Es wurde fÌr Sitter umgestellt auf Rover. ACHTUNG: vorher brauchte man kein Kleingewerbe oder eine Zulassung. Bei Rover benötigt man eine ZULASSUNG (Sachkundenachweis und Kleingewerbe) und muss sich bei den örtlichen Behörden erkundigen.
Wer das nicht weiÃ, auf den kann ein saftiges BuÃgeld zukommen!!
Das ist eine Frechheit und darauf wurde bei der Umstellung NICHT hingewiesen. Damit hat sich der Sitterjob erledigt!!

Charging £24 to become a cat sitter - rubbish
I have been using Cat in a flat for a year and find it very helpful as a cat owner, and it was very easy to use. But today when I was trying to register as a cat sitter my own, it suddenly asks for a £24 one-time profile review fee and for ID verification and quality assurance - this is such ridiculous service fee! Especially on the front page of the site there's a big banner saying "joining the cat sitting community for FREE" and it was free when I first find the app and it seems start charging since Rover.com take over it... gonna drop the app, it's a shame!

Used to be good - merger with Rover terrible
Have used Cat in a Flat for years and it used to be great but their merger with Rover has been appalling in every way. Website is now terrible, very hard to use since the Rover update. Prices have gone through the roof, plus Rover also now add a huge 15% to every booking. AND the charges for a booking that I'd made for 6 months in the future has just been taken out of my account! What the heck!!

This merge with Rover has ruined Cat in a Flat
Until a few days ago, I would have rated Cat in a Flat a five star business. I've been a cat sitter for 6+ years with them and have earned thousands, duly paying the business 19% of every single booking I've had. Which is why I'm so furious at Cat in a Flat's total lack of communication, customer care, and complete absence of their promised '24/7 support'.
On 8th April 2026, the CiaF site (quietly and without fanfare) merged with Rover. The app and website used by cat sitters has been left unusable and inaccessible for over 24 hours: private messages with cat owners vanished, in-progress bookings unable to be checked on. Numerous animals left alone in their empty homes while cat sitters struggled to find other methods to talk to cat owners - because, as per the CiaF guidelines, all communication should be kept within the app.
The only place that CiaF is apparently speaking to their users is on Instagram - again, not via their feed or stories, but solely in the form of copy-pasted comment replies to hundreds of angry, confused and frustrated cat sitters. There has still been ZERO communication with their client base. No mass email alerting users to the upcoming merge. No mass email apologising for the shoddy and problematic way in which it's been handled. No mass email offering guidance to using an entirely new website/app/booking system on Rover's platform. No explanation of why so many sitters can no longer access the profiles, reviews, repeat bookings and clients they've spent years building.
This is a shameful handling of a messy and ill-prepared business takeover. I have current clients that I CANNOT CONTACT because of this. I am looking after their pets right now and can't speak to them. We deserve answers and apologies.

After building my profile and reputation for years, Cat in a flat had to ruin it over night by moving all their cat dedicated sitters to a DOG sitting site, which has a lack of settings adapted to cat sittings and cat sitters profiles are not area specific and just lost in the ocean of dog walkers.

Rip Off
I have been using Cat in a Flat as a sitter for a couple of years. The platform was generally ok to use until thisyear (March/April 2026) since joining with the USA-owned Rover company the apps and websites for BOTH Cat in A Flat and Rover have become completely non-functional.
I have tried repeatedly to contact Cat in a Flat but am met with AI walls and no way to speak to a real human.
My profile is currently "under review," which is deeply problematic as I am currently doing a lengthy sit that was booked through Cat in A Flat, i.e. I have to break Cat in a Flat's rules re communication in order to keep owners updated.
Furthermore, if anything were to go wrong with the sit I have literally no recourse as there is no way to contact the company who charge both me the sitter and the cat owners hefty fees to use the service. I do not understand what that money is going towards if there is no helpline, no insurances, and only a very basic identity check. Cat in a Flat is basically "UBER for pet sitters" - it isn't good for sitters, and it isn't good for pet owners.

Make friends with your pet neighbours!
Honestly, I wouldn't used this company anymore and now it's being taken over by an American company, Rover. I've just been on their site and the fees are very expensive. I'd advise anyone to become friends any any of your neighbours who've pets and share the sitting with them, as I have been doing for a couple years now.
The company itself, is not the easiest to contact when there's an issue and trying to get your password reset, was beyond frustrating, as you'd never get the email to reset it. Hopefully people will wake up to it now being over taken by Rover and realise is all just about getting as much money of your as possible.

