The child seat rent was very expensive and the seats were an ABOMINATION. One of them even had broken belt clips.

Also, if you ever rent a car with them make sure to have very detailed pictures of the car. They tried to charge me for a damage that was not mentioned in the documents. Luckily I had a clear photo of the damage visible on their parking lot the day I picked up the car so they gave up.

Do not rent a car from this company. They should not be in business. They do not meet any basic commercial business standard. This was the worst experience ever.

When we arrived, the vehicle was not ready. We had to wait 1.5 hours for a vehicle that was far from the picture and description in our contract. Instead, they provided us with a 10 year old vehicle in poor condition, with issues they would later charge us for. The vehicle had no functionning air conditioning and missing seatbelts. When we complained about this, there was no alternative vehicle on site. They do not give any service, they do not have personnel with any authority to deal with complaints and dissatisfied customers. Many of the staff on site are not able to speak English. It was impossible to get resolution. To top it all, after we gave the vehicle back, they racked up a fraudulent bill for costs we were not responsible for.

We were extremely disappointed with the fact that Rent-a-car partnered with Caldera-car-hire. You should stay away from both companies.

Unfortunately we had a very bad experience. The lady that helped us had a very passive aggressive attitude not only to us but to other people that was waiting for their cars as well. Instead of trying to help out with the car she was very upset about us booking through rentalcars.com and not directly with them because they made less money if anyone book through a broker she said multiple times. Furthermore we paid for full insurance through rentalcars.com but when we arrived she said that our insurance didn't cover anything as we needed our insurance through them for it to be valid and if we didn't buy extra insuranance we would have to leave a deposit of €700 and if something happened they would charge us the whole 700 € and then we would need to claim that with rental cars.com afterwards . Insurance for our car was €20 per day and we still had to leave a deposit of €300. They also pointed out that it didn't cover the tires and windows (driving in Crete is bumpy). On top of this the car was probably around 7-10 years old and looked like it had some tough love in the past, we still needed to go around the car mark out all the damages and scratches, she was very clear about if there was any additional scratches on this car that looked like it had went through a dirt rally competition, smelling like a cigarr room from the late 70's we would pay the deposit as well.

I have been all around the world and have never ever had an experience even remotely comparable to this, with the knowledge I have today I would not rent a car from this company for free.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVEN IF THEY ARE LOWER IN PRICE ONLINE! They will add fees and try to scam you when you return the car!

I was a little nervous renting from Caldera through rental cars, but every worry was put to bed.
We were picked up at Chania airport at 0315 am, it only took 15 min to get the car, and when we returned the car one from the staff drove us to the airport

Absolutely disgraceful company. Do not book!!!

We booked with them through rental cars. Our flight was late so we informed rental cars and they passed on to Caldera. When it was further delayed I called Caldera to inform them and they said no problem, they’re watching the flight details and we shouldn’t worry.

When our flight was postponed to the next day we called again to inform them and they told us we’d missed the pick up time and lost the booking with no refund. This despite telling us not to worry earlier. They then didn’t want to deal with us and told us to go back to Rental cars.

Avoid this corrupt company at all costs!!!

Caldera let us a car with non-functioning brakes and didn’t reimburse us for costs they’ve promised they would.

The first car we had broke down twice. After we fixed the issue the first time (had to stop at a gas station and sort it out) we put fuel in the car, hoping the problem was fixed, however the car broke down again after a few minutes and we had to call them to get a new car.

The company said they would reimburse us for fuel which never happened. Instead they gave us an email address to email which they then ghosted us from.

They also said nothing was wrong with the first car despite their own papers saying the breaks needed replacing. Just really dangerous and irresponsible. And given the past reviews, which we should have read before booking, this seems to be the way they operate. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

We hired a car from Caldera at Preveza Airport via Booking. com. The instructions on the voucher were that the Caldera rep would be meet us at the arrival hall. There was no Caldera rep on arrival. When I phoned them he said , wrong number. The second time I called he said That there was no booking for us. When I contacted Booking.Com they confirmed that we had a booking. When the Booking.com person contacted Caldera they put the phone down on her she told me.
Now trying to get my money back from Booking.com which is not a straight forward process.
Summary: I won’t hire a car from Caldera again.

