We signed up for CallRainâs annual plan thinking it would save us money in the long run, especially since the app is already expensive. We also assumed the cancellation terms would be similar to the monthly plan. Only after purchasing did we discover that the refund policy is tucked away so quietly that most people would never notice it until itâs too late.
From the moment we tried to set it up, the problems began. The integration never worked properly, their code slowed our site down dramatically, and despite months of troubleshooting, nothing ever functioned the way it was supposed to. Eventually we decided it wasnât worth the constant headaches and chose to cancel.
Thatâs when the refund policy suddenly became impossible to miss. No refunds under any circumstances. I wasnât even asking for the full amount back, only a reasonable proârated refund to offset the upfront cost. After several support conversations that all felt identical, every request was denied without any willingness to understand our situation.
This entire experience has been disappointing and incredibly frustrating. The product didnât work for us, the support was unhelpful, and the company showed no flexibility or fairness. Based on what we went through, I cannot recommend this service to anyone.

Iâve used CallRail for a few months and genuinely tried to give them a chance, but the billing model is ridiculous. My â$50 Starter Planâ turned into nearly $200 a month once I realized every minute over 250 was billed at several cents per minute â and they donât warn you when youâre about to exceed your limit.
The company hides behind rigid plans, no flexibility, and no modern features. Youâre paying premium rates for basic call recording with no AI assistance, no text-back automation, and no real customization. Their competitors offer unlimited minutes and better tools for a third of the cost.
I reached out to billing support to resolve the overcharges and was told thereâs nothing they can do â not even a one-time fix. Itâs clear they care more about squeezing extra usage fees than keeping customers long-term.
