Booked a cab at 07:50 and it didn’t turn up for nearly an hour. This isn’t the first time it has happened either. This company is consistently late and I have missed trains in the past because of them. I understand mornings are busy but how does it take an hour to find an available driver?

Not even a 1 star , I hour late for hospital appointment !!Hospital then cancelled .
Will never use this terrible firm again .

Perfect timing. Very friendly and kind lady driver. Very comfortable ride in her black Tesla. Since I had a knee replacement surgery 2 weeks ago, and it was a long drive I needed to be as comfy as possible, so the driver's help and understanding is greatly appreciated.

Avoid this company at all costs. If I could give less than 1 star I will. I booked a taxi and paid online. 5 mins to my pickup time, I called the number, just to confirm they were enroute. Only to get called back that the taxi had been cancelled. No explanation, no apology, no contrition. They disrupted my travel arrangements horrible lot. They were condescending and rude. Terrible terrible business. Do not use! They are yet to refund me.

Unreliable. Accepts bookings, but then suddenly have «no drivers available», «they are all out of town», «tried to call you, but you don’t have a local number». This is about both bookings made for immediate pickup and bookings made in advance.

Absolutely shocking service. We use this company for a care home supporting vulnerable adults in Cambridge. We have an account paid for by the County Council. The drivers are always late, that's if they turn up at all. When we contact them they always give the same excuse about being on the way or stuck in traffic. If I could give zero stars I would. This happens all the time. I'm sure the Council only use them because they gave the lowest price. Use Panther taxis. They are so much better

Pre paid taxi never turned up. When i called to get a refund they were so rude and didn't even apologise.

Frequently unreliable. I book daily, well over an hour in advance, but only very rarely get the taxi for the 7.30am I request, leading my son to be frequently late to school and receive unjust detention.
I only ever started using this company because his old school recommended them as safe for school pick up and drop off. I have found Uber to be far more reliable, and today will be my last ever booking with this extremely unprofessional company.
Don't get me started on some of the drivers!

I booked a taxi for 7pm from our hotel in to Cambridge needed to be in Cambridge centre for 19 30 no sign of the taxi I rang and the message was that they were trying to get a drive to do the job finally it turned up at 19 25 the driver was rood and no apologies he was talking on his phone driving in to the city still talking on his phone and touching the screen at the same time .he was clearly unsure of the way to go after driving around the streets in the end he dropped us 400 meters from were we wanted to be say this was the closest to the venue not what is expected we finally got there @19.48 this taxi company is a waste of time and I won’t be using these again steer complete away

Well just seen how many 1 star reviews this company has , and there is good reason. If you don’t have time to read much , just start looking for an alternative company ( many good ones in Cambridge) .
If you do have time to read this the reason you should not book is they are
- totally unreliable ( apparently being 25 minutes late is so acceptable they won’t warn you )
- they don’t tell the truth . When I pointed out being late was unacceptable they said they only got the booking 5 minutes before. I had email confirmation I had booked previous day.
- if you cancel up as being 25 minutes late when catching a train , you then have to apply for your money back !!
- I also asked for compensation for the parking fee I incurred , which they kept ignoring my request until finally said because I ( finally ) got my money back it was too late. I pointed out I had asked for it in every email but they just ignored it.

Bottom line , never use this company

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with CamCab. I booked a taxi for 3 September at 3:30 pm from Stansted Airport to 103 Ellis Road. However, the entire process was a disaster due to inconsistent and confusing communication from their customer service team.

Initially, I was informed that the vehicle I booked would not accommodate my party and that I needed to book a more expensive minibus. Based on this advice, I agreed to cancel the booking.

Later that evening, I was informed by another advisor that the original vehicle was indeed suitable and that my booking would remain active. Despite this assurance, I received a message confirming that my booking had been cancelled.

When I called the following morning, I was told that a complaint would be raised regarding the conflicting information and the cancellation, but instead, I received an email simply asking for the last four digits of my card for a refund – information that had already been provided during my first call. The lack of coordination and professionalism was astounding.

In the end, my booking was cancelled against my wishes and I was left feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated.

The total waste of time and the poor service I received has led me to decide never to use CamCab again.

I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking reliable and consistent service.

Made us pay an extra 5 pound and told us we cannot leave because apparently we told him to go to a different place when he was right there and drove away and when we told him that he drove away from us he kept hanging up the phone and ignoring us. He was very rude when he interacted with us in the car by saying he was waiting while we where getting into the car we are not from cambridge and are 15 he also kept asking very personal questions towards us. do NOT recommend.

Driver went all over cambridge before actually arriving , Then He Took many wrongs turnings which my mother told him he was going the wrong way which he didn't listen too. My mother is not a Young woman and Was Drunk out of her skull and then had to walk half the journey where she fell over. She could have been concussed

Don't bother. Uber would have been easier

Prebooked an airport pick up, giving both the flight number and a later time (+1 hour) so there is time to use the restroom, get a snack, etc. The taxi was still in the Cambridge area after the flight had landed and the taxi driver called at the pick up time to say he still needed another 1.5 hours due to traffic.

Phone operators very unhelpful, insisting it was my mistake I gave 2 different times, and also saying the taxi would not be late (contradicting their own driver).

Terrible …..
Phoned for taxi at 1610 told it would be with us at 1700
Not arrived by 1710 so called again told it would be another 30 mins phoned again,phoned again after 30 mins, told 10 minutes.
Finally arrived at 1815, we had missed our planned meal in town before our show at 1930.
Still waiting for a full explanation to my complaint
WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER USED!

Terrible, rude and dangerous drivers, avoid at all costs and just use Uber!

I booked a taxi with Cam Cabs this morning for 8am from Coton to Cambridge station for a 9:12am train to Stansted.
I received a text at 7:50 to say the taxi was on its way, from a location 25kms away!!
I then had a call from Cam Cabs at 8:10 to say the taxi would be another 10mins, however I was assured the taxi would get me to the station on time.
My taxi arrived at 8:30 and the traffic was bad, so no way would I have got to the station on time…
I then had to rebook the taxi to take me to Stansted, at a cost of £64.00!!
Eventually after several phone calls the cost was reduced to £51.00 to allow for the taxi ride previously booked, however no allowance was made for the cost of my unused train ticket or inconvenience caused.
A very unhelpful man told me that it was rush hour, what did I expect, and that is why the taxi was 30mins late!! I was basically told it was my fault even though if the taxi was on time, I would have got to the station to catch my train.
The taxi driver was not to blame and was very apologetic - he blamed the taxi company for giving him the earlier job which was 25kms away, knowing that he would not be able to collect me at the arranged time of 8am.
Apparently they do this with their drivers all the time, so be warned, do not rely on Cam Cabs to turn up on time if you are running to a tight schedule…
Will not be using them again.

Awful service - stuck waiting two hours.
Was quoted a 55-60 minutes wait for a taxi from Heathrow to Cambridge. 60 minutes later the driver is still an hour away. Could not cancel the ride either. Last time using this company.

They are the worse company ever,, they get my money up front for pick me up and the driver never came ,, they said my fly was delayed and the driver came and went back wich is not true because they can see when a fly is delayed,,
They just take our money up front and don’t show up ,, be careful people pls !!
