Got a Sony version with camera

Got a Sony version with camera. Suddenly they deactivated the product with no warning and this rude message, showing this company care for their customers:
"I purchased Capture One Express with my camera. How is it possible for you to deactivate my license?
While Capture One Express may have been bundled with certain cameras, it has always been available as a free software. The license provided with the camera purchase does not entail a monetary transaction for the software itself."

It is true that Capture One Express has been a free product since the very first version of it. If your camera provider has communicated something different during the purchase - this is definitely misleading and I'm sorry for that.

We have started communication regarding product deprecation back in December 2023, about 3 months before the actual deprecation, as we wanted to make sure that our users that have Capture One Express are well aware and ready for the change.

Problem with moving files solved

A few weeks ago I submitted a support request regarding C1 not moving files. The C1 support desk collected additional info from me and concluded that it was an issue that would need further investigation. They tried to help me through a workaround that unfortunately didn't work. However, in the next software release the problem disappeared. Happy customer!

Quick response and helpful attitude

Bugs do happen and when a new camera arrives it doesn’t always go according to plan. I encountered an issue with DNG files created from Nikon Z8 RAW files. I submitted a bug report and uploaded the log files and screen recordings of what was happening. I was prepared for a long wait and a workaround but in fact I was contacted quickly by CaptureOne support and explained the issue more precisely. Despite being told not to get my hopes up, a fix was released a couple of days later. That’s how it should be done !!

Quick bug-fix

Had a crash issue due to a file-bug.
I sent a Bug-report and after a short back and forth with the support-crew to pinpoint the error - they updated the application a couple of days later having fixed the bug.

Capture one indrager min licens til…

Capture one indrager min licens til Nikon Express, for at få folk over på en pro licens, hvem kan have tillid til sådan et firma, ikke mig, helt utrolig til gangster metoder, håber alle vil smide Capture one i skraldespanden så de kan sidde i valby og pille i deres navler.

A deceitful company, avoid

Capture One is one of those companies that pump more and more money out of you be "closing" their existing software and blackmailing you to pay more in order to be able to make use of the hours you have invested in your edits.

They closed Capture One Express, which does not mean that you don't get updates, but that actually you cannot use it at all. The only way is to pay more for "Pro". Next year there will probably be "Extreme" and Pro will be replaced, and you will have to pay 999 $ for Extreme like now when Pro replaces Express. Stay away from this company!

We have decided to focus our time and resources on the main product - Capture One Pro - which is the main reason why we have discontinued Capture One Express. Understanding that it could be challenging for Express users to pay full price for Capture One Pro to keep access to the software, we have offered a one-time 60% discount to make it more affordable for those who wanted to keep using the software. I was having trouble getting my Canon…

I was having trouble getting my Canon r6II to tether in Capture One. The tech support was wonderful. Victor responded to my numerous emails promptly and with lots of good ideas. With his help, I was able to work through the problem and I am up and running now!

Capture one se prend pour Adobe mais en plus cher et moins bien ! Bye bye Capture One !

Capture one express ferme le 30 janvier 2024 et capture one pro n’est plus accessible aux mises à jour à compter de la version 16.3 sauf à prendre un abonnement hors de prix ! Et même si vous avez payé plus de 200 e il y a à peine 1 an. Capture one se prend pour Adobe ! Autant retourner chez Adobe, l’abonnement est moins cher et permet de faire plus de choses ! Terminé pour moi Capture One !

It's good software but absolutely awful…

It's good software but absolutely awful customer service. I found the two "support staff" I dealt with to be really patronising and arrogant. So much so that I cancelled my subscription and am sticking with Adobe.

Capture one has a good reputation and…

Capture one has a good reputation and provides a free cut down editing programme for certain brands of camera. I had the free version for Fujifilm some years ago but had got rid of it. I wanted to try the new version and downloaded it. Instead of getting the free version I got a trial of the full pro paid for version. I binned it and the activation code that came with it and contacted Capture one support. I swiftly got a reply from Victor explaining the rather complex and arcane steps I had to take, deactivating the pro version and more steps after that. It would seem simpler for them to download the free version I had clicked on. I thanked Victor for his help and explained that I had got rid of the activation code and asked how to get another. That was three days ago. Despite two more email requests from me I have been blanked. Baffling and very disappointing. I have gone elsewhere.

Fast response from tech support and issue RESOLVED!

I am a longtime C1 user and I was having an issue with my tools collapsing whenever closing and opening different catalogues or creating new ones. It was annoying to have to expand my tools each time I used C1, but didn't affect my ability to do my editing. I reached out to customer support and Sergi responded within 24 hours and was very helpful in resolving the issue. Within two weeks a software update was released that resolved my issue completely. Thanks!

First Rate Customer support…

Victor did an outstanding job of (a) understanding my somewhat confused description of my problem and, (b) providing me all the information I needed. Throughout the process he was personable, efficient, and professional. I've not had any problems with C1 ever. I contacted customer for advice on what I might do prior to installing a new OS. Victor was a great help and I'm grateful for his assistance.

Victor was very patient and restored my confidence in Capture One after database corruption…

Victor was very patient and understanding with me ! Unfortunately he was unable to fully rectify the corruption that had happened on my database but he did what he could and talked me though the actions that I could (and did) take to minimise the damage and get the database back on an even keel although I will have to undertake some reinstatement of images on my own over the next few weeks. I have used the new database for a few days now and added to it without issue so my confidence has been restored.