PAS OP!!!!! Dit zijn oplichters!!! Proberen je 1.000 euro te laten pinnen op je credit card. En als dit niet lukt accepteren ze geen ander betaalmiddel. Je wordt behandeld als oud vuil. Ik heb elders een auto gehuurd en de het geld terug gekregen van de tussenpersoon. Laat je niet verleiden door de lage tarieven. Je wordt 100 % opgelicht. Onbeschoft volk en er is geen balie in de terminal. Hier moet je een half uur voor lopen. NIET BOEKEN!!!!!!

Do not rent from these crooks...im just sorry i never did any research before i booked with caldera...first of all its a front name used to hook you in with the cheap prices...its actually a group of car hire companys bunched together ...ABBYCAR HIRE and several more....no caldera rep...about 6 companies in on the scam..reading the conditions its a 750 euros deposit which is very high but ok.......first they collect you and take you far out on the highway where the offices are....then all of a sudden the card you used originally and had already been cashed out by these people is not working or is no good? Even though my credit limit was 5000 it was not accepted....but hey...a solution is suddenly found...i can pay an extra 80 euros for full insurance..and 100 deposit......stuck in the middle of nowhere...no car...no option....so yes...i pay the 80 euros and go....i wont let it ruin the holiday....but no...its not ending there...on return...they now declare i have scratched the car and must keep the 100 euros for costs and administration fees....HOLD ON...IM FULLY INSURED I SAY....ROBBERS...KEEP CLEAR...INVESTIGATE THESE CAR HIRE FRAUDSTERS IF YOU CAN FIRST...LOOK AT ABBYCAR ON MAPS (7TH TSAIRI AIRPORT AVE, RODOS ) AND SEE THE OTHER FRAUDULENT NAMES THEY GO UNDER...

Nog nooit heb ik een auto verhuur bedrijf mee gemaakt dat zo slecht is als deze.
Door overboekingen kregen we een auto mee wat ze volgensmij van de sloop hebben gehaald (opel astra I.v.m suzuki baleno). Wat maar "92000" op de teller had staan.
Het dak kwam naar beneden, de radio deed het niet, een klep aan de bestuurders kant wat vast gelijmd was kwam los tijden het rijden.
Hopend dat de motor goed was reden we naar de eerst bestemming .
De eerst codes kwamen al tevoorschijn.
Gelijk de dag erna gebeld dat we deze auto niet vertrouwen en een nieuw wilden en naar de dichtstbijzijnde locatie verwezen.
Deze was gesloten dus de volgende dag de locatie zelf gebeld er er heen gegaan.
Geen "vervanging" (hij wilde zijn huur auto waarschijnlijk niet omruilen voor deze bak) maar het klepje was weer vast gelijmd en we moesten maar naar chania om daar een vervanger regelen.
Nogmaals gezegd dat we de auto niet vertrouwen en een ander wilden maar hij had niks.
Onderweg naar Chania toen gebeurden het, de airco sloeg uit en de auto begon te pruttelen en te piepen. Voor we het wisten sloeg de motor af en hebben we op de handrem (want de remmen deden het ook niet meer) het nog net tot onderaan de heuvel een tankstation gered.
Gebeld weer en ze zijden dood leuk dat we naar Chania airport moest rijden.
Uitgelegd dat de auto het niet meer deed en dat we dat niet konden, moesten we naar heraklion bellen omdat ze waarschijnlijk in chania ook geen vervanger hadden.
Weer in conclaaf en uiteindelijk werden we door iemand anders terug gebeld.
We kregen gelukkig op het moment een andere auto (maar we moesten niet te lang blijven staan daar, erg gehaast en onvriendelijk) en nou willen ze dat we voor die barrel gaan betalen.
En natuurlijk ontkennen ze alles, we hadden we niet gebeld en het gemeld en waren we zomaar zijn door gereden met een kapotte auto en dat dat onze verantwoordelijkheid was.
NOOIT EEN AUTO HUREN HIER!