Worst cat sitter in 30 years!
My husband and I were very upset following Christmas break (paying £36 per visit/daily) to find that our cat had no water, her back up water dish was missing (which was a first with our cat sitters), her litter tray was not topped up, nor lid put back on. Here is a video of the bone dry water fountain (who knows how long she didnât have water?). We got 1 picture of our 8 month old cat on the last day, and it was unrecognisable. Clearly, she was in a hurry.
Also attaching video clip of our cat then gulping water after I filled up the fountain. I was an hour late to work sorting our poor kitten out. It was heart-breaking.
Charlotte says on her website you get âdouble cuddlesâ - but letâs be real - thatâs a lie. Legally, it is misrepresentation. My husband asked her about the âdouble cuddlesâ. She replied that it is either her OR Oliver who come to visit, not both. She made this clear to us.
Also, they charge for every little thing. For example, if you book within 2 weeks, thereâs an extra charge. If you want to do a meet & greet and give her keys, thereâs a £15 charge! We have other cat sitters, none do that! In fact, in 30 years that I have had cats, no one has tacked on so many additional charges!
She apologised for the neglect of our cat over Christmas and refunded us for the last day. She left a message saying she loves to cat sit Mila. Therefore, we were willing to continue to hire her for 3 weeks later when we were taking care of my disabled sister. However, when we reached out to her to pay her, she gave a poor excuse that she couldnât take care of our cat. I asked her if it was just for this trip in 3 weeks time or âfor the rest of 2026â. She said âthatâs correct, I will not be able to cat sit Mila for the rest of 2026â and this was a âpersonal decisionâ and âdue to family commitmentsâ. She then exited the group chat with my husband (without telling us). Completely unprofessional. We would 100% NOT recommend her.
We would, however, HIGHLY recommend Zoey at Premier Pet Care London. She covered for Charlotte and did so at the last minute and at nearly half the cost! She sends loads of pics and videos. Gives lots of cuddles and is genuinely a wonderful human being.

Leider eine sehr schlechte erste Erfahrung bei Cat in a Flat gemacht und daraufhin eine negative aber der Wahrheit entsprechende Bewertung bei der Katzensitterin abgegeben. Es wurde gesagt diese wird nach Beendigung des Falls veröffentlicht, dies ist jedoch bis heute nicht passiert. Somit kein Wunder, dass alle dort nur 5 Sterne Bewertungen haben und man sich kein ehrliches Bild der Sitter machen kann.
Mehrere erfolglose Versuche gestartet...
Bis jetzt ist es zu keiner Buchung gekommen, da die Sitter entweder abgesagt haben, oder sich gar nicht erst gemeldet haben. Ich habe es mehrmals versucht (2024 + 2026)und jetzt aufgegeben.
Lieber in der Nachbarschaft o.À. nach jemanden suchen!

No Response to the Cat Sitter or Cat Owner
The company claim they respond to you within 48 hours. This couldnât be further from the truth.
Our cat sitter can no longer attend and weâve had no response at all over the past week.
Me and my pregnant wife go away for th weekend tomorrow and we have another sitter to cover but because we must follow the process of the app we canât book them in on the same dates.
Iâm writing in the hopes that this reaches the right people as there is still time to resolve this

Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Cat in a flat. I went above and beyond with cat sitting over Christmas. The client had some issues and left me a bad review, they wonât take this review down. Normally this would be okay but they took my review of them down. I have contacted support more that 7 times now with no response. An update would be appreciated but they have gone silent. I have cat sit for this company for 4 years continuously getting great feedback. This has disappointed me greatly and If I still donât get this matter sorted out shortly I will have to take my work elsewhere.

Nogmaals een bericht gestuurd naar 1 van de aanbieders dat ik geen reactie had ontvangen en of ze mijn verzoek ontvangen had. Krijg je een reactie met ânee ik ben niet beschikbaar die periodeâ. Werk je agenda bij en reageer gewoon op een verzoek!

I wouldn't recommend this platform to anyone that tryly care about their cats.
I had to rent out a cat sitter last minute while away and found this website that first inspired me confidence thanks to their charts of confidence : visit between 20 to 30 minutes, feeding, watering, playing with the cat (the basics) and pictures sent at each visits.
During the three days the cat sitter came to ours, none of those rules were respected. Visits never lasts barely reached 10 minutes; first visit, no play time with the cat so I had to expressely request it for the next visit; however on the third and last visit the cat sitter barealy stayed 5 minutes, didnt play and didn't even send us pictures.
The matter has been raised to the website (one month ago) and they still haven't done any actions.
