Very high cancellation charges and poor handling of cancellations
I had a very disappointing experience with BudgetAir. Their cancellation and change charges are extremely high, making it feel as though customers are heavily penalized for even a simple booking mistake. I requested cancellation within about 1 hour, but they still deducted 20â30% of the ticket value. In my case over $300.
Customer service appears to be available, but the agents did not seem to have clear information or control over the booking. Even after BudgetAir told me that the cancellation and refund had been processed, the cancellation did not immediately reach the airline, and the airline continued to show the tickets as confirmed.
Because of this delay, I had to contact the airline directly and consider filing a complaint under Indian DGCA rules. Customers should be very careful before booking, especially if there is any possibility of needing to make a change or cancel.
My advice is to use BudgetAir only to find a suitable route, then purchase the ticket directly from the airline. This may make changes, cancellations, and refunds much easier to handle.
