All aspects of their work and how they went about it was brilliant. Jason who was my contact guy couldn't do enough to help. Any questions I had he would get back to me by the end of the day (even on his days off!!!!) When the guys did the installation did everything possible to minimise the mess and disruption, even covering my carpets in cling film so they could just pick it up at the end. We are so pleased with our air source heat pump. I'm amazed how hot the water is! It's hotter than when we had a boiler! Our radiators are red hot and easy to control. Thank you Jason for all your help and thank you installation guys for your amazing work 👍 😀

I just had installed first time central


I just had installed first time central heating. I wanted to acknowledge personal who went above and beyond to make all this happen. Carbon team - Callum, Jemma and Kathryn were really helpful and did everything so I had installation done before my holiday. Installation team- Ross and Aron, very tidy, clean, and fast working everything was done in two days time.
For now we are just using a hot water and will add my review after the heating starts.
For now everything is perfect.

Very poor customer service

We contacted this firm about solar panels for our property.
They have made two appointments, both of which we waited in for, but to no avail as no one bothered to turn up.
We phoned and were told someone would contact us, again this did not happen.
The representative then texted and promised he would come today at 1pm and again did not turn up, even though we had his word on it that he would definitely be here.
To say we are disappointed is an understatement, and unclear how firms can operate in this manner, so my advice would be to look for a company that does turn up as this one certainly does not either turn up or apologise to its customers

8 months arranging free boiler and central heating system, 23 telephone calls, 23 Lies.
All staff even Managers at this Company are 100% unprofessional.

WARNING DO NOT USE Carbon Saving Group.
unless you want a massive headache from individuals who have no respect for running a business correctly.

I have reported this company to Trading Standards and the correct authorities.

it took you 8 months of bad dicisions to eventually find out the property was a listed building And you can't do listed buildings, you not only gave me a massive headache You also gave the tenants in the property a hell of a bad time.
It finally went to your Manager who promised me she would get another company who can do the work for you. The manager has ignored my calls and is just as useless as the rest of the people who work for you....

At Carbon Saving Group we pride ourselves in the work we carry out to help vulnerable families improve their heating but unfortunately sometimes there are circumstances which are beyond our control. As you can see from the summary below several external factors meant this grant could not be undertaken and for this we apologise. As the main point of contact for any of our clients we bare responsibility of carrying out the surveys and installation process but unfortunately on this occasion things were up against us.

For the sake of this response, we will refer to “the client” as being either the tenant, landlord or property agent).

The initial enquiry was made on the 3/3/2021 and subsequent survey carried out on the 15/3/21. At the time of the survey the clients’ benefits details had their old address on so we requested they update these and forward them on.

Unfortunately, we had to chase the client again for the evidence of their approved benefit with the current address on at the beginning of May.

As part of the grant process the loft insulation had to be upgraded to conform to the current regulations before any central heating work is carried out. Client was advised on 24/5/21 that the loft work would be carried out on 27/5/21. Upon arrival we found that the loft was full so the work was rebooked for 15/6/21.

During all the above Wales and West who are the third party and supply the gas to the building originally had issues booking a survey with the client. Their initial installation date agreed with the client was 1/7/21 but subsequently due to them running behind due to COVID19 the gas installation date was pushed back to the 13/7/21.

On the 1/7/21 new regulations were introduced by TrustMark (PAS2035:2019) which meant that we would have to carry out additional checks and surveys with an independent third part assessor. Due to the delays with Wales & West we had crossed the deadline of 30/6/21 and had no option but to resubmit this grant under the new standard.

Wales & West missed their installation date and reappointed for 28/7/21. Upon Wales & Wests site visit two days before the installation they applied for the road closure application with Cornwall Council, but they were informed that due to COVID19 and a backlog at the council the applications were now taking up to 3 months.

The client was contacted on the 28/7/21 and was advised of this. Understandably the client was not happy about this and was given the opportunity to cancel the application should they wished. The client said he wished to proceed. At this stage it was implied that we were “fobbing” the client off but at no point had any of the facts been altered.

We received a call from Wales & West stating that the client had called them directly to verify what we had said, but they had failed the security check.

We contacted the client to discuss and agreed a new installation date.

A new installation date was agreed and booked in with Wales & West for 3 Nov 2021.

The assessment under the new regulations was carried out and the independent assessor advised that the building was listed. The client was unaware that the building was listed and under the new regulations it was deemed that the work could not be carried out.

The client was clearly upset that after all the work we had put into securing the funding Carbon Saving Group would not be able to proceed further with the work.

We advised the client to talk to Cornwall Council directly as they have their own ECO funding department and may be able to help, we also recommended a couple of local companies in the area.

Due to all the delays by Wales & West they did offer the client some compensation which he duly accepted.

We have scored you Average, because we feel that despite having no choice in the matter of having Gas Central Heating or not, the best we could of hoped for was a system that would be easy to use, where we could set our own settings without issues,!!. However since it's been installed, we have had on-going problems with the Thermostat control, we have tried it on Auto, we have tried it on Manual, but the heating comes on for a while but then switches off, & does not stay on for the time we want it too. The Hot water, is either boiling hot, or just over hand hot, if we go too high the boiler makes pressure noises, if we go too low, we have luke warm water & cold radiators,
Also some of the cladding has since come unstuck in places, the joints are not even, we still feel the boiler is too big, we have seen other boilers installed for our neighbours, they seem to have much better set ups then us,
Sorry if this is not what you expected but, you asked us to be honest.

New install - Boiler and 7 Rads plus Nest

The survey could be improved but Covid may have created some problems. 2 Days install was carried out by a knowledgeable experienced and efficient team. Impressed. 7 Radiators and 24kw Ideal Boiler. Requested a Nest as I use Android, however, you should be aware that the unit does not come with a cable so a bit difficult if you pay for installation it cannot be connected. As it was the Electrician had an old cable in his Vehicle so as he can program and install it. Have had only the use of heating for 6 weeks. As water is a scarce commodity, thought should be given to how it runs around the house, especially in the kitchen, as it takes an age to obtain hot water which wastes more water than normal and so you need to keep your dishes, etc until you have a pile. As regards morning shaves if you need hot water - use a kettle.

Very efficient and pro-active

I contacted them to ask about cavity wall insulation under the Government's Green Homes Grant. After a phone conversation I ended up getting cavity wall insulation, a massive increase in loft insulation, underfloor insulation and a new boiler too under the Energy Company Obligation grants. I had to contribute a few hundred pounds but massively less than the work would have cost and we not only felt the benefit over the Winter, but the house is cooler now. The work was done quickly and efficiently once funding was in place. The only issue we had was that the surveyor did not spot that the boiler flue was not legal and exited the house over a neighbours boundary so there was a delay in getting a roof modification to move the flue. Overall though, thoroughly recommended

Mixed

My review is mixed. My dealings with the group, the fitters and the customer service team were good. They were friendly and helpful and if the review was solely down to that then I would rate more highly but it became apparent over a year later, during a service, that the filter I had paid for to protect my central heating and water system had not been installed. When I contacted customer services they apologised and sent out an engineer to fit one. Having payed for the extended warranty, which the filter was a requirement of, it leaves me worried about any harm caused and the longevity of the system.

Staff excellent from 1st contact. very helpful over phone . Always polite, patient and treat you as an individual.
The installation team very helpful over phone, and on site the staff were friendly and informative. I left them to it, with confidence they would complete the job to a high standard, which they did. My experience has been nothing but positive, than you all for your professionalism.
