I started my Solar panel journey a couple of years back and was on the Octopus Flux tariff. I used to spend quite a bit of time each morning deciding what settings to use that day to get the best return. It became a bit of a daily chore and, obviously, I didn't always get it right.
Then earlier this year I decided to switch to Octopus Intelligent Flux where Octopus have complete control of your batteries. The rates were good and it took away the need for that daily chore. However it became obvious, particularly on the sunny days we were having, that something about Octopus' settings meant that some of my hard earned solar energy was being thrown away. Eventually I discovered it was the work mode Octopus were using for Force Discharge which prioritised export from the batteries over solar. I tried to get Octopus to make the required change, but either through ignorance or deliberate policy, they have not done so.
I then found Capture! I have been using it to control my batteries for a few weeks now, and it is doing a marvellous job. And no more daily chore.
As somebody said to me, why give control of your batteries to the company which was charging you for electricity!
And the customer service is excellent and responsive.
All round, the best solution to optimising your solar batteries.

The service is excellent quick answers to questions and what is more constructive help to ensure you maximise the benefits of, for example, solar, ev charging, cheap rate etc etc.

Great back up with a service that is second to none

I have just had a solar and fox battery system fitted.
When researching Fox batteries I came across Capture AI. My initial experience with the app has been excellent... Really simple to use and effective at reducing costs from day one. The system collects and processes information such as half hourly unit cost, solar generation predictions and typical household usage that would be impossible for me to monitor myself. I just leave Capture AI to optimise my system and save money without any effort!

When first using the app, I had a couple of questions so used the 'support' function. Johannes replied very promptly to my questions, updating my settings and giving clear and helpful information.
So far, an amazing product that I thoroughly recommend to anyone with a compatible system.

I had a Fox battery set-up installed in June 2025, and subsequently found the FoxCloud battery management system to be somewhat 'troublesome' working with my Eon tariff. Discovered Capture 'on-line' and was very impressed, straight away, by their program and very active/quick response to any issues I initially had. I had (and still have!) major issues with Eon's general handling and service problems encountered over the last year. Appalling, - but they do have the best tariff for my requirements... Whenever I have had any glitches or a change in my tariff, and given Capture the changed info, there has been an immediate corrective response from Capture, even accomplished during/over the weekend. I cannot find their service other than exemplary in all aspects, and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

Capture Energy has been incredible in managing my battery only system - I have been one of their early customers and while there were some issues with the early versions of the battery management AI, they've all been ironed out. Johannes and the team have been there to support the setup consistently. This is one of the few things I don't manage myself and to be honest, it's nice to have a solution that just works as I expect.

We had our solar panels installed by Lime Solar early in December and initially we used the FoxCloud app to set our battery charge during the off peak period on the Octopus Flux tariff. We signed up to the Capture app around February/March and I’m astonished at the amount of energy being exported by the app without having to do a thing. The app keeps enough charge in my battery for evening energy consumption and automatically exports at the peak export tariff rate.

We’ve had an import/export tariff with solar panels & a battery for about 6 months now. Capture energy has helped us make hundreds of pounds by exporting most of our electric at peak times.

We also had an issue with our energy provider reading our export data, Capture Energy provided the missing data for us to send to our energy provider.

Great communications from these guys and the app is really helpful in coordinating the recharging of your batteries. I have a 20kW array of batteries and PVs and Capture enables easy configurable recharging overnight, when needed, and my electricity use and costs have considerably reduced since using them.

My experience with capture has been phenomenal. My grow watt batteries are charging fully at the cheapest night rate, utilised fully at peak rates, and my energy cost has plummet as a result. The AI solar charging forecast enables me to plan my high energy usage around days of best output, and seeing the real saving day by day.

We started using Capture in late October after our solar system was installed. Over the winter and through spring it has been excellent in charging our solar storage battery when either the sun shines or at the cheapest possible rate from the grid when appropriate. We did experience a glitch or two in the beginning but at that time the system was very new and they were solved very quickly. Since then it has been accurate at using predicted weather forecasts when deciding how and when to charge the battery. Help is always available with a fast response time.
I highly recommend Capture AI.

I was recommended this app by my next door neighbour as I was doing the scheduling myself. Very easy to set up and the scheduling was far better, with active overnight importing and exporting to ensure 100% battery in the morning . Although early for me to fully judge , however it looks like a more effective way to mange the battery . There was a slight glitch in my performance last week put down to the recent energy price change however their support team Johannas was easy to contact and they was able to make a quick adjustment to resolve it . Very impressed so far .

We’ve been using the Capture app to automatically regulate our battery schedules for our solar panel system for about two months now. Prior to using Capture, we had been manually adjusting the mode scheduler in our inverter’s Fox app to try and maximise our charging and discharging schedules based on weather forecasts and predicated usage but it is complicated and time consuming to keep an eye on this on a daily basis.

We found Capture AI needed a couple of weeks to learn about us but it now happily works away in the background, constantly changing schedules and reacting to our usage, the weather forecasts and actual levels of solar production to maximise our savings through battery management and import/export schedules. The ‘Capture Price’ shows the actual cost per kWh by day, week or month and we are currently sitting at -15p/kWh for April.

The app is intuitive and mostly laid out in clickable tiles with an easy to understand explanation written in plain English of what each tile is showing you.

The app suits those who want to have nothing to do with their solar system other than know that it is working but also people like us who like to keep a close eye on what’s being produced, exported and exactly how savings are being maximised through scheduling.

Customer service is exceptionally responsive and very easy to contact via the app.

it will do what its supposed to do monitoring wise charging and discharging at the approperate times, I have no interaction at all no it does what it needs to do, excellent bit of kit

The latest update shows tomorrows forecast for solar power and usage. Works well with my Octopus tarriffs and constantly checks and updates its plans during cheap rate tariff periods and real-time solar generation. Fantastic Company and App. Their help desk, Fahad is phenominal and proactive. Could not recommend more highly.

Amazing company, I love the app and have been using Capture since our panels and batteries were installed. The company are extremely helpful going above and beyond in their customer service. The app enables you to monitor so much including production, storage and use. The app information provides invaluable information to optimise battery added value. The company also provides guidance about supplier tariffs to assist customer choose the best tariff. Highly recommend.

I heard of capture put of the blue via my solar installer and I've been very happy with the results. The scheduling works well and Johannes and the team are very responsive to any questions I have including listening to feedback as they develop. I'm excited to see how it performa over summer and look forward to continuing improvements in the app.
If you're a tinkerer or techie but don't want to manage the automation yourself then this is a happy medium.

They contacted me out of the blue some time after I had solar installed, telling me my system was not optimised effectively. At first I was cautious, suspecting a scam, but their rep, Fahad, was responsive, helpful and courteous, and there was no charge. I hear Capture is a fledgling company. They deserve success and I wish them well

Brilliant product, brilliant support. This is a real no-brainer. I think I'm saving around £40.00 / month.

Capture is great it gives me real time data on the import and export of the energy from my solar pannels. Customer service team is absolutely first class, very helpful nothing too much trouble. Great service all round.

I have a solar PV system with batteries (Fox ESS). Before I used Capture to manage my system, I was constantly changing my charging times to ensure I charged my batteries at the lowest rates, especially in the winter months. Now I leave all this to Capture AI. It was simple to set up with Capture's support team. I can turn off Capture AI at any time if I feel the need to regain control of my system. The exciting new part is that they are looking to supply my local grid provider with excess electricity in peak times. (pilot phase)
I recommend using Capture as a peace of mind management of PV Solar systems with batteries
