Chatdeal is a rip-off. My flight was postponed then canceled. Chatdeal refused to reschedule. Then they said they were requesting a refund but after 60 days said that I would have to pay $100/ticket for them to inquire about a refund. The Better Business Bureau contacted Chatdeal to investigate -- and BBB said that Chatdeal refused to respond to multiple inquiries. DO NOT USE CHATDEAL.

This company runs a bait and switch operation.

I initiated a booking with Chatdeal on October 30, 2022 (booking # J4fece5). I received an email at 8:52 PM on Oct 30th from Maggie at Chatdeal regarding a change in fee, asking if I would like to proceed with the booking:

“Hye,

I hope you are doing well.

This is regarding your booking with Raavi, There are delay charges included - 50$ per the policies. Shall we go ahead and charge your card for the booking?

Please advice us about the same via chat/mail, so that we can proceed with other processes.”

I became concerned that this was a bit of a scam, in part due to misspellings in the email, as well as because this seemed like a bait and switch. Thus, I sent an email response at 9:14 PM on Oct 30th stating:

“No thank you. This is no longer the cheapest option with the fee. You can cancel the booking.”

I thus ASSUMED (as any reasonable person would) THIS BOOKING WAS NOT PROCESSED, ASTHEY DID NOT HAVE MY PERMISSION TO PROCEEED. I never received an email back from the company to alert me that my original booking wasn’t cancelled. I then proceeded to book the travel on October 31st on another website, gurufare. Apparently, however, gurufare and chatdeal ARE THE SAME PARENT COMPANY. I now have 2 bookings for the same travel and both chatdeal and gurufare (TRAVEL OUTLET). I only discovered the original booking was processed when I found the duplicate charge on my credit card.

I am told I can't cancel the chatdeal booking because they have a "no cancellation policy" that was in effect when I clicked book (and that their subsequent email did not void that commitment). If I cancel my gurufare booking instead, I will be charged >$1300 in fees ($900 in airline and $400 in agency fees) per their cancellation policies.

I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and the federal trade commission. THESE ARE SHAM OPERATIONS.

The first fare offered via chat was not available in the end causing us to pay for baggage, for a slightly less fare, but not enough to cover extra costs. Now, I've seen a schedule change on the airlines site for over a week. Which I hav yet to be informed of from ChatDeal. Now, a week ago I reached out to them regarding the change. Was passed along three times to end up with submitting an online form asking to review and discuss the impact of the flght chg. And not a response yet. Attempted to email original agent, that bounced. And other attempts to email Customer Service. All emails bounced. Service is difficult and lacking.

Absolute garbage. Inexistent customer service, very inflexible to change flights even when options are available. Tickets may look decently priced but be ready for a nightmarish experience

I bought a plane ticket with Chatdeal through kayak.com. The day before the trip my flight got cancelled. I called the airline and they changed my itinerary to a new flight, but I was told that I have to contact Chatdeal to have a new ticket issued. Chatdeal charges $50 to for such changes, even in the case of a flight cancellation. However, it was not even possible to pay them and get a new ticket. I called them and spent 3.5 hours on hold before giving up. They also advertise that one can contact them via text chat, but the chat does not work. I bought a new ticket directly from an airline to avoid the displeasure of dealing with Chatdeal anymore. It was an expensive lesson on what to avoid.

Update: Soon after writing this review I was contacted by Chatdeal and I was offered a full refund of the ticket price. The refund was processed promptly, it showed on my credit card statement within a week. I still incurred the cost of buying a new ticket (at a higher price, since it was a last-minute purchase) and the frustration of not being able to change my original ticket when I needed to do it. However, I appreciate that the refund was issued quickly and without any further difficulties.

CHATDEAL IS BAD DEAL !!!!

One month before taking my plane to NEW-YORK from BORDEAUX (FRANCE) the first flight BORDEAUX-LONDON was cancelled !!!! after severals answers no response !!! Nothing, Nada, Rien.... So what can i do ? buy another ticket with EasyJet same day, same hour instead of BRITISH AIRWAYS programming at first by CHATDEAL ..... Is cost me 200euros for 3 persons, so 6 hundred euros !!! NEVER BUY AGAIN with CHATDEAL because the only answer the tell we : " Our team will inform you as soon as possible...." Thank you Kerry for doing nothing !

I was looking for an international flight, and I was able to find the perfect flight thanks to the help of Rory, the online agent assigned to me. I'll definitely use Chatdeal again!

