I did my free-lance Journalism course with the British College of Journalism and I cannot recommend them enough. The whole process was not only seamless but very professional. I was pushed and challenged on the topics and it was for the best. You do not want an easy passage to get your qualification and this course certainly polished my skills up a lot better in the end...

Freelance Journalism with BCJ
Before enrolling in to Freelance Journalism course with the BCJ I searched the internet for an alternative provider of this course. After weeks of searching I come to realise that BCJ is the best provider of this course.
The course was a good value for money and support I got from my online supervisor was excellent. What I liked the most with BCJ was that I could pay for my course with monthly Direct Debt which was perfect for my financial situation at that time.
The other thing I liked was the BCJs flexibility with the assignment dates. During my course I moved to China for a work and could not complete my assignments on time. I was worried about this but my online supervisor assured me that, it is not a problem, I can complete them once I am settled in my new place.
I was guided through the course professionally with respect and understanding. At the end of the course I was very happy to pass all my assignments and receive my Press Pass. I would recommend BCJ to everyone and anyone who would like to study a course with this college

Excellent Course, No job opportunity assistance
I loved my course, but I am slightly disappointed that I have not yet received any potential leads for places I could work with.
The note on the website reads "We guarantee we will continue to work with you after graduation if required. If you are serious about seeing your name and work in print, we’re serious about assisting you."
"Furthermore, we’ll also continue working with you until you see your first payment, even if it takes a year!"
Unfortunately, neither happened and I was looking and still am looking at some serious International Exposure. I quit the Indian media scene that year hoping I could pitch for some international news papers since I have a keen interest in Print and Digital media writing, but to no avail.
So while the course itself and the tutors (in my case Ms. Judy) are par excellence, I can't bring myself to give an All-star rating because the rest of it has not been delivered. I will change my Ratings once I do receive at least my first international opportunity, because then the College would have delivered in toto.

This company and course was very exciting and insightful.
This company and course was very professional but also relaxed. I was always able to complete my assignments on time even though I work full time.

I enjoyed the course
I enjoyed the course, there was so much information to digest helping me to develop as a freelance journalist and some great established industry experts sharing their knowledge and tips to succeed. Before the course end, I sent a query to an editor using the advice given and he invited me to send my article and published it. This reinforced my portfolio and gave me the confidence to press on and do the work with a perpetual smile. Thanks, BCJ!

Enjoyable Course and Reasonably Priced
I thoroughly enjoyed the course and continue to use the material for reference when writing. I particularly liked having a writing mentor, full of ideas, suggestions and guidance where necessary. Finding regular work afterwards is always a challenge and this is the only area where I would have liked a little more assistance. I do however fully appreciate how difficult this would be to achieve with a course like this. Overall, I have used much of what I have learned and would recommend it to others who want to learn to become a writer. I have been lucky enough to have had a number of articles printed since completing the course.

I LOVED this course
I LOVED this course, and the subsequent Freelance Journalism course I added on. Fabulous teachers, so knowledgable, constructive and interesting. The course format works really well and the materials are well presented.

The British College of Journalism is worth it!
The British College of Journalism was my first step into writing for some of the world's most respectable publications, from Forbes to Harper's BAZAAR, Business Traveller Middle East, and NPR. The program is professional from the admin staff to the one-on-one mentor. The course really prepared me for being ready to pitch to editors, by hitting the ground running and knowing journalism jargon, as well as expectations that editors have. I recommend the program unequivocally. It's legit and helpful for those with no journalism experience, wanting a thorough intro understanding of how freelance journalism works.