Guys, I cannot stress this enough, this company charged me wrongfully 645 euros on top of the 325 euros i had paid to the rentalcars platform to make the booking. I am not even joking. I am in talk with rentalcars right now but I am beyond words. Avoid at all costs these thieves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total scam, cancelled our booking after 2 hours when we arrive 2.25 hours late due to delay. It’s a scam to charge more and walk away from the deal we had. Totally inflexible and unhelpful, avoid this company. I know car rental companies have had a hard time in COVID but this one does not deserve your business.

We have just come back from Chania in Crete where we hired a car from Caldera. This operation is run in a very unprofessional way and I urge anyone to steer clear, they might have slightly cheaper prices but they are scammers. When we arrived at Chania there was no 'meet and greet', we had to telephone them and wait for them to pick us up. I sensed straight away that they were very unprofessional but at that point we were in the process of taking the car on offer (which was of very poor quality with a number of dents!). I took photos of the car and the dents. When we brought the car back the guy in the office looked around the bodywork and pointed to a bit of dust, saying it was damaged and he would charge our credit card. There ensued a very unpleasant argument during which the guy said 'I have your credit card number and I can charge it when you leave', he only started to back down when another member of staff wiped away the 'damage' (dust!) with a damp cloth!! He then refused to drive us to the airport by which point I was panicking about missing our flight. We eventually agreed to pay 50 euro for a small water stain on the back seat, we had to pay or miss our flight, as he would not sign the contract which agreed he wouldn't charge us more that 50 Euro. It's was all very nasty and a stressful end to our holiday. Never again.

Office lt. Buchungsbestätigung direkt im Terminal Kos. In Wahrheit 5 Gehminuten vom Aiport entfernt. Niemand von Caldera im Terminal anwesend. 20 Minuten gesucht. Fahrzeug sauber und vollgetankt. Bei der Rückgabe ist der Mitarbeiter von Caldera Kos unter das Auto gekrochen (!) und hat dort in der Plastik-Frontschürze kleine (neue) Kratzer entdeckt, welcher äusserlich nicht sichtbar ist. Dafür hat Caldera meiner Kreditkarte fast 500 EUR Reparaturkosten belastet. Das Fahrzeug hatte rundherum ähnliche ( aufgrund der Strassen in Kos) unvermeidbare (und nicht reparierte...) Gebrauchsspuren. Das Fahrzeug hatte zum Zeitpunkt der Anmietung zudem bereits fast 30.000 km am Tacho.

Fazit: Auto mieten bei Caldera in KOS führt unvermeidbar zu einer Schadensrechnung, da der Fahrzeugzustand bei Übernahme niemals (ohne Hebebühne) so genau geprüft werden kann (Kratzer unter dem Auto!...).
Die Strassen in Kos sind zudem voller Schlaglöcher, Gebüsch am Strassenrand reicht weit in die Fahrbahn, das Fahrzeug wird also unvermeidlich nach 30.000 km Laufleistung - wie auch dieses Auto- leichte Kratzer und Dellen aufweisen, welche dann der Kunde bezahlt, obwohl die Schäden offensichtlich nicht repariert werden.

I rent a car online and was first content with the price. it was the WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!! the guy who was supposed to pick us didnt even show our name on the carboard, I had to ask people around me. He said my card was a debit one and completely refused to rent us a car even if the payment has already been made in advance. 36 degres outside : NO CAR, NO REFUND , NO SYMPATHY, NO EMOTION, NO EXPLANATION, NO SOLUTION
it's a BIG NO for me !!! never again I swear !!

Angekommen an Korfu und eine Ewigkeit gewartet.. da kam nichts von Caldera.. Telefonnummer auf der Webseite auch falsch.. Mussten vorort was neues buchen.

Fahrzeug nicht vollgetankt, wie verabredet. Das Auto hatte so viele Blessuren, dass es schwerfiel, alle zu dokumentieren. Prompt wurde bei der Rückgabe ein Kratzer gefunden, der angeblich vorher nicht da war. Diskussionen bringen nichts, das ist ihr Geschäftsmodell. Sie haben ja die Kaution. So einen üblen Autovermieter habe ich in Griechenland in 25 Jahren nicht erlebt! Hände weg von der Auto - Vermietung CALDERA CARS!
