ChessBaron レビュー

Brilliant service from a small business. The most efficient purchase and receipt of a fine item at a fair price, sent via reputable courier (FedEx) and received within 24 hours. Outstanding!

Ordered the Bara set of Triple Weighted Chess Pieces in Acacia/Boxwood and received them ahead of schedule, perfectly packaged. The photographs on website were enough to convince that they were just what I was looking for, and yet they exceeded my already high expectation. A world past my prior set in feel and aesthetic, and simply quite beautiful to hand and eye. I also ordered the Chess Board, Sheesham, 2inch squares, to accompany the Bara Set. This also arrived perfectly packaged and again, it is just beautiful. The support was exceptional also prior to the purchase. I review as I find and it is 5/5 in all respects. The Bara is a beautiful set by and worthy of consideration. My first purchase from ChessBaron but given the emphasis on quality, not my last. Pieces, Board and Company all bring highest recommendation. Thank you, Baron.

The following is my experience with this company and I will let you the reader make your own judgement.I initially bought Staunton chess pieces at a cost of £169 reduced from £369 (first red flag). They arrived reasonably packaged inside there were two white boxes. One of the boxes had begun to collapse and it appeared water had got to it although box was dry (second red flag).I then purchased chess board from the same company which is ok.Board arrives I get chess pieces out and they look and feel ok but on closer inspection discover the green felt on the base of about ten pieces had not been bonded very well at all ,the felt would curl when I ran my fingers across it.(third red flag).I have made the company aware of the situation and sent some photos .I have had no response from them and this is over a week ago.(fourth red flag).I made this purchase thinking it would be nice for my grandchildren to have when I pass,i have terminal cancer with I don't know how long to live.I do not want a refund and have bonded the felt myself to the pieces that required it.I got a letter with chess pieces thanking me for my purchase and some background about themselves (fifth red flag) on how they endeavour to be a good company etc.To put it plainly they are box shifters who import from India or somewhere and simply add their percentage to the price, sorry for all the red flags. So have I been treated fairly? and as I mentioned earlier I do not want a refund, sorry for all the red flags and looking forward to a game of chess with my grandchildren. One last point and it's something I should of done myself, use Trust pilot to check out the experiences of others with this company or any company and ignore the five star reviews, good luck.

Chessbaron and Baron himself were nothing short of excellent. We ordered an Onxy and Marble set as our family's first heavier set and it shipped very promptly. Unfortunately the set shipped to Canada from the UK via the US and US Customs tossed the set leaving it in absolute disarray and even broke two pieces. Unreal. We contacted Chessbaron and heard back same day and not only did they ship replacements immediately, but even sent two of the black pieces to ensure we had a piece with marbling consistent with the rest of the set's black pieces. It arrived promptly via FedEx. Above and beyond. Huge thanks to Baron for his help in making our situation right and for the amazing chess set! We'd highly recommend Chessbaron!

Just wow! Amazing price, quick delivery and stunning chess set. Yes 100% I would recommend. Even the storage box was beautiful. Massive thank you

What a fantastic looking chess set from Chess Baron. I bought a small Camelot chest set from them. The detail on the pieces is superb and the chessboard is a real work of art. From start to finish dealing with Chess Baron has been a pleasure. The order arrived sooner than anticipated and it was packaged really well. The presentation box that the pieces were packed is fantastic and also a nice little write up ads a touch of class to an already great product. I can highly recommend using Chess Baron. So if you want a really good quality, fantastic looking chess set or board these are the people to go to.

I purchased the ebony chess board with the rosewood edge and the Margaret Anne ebony and rosewood chess set.
It is a stunning set and I'm so happy with this purchase.
I liked that I could easily contact the seller via WhatsApp with questions and they responded quickly. They were very helpful and it felt like a personal service.
Couldn't recommend enough.

My 'metal' Isle of Lewis Chessmen arrived this morning as promised by the company. This is an incredible product, beautifully made and is a work of art in itself.
Even though these are replicas, I feel that I am holding pieces of history, having researched the originals in the British Museum. The name "metal" does not do these justice as they are wonderful. Customer service was outstanding too! Thank you so much ChessBaron.

Just received my order for 'World chess' travel set. Looks and feels great. Will be an excellent birthday present for my son. Well packaged and prompt delivery. Also enjoyed the personal message sent alongside. All round good experience to buy from an independent business. Have browsed the website many times and based on this purchase, will no doubt be back for another set!

I've now purchased 2 sets and boards, all are wonderful products, delivered promptly and I've found the customer service to be an absolute delight.

I ordered a black and white marble and onyx chess set, and it’s truly stunning. Every piece exudes exceptional quality and craftsmanship. It arrived elegantly packaged in a striking red bag, accompanied by a thoughtful handwritten letter.

Bought the kings cross Staunton in bone. Very happy with it, delivery was quick, and even came with a lovely custom message.

AVOID!!!
I bought what was supposed to be an official FIDE chess set, however it turned out to be either counterfeit or a reject. When compared to a real FIDE set, the pieces aren't weighted the same, of low quality and inconsistent heights. I contacted him to return the set, and after a few weird (unsolicited) WhatsApp messages from him, he blocked me. I will probably pursue with Citizens Advice/Trading Standards to resolve the matter.

I can’t begin to put into words how happy I am with my purchase. I have purchased the Sherlock Holmes chess set with accompanying chess board and I am absolutely thrilled with it. The craftsmanship and detail on the pieces is outstanding and the quality is second to none. The time and effort taken is evident in the finished product and can’t thank ‘Chess Baron’ enough for this wonderful set. I understand this is a family business and they must be so proud to be producing such excellent products. Thank you to all involved and for your outstanding customer service and the special touch of the notes I received , I will definately be recommending this company and purchasing more in the future. Thank you again for everything 🥰

Absolutely thrilled with my order from Chess Baron. The FIDE World Championship set, leather mat, and storage container all arrived in perfect condition. Delivery was fast, and the seller was super responsive and helpful throughout. Top-notch service and quality.

I reached out to Chess Baron for a replacement piece from a board I bought absolutely years ago.

I found them very helpful, and whilst the design of the piece had changed slightly over the years (not Chess Barons fault), they sent me out the replacement piece free of charge.

Really appreciate it.

Cheers,
Ryan.

Just received the World Chess Championship chess pieces that I ordered and I am very happy with them. Would definitely order from ChessBaron again.

I treated myself to the DGT Centaur as just getting back into chess! Wow, am super impressed - things have come along way since the 80’s electronic chess. Also glad I could use my own pieces (with the help of some foil stickers from Amazon) Communication via WhatsApp was immediate with good communication via email and super fast delivery. Would definitely use again!

Website was great to look through, prices were very reasonable and delivery time was great. The product itself looks absolutely amazing, just like advertised. That, combined with the handwritten message inside of the box, will definitely make me want to order again!

From the start ChessBaron has been very accommodating. Not only did they answer my questions quickly but the owner actually reached out to me to personally handle my questions. I ordered the Heavy Rosewood board which is absolutely beautiful and the Reynard the Fox chess set. The set and board arrived quickly. The quality of the set is excellent and the height of the king is quite impressive. I can honestly say I would definitely recommend ChessBaron if you are looking to buy a set!
Thank you ChessBaron for a most pleasant experience, I will look forward to working with you again.
