Just had a fantastic couple of days away staying at Hadrian’s Wall. I cannot recommend Carlisle campers highly enough. From the initial booking, to the hand over and the actual van itself everything was excellent. The van is equipped with everything you could possibly need. We were nice and cosy even when it was almost freezing on the first night and 40mph winds on the second. We now understand what all the hype is about VW campers! If you are thinking about hiring one then don’t look any further as you won’t get better service anywhere else.

This was our second time using a van from Tim and Jenny, this time we had the blue van. Took it to Edinburgh for Hogmanay and had an amazing time. Van was clean, tidy and ready to go with everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised how cozy we were in the van too. Highly recommend and plan to keep being returning customers. Thanks again

This was our first hire from Carlisle Campers and we were very impressed by the service we received. The communication from Tim & Jenny was excellent and all our questions were answered quickly. We hired the blue T5 which was comfortable and lovely to drive and had all the facilities and equipment we needed for our 3 day trip. We think the hire rates are great value for what you get and would definitely recommend Carlisle Campers to anyone thinking of hiring a campervan. We hope to hire again in 2026.

My Son and I have just come back from a weekend trip to Callander and Blair Athol in Scotland in the Silver T5.1 van. Tim and Jenny are very friendly and helpful and the experience couldn't have been better. The van was very clean and well equipped, everything we needed including tea and coffee. The van was very fuel efficient and drove well around some smaller roads in Scotland. The hire prices are very reasonable and worth every penny. I would highly recommend.

We hired the T5 camper van for our 11 night adventure on the NC500. It was the first time we had hired a camper van and were so grateful for the friendly and helpful service Jenny and Tim provided throughout. They run a small, family business and offer a great bespoke service. The camper van was really well equipped with thoughtful touches (dog treats and salt and pepper!) and it was fuel efficient and powerful/nimble enough to navigate the Highland roads. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend them!

Have hired with Carlisle Campers twice now and wouldnt go anywhere else. Prices are great, the vans are brilliant and have everything you need for your travels. We hired the t5 last year and the newer automatic model this year and both were so great to drive and fantastic on fuel. The website is very clear and if you have any questions, Tim and Jenny are excellent at answering them. We have had the best time travelling scotland using this company and would highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you very much Carlisle Campers!

Friendly And easy to book and reasonable Price

Couldn’t recommend Tim, Jenny and Carlisle Campers enough.
Just completed 13 days doing North Coast 500 with 2 of us and golden retriever.
Everything from initial booking, contact , collection, and drop off was easy, friendly, and helpful- certainly more personable than bigger rental companies. Loved the little touches, such as treats for the dog.
The van itself (T5) was great, well furnished, (table, chair, fridge, cutlery), clean, great value + economical and dealt well with the highland roads and the bealach na Bá!

My 2nd hire from Carlisle Campers , had the T4 in May and T5 in September to do the NC500. Had a brilliant time (despite the weather) and Tim and Jenny were very friendly and helpful again. I can recommend both vans , both drive great , are comfortable and very good on fuel consumption. I wouldnt hesitate to use them again and hoping to do so for a few days in winter. Just hired Tim and Jenny's T4 VW Campervan. A great van and these are great people to deal with. Very polite and courteous and answered all our questions quickly. First time campervaner's so had a few! Van ran brilliantly and nice to know had full breakdown coverage etc for piece of mind. Only did around 400 miles over to east coast Kielder then up to Berwick but made it all the more relaxing. Great price too. Thanks guys, will see you again.

Very easy to deal with and great service from Tim and Jenny. We hired the Mazda bongo and it was perfect for a trip to the highlands. We had 2 days in glencoe then one night in Strontain followed by two nights on Mull we then returned to mainland and had one more night in Glencoe, it was a very prompt return of our deposit after we had returned the van .Will definitely use this company again.

We have just had 3 nights away in the T5 camper van owned by Carlisle Campers.
Jenny and Tim were great hosts, showed us everything we needed to know about the van, it was fully equipped with everything you need and spotlessly clean, and treats for Vinnie.
We have had a fabulous three days, so if you’re looking to hire a van, look no further! Highly recommend!

We hired the T5 for a 11-day trip to Islay and Jura. The van is compact but very well laid out. It had everything we needed. Jenny and Tim were very friendly from the first contact, booking was easy with a small deposit, and the balance wasn't due until just before our trip. A lovely touch from Jenny was a packet of meaty strips for Douglas, our Border Terrier when we arrived to collect the van. We drove along some wonderful small roads on Islay and Jura and the van coped well with the rough terrain. We found it easy to drive and park and it was a real home from home.

If you’re looking for campervan hire with a personal touch, then look no further than Carlisle Campers. Right from the start, communication with Jennifer was clear, informative and punctual and as newbies to campervan hire, their YouTube video was extremely useful to us. The check-in process couldn’t have been simpler, with a great and friendly explanation of how everything worked. Despite its age, the van was in superb condition, easy to drive, reliable, good value for money and contained all the necessary bits and pieces you would need for a trip away (including picnic chairs and table). Jennifer and Tim have clearly put a lot of effort into their family business, which they run from home and we cannot recommend them highly enough

Hired my first campervan to travel around Dumfries & Galloway for 4 days with Carlisle Campers VW T4. I recently rented a campervan from Carlisle Campers for a weekend getaway to the Lake District, and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. Tim and Jenny, the owners, went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect from start to finish.

From the moment I made the booking, communication was seamless. Tim and Jenny were incredibly accommodating, even offering to pick me up and drop me off at the train station, which made the whole process so much easier for me.

The campervan itself was a dream. As the first renter of their new converted VW T5, I was impressed by the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness that went into the design. It was comfortable, cozy, and had everything I needed for a memorable trip with my kids.

Exploring the stunning landscapes of the Lake District was made even more enjoyable thanks to the convenience and comfort of the campervan. Whether we were cooking meals in the well-equipped kitchenette or cozying up for the night, it truly felt like a home away from home.

Overall, I can't recommend Carlisle Campers enough. Tim and Jenny's hospitality, combined with the quality of their campervans, made for an unforgettable experience. I'll definitely be returning for another adventure in the future!

I had to cancel my booking due to personal circumstances, but Carlisle Campers were fantastic and so supportive with everything! I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Recently we hired the Mazda bongo, for a trip to knockhill racing circuit to watch BSB. Everything from start to finish was no bother for Jenny and Steve. As first time van users we had a fantastic time. The weather was kind to us too. The van was comfy for the two of us, everything is provided including all pots and pans, we also hired towels and bedding which was easier then having to pack our own. We can’t recommend carlisle campers enough

Enjoyed another trip in Bongo May 8th’ — May12th.Travelled parts of Lancashire and Yorkshire and visited friends as well.The camper was as smooth and comfy as before. Good value and works out about £80 per night including site fees. Easy to recommend.Makes for good adventures. From Roger at Workington.
