Harassed by their salesman . Told them not interested yet repeated calls. The calls from cardinal were disguised as local to my area in Connecticut.

They only send notices by mail....have to submit docs through a 3rd party if there is a problem with the mortgage payments They billed and took $4200 extra dollars out of my bank account on Dec.1..I corrected the issue and they said all was good. I have to wait until Dec.17th for the money to be approved and then the only way to get it is by mail. That was my Christmas money for my family. They removed it from my account but can only mail it back..no emails or phone calls about the original issue so I didn't pick up on it until it was too late. When I asked, they said everything they do is by mail, I should have stayed with Penny Mac... You have been warned!!!

My experience began soon after the application was submitted, with one of the most inept professionals I've come in contact with. First he kept insisting that my promissory note needed to be signed and dated by my lender. I had to explain that only the maker of a note needs to sign, which is myself.
Next he wanted my income tax returns. I told him I was on SS and wasn't required to file. He said that was a misnomer and per IRS SS income did have to be filed. So I sent copies of my year end 1099's which clearly state my SS income doesn't require filing. He had no choice but to become quiet on that subject.
By now I was getting concerned at his lack of knowledge. And it wasn't over yet.
I needed an FHA appraisal transferred from another lender, they are good for 120 days. He was worried it wouldn't transfer in time. I told him FHA allows a 30 day extension, if loan approved before the 120 days expires. He wanted to know where I got that from. I replied, do a search...FHA Appraisal 30 day extension. This is someone who handles FHA loans.
His emails exhibited more and more attitude each time I showed him he was wrong.
Finally I had enough when he told me FHA requires charge offs to be paid. I told him FHA rules state they don't have to be paid off, but once again he insisted.
After this exchange I cancelled. I've never experienced anything quite like this, having to educate someone who lacks knowledge of the product their selling.
I sympathize with all the people whose loans were affected by his misinformation.
I saved all the email correspondence between us, in the event that he denies anything.

Melissa is a great person to work with! She is very friendly, helpful, efficient, and responsible. She is always available. We are so pleased with her service. She is definitely the best.

After I submitted an online application with Lending Tree, Chris Clark at Cardinal Financial was one of the very first lending representatives to contact me. His follow-up questions were clear and concise and he moved the process along faster and with a better cost structure than any lender. I was very impressed with their online system, Octane, and the docu-signing made remote documents easy and timely to close. Highly recommend.

Molly worked with me to help our family obtain the home of our dreams. We couldn't have asked for a better loan originator. She was on our side and helped make the process seamless and the transition much less stressful then we had originally anticipated it to be.