I'm scheduled to fly out of NYC in a few days (12/17), and I contacted the airline to inquire about a rescheduled flight. The airline told me that even though my flights were booked and paid for on 11/5, ChatDeal never officially confirmed my flight, so I don't actually have a flight ticket. I have spent the past 24 hours trying to get assistance from someone at ChatDeal, but the instant chat buttons on the ChatDeal site don't work. I emailed all 3 email addresses at the bottom of the "contact" page on the ChatDeal website, and two of the emails bounced back ("address not found"; "Your message wasn't delivered to ............. at chatdeal.com because the address couldn't be found, or is unable to receive mail". I tried to call the help number on the site, but it wouldn't take my call "because it could not recognize my telephone number" (I double checked the number on my booking, and its correct). I also messaged them through their site and never heard back. So then I contacted Kayak, and they couldn't help (even though its a "partnership") because the booking, even though it was placed from Kayak and didn't take me to another vendor's site like it does with Expedia or other vendors, was technically placed with ChatDeal. Not only that, but when I look into my reservations, it says that I have booked 10 seats on a flight, not 2, and the cost is over 50K. (At least my credit card was properly charged for only the 2 tickets last month, but what is going on? I asked Kayak about that and they said that they too, see my reservation for 10 tickets, (it actually went up to 14 tickets while I was on the phone with them, now its at 18) but only 2 passengers, and they said that someone will get in touch with someone at ChatDeal about it, and "hopefully someone at ChatDeal will reach out to me". (I never heard back from anyone) If this issue weren't so pressing, then it would be comical.
I will never use this service again. It's sad, because I have used Kayak on dozens of occasions, and for over a decade, but I will not trust them or any of their "partners" again.

UPDATE: I sent an email to ChatDeal yesterday, and instead of replying to me, they came here to trustpilot and updated the response to my review stating: "UPDATE : We would like to confirm that the inquiry was resolved and flights were confirmed to depart as scheduled."
The funny thing is that not only were my outbound flights never confirmed (2 tickets), but I had to buy last minute flights at the airport to get to Amman in time for a work project. I emailed ChatDeal yesterday to ask for a reimbursement and they responded by coming to this review site and basically "closing the case". This is the first time in my life that I have written a bad review and I hate doing so, but ChatDeal is compelling me here. If you care about your image, why not reach out to me and help me to reconcile this issue ChatDeal?

DIAMOND was awesome. I had pretty specific requests about my travel to Namibia from Houston, and she worked hard to make sure every part of my journey was just what I wanted. Hopefully the actual journey will go just as well!

Booked tickets through Chatdeals.I bought their support package $100. What a scam. I thought I could either cancel, or change my flight, what a mistake!
Cannot do anything for me, they are a complete rip-off and will not help me in any way! Please look at their reviews……

I was contacted by Chat Deals via this site and submitted an email. Heard nothing since. Called twice into their customer service spending several hours waiting online. I found the flights I wanted ( gone down by $500 each) but was not allowed to book them without paying 1k each to change) so weird as Finnair only charges $100 - $500 to make changes. I am still waiting for a call back from
a Customer Service Supervisor ( been over 24 hours so far) What did I pay for the support package for?????
Finally was contacted 9pm Sunday 11th, told there was no availability. ( of course if they contacted me when they said they would (.nearly 2 weeks ago) there was availability then.. Customer Service availability virtually non existence. Don’t buy customer support package as no support!
Watch out for the word student on your ticket! Not sure what it means.

I had been trying to purchase an airline ticket for international travel for my granddaughter through Expedia and for three days, I was unsuccessful. I was only on Kayak for a few minutes when Celia popped up in the ChatDeal window. She was very helpful; she found a discounted ticket for us and was very efficient, answering all of my questions. Thank you Celia!!

I booked through Chat Deal while searching on Kayak. I purchased Roundtrip ticket from Cleveland to HYD. in Aug 2022 for my travel in Dec 2022. On Nov 7, I receive an email from Chatdeal saying that there is a change in the schedule. I wanted to accept the change but the button provided in the email never worked. I called the customer service and sent many email and no response. I am really worried about my booking because it is very important trip to India and I made a reservation 4 months ahead. If I have to make a new booking today, the prices are 2.5 times than what I have paid. I am planning to approach Ohio Attorney General and file a complaint against Kayak and Chatdeal if my Itinerary is not confirmed on time.
I sent emails and they never bother to respond.
The email I got from them is "Schedule change notification for K828D6B"

I was thoroughly impressed with the ease with which I was able to book with Chatdeals. Quite frankly, I was skeptical to start with but Raavi's prompt in the chat window made it so comfortable. She was handholding the booking right from the start and, most importantly, stayed till the booking was confirmed. She responded to all the questions very earnestly thwarting my skepticism all along the way to final booking. Impressed!
