I met a number of interesting and charming ladies in a relaxed atmosphere. The event was well run. This was an over 60 event with 10 minutes with each person.

This is a terrible service. I attended one event and it was insulting. They do not have enough worthwhile men signing up. They report to match you after a "careful" analysis of your core beliefs and interests. I was matched up with the same exact people that every other woman was matched up with in the room. None of the men even remotely fit my preferences as far as politics, religion, education or professional status. I had nothing in common with any of them and was dying to leave. They also gouge you with charges after the fact. They misrepresent their matching techniques. Do not join this!

Beware CitySwoon. They do not give refunds, even when they themselves are the ones who cancel events. They'll give you a credit for a future event, but what if you don't want to attend?

Their algorithms set you up with people who never show up, are late, or disappear without warning. When I complained about this behaviour, they not only took no action, but gave me a warning and threatened to terminate my account.

In the past four months, I was assigned eight dates who chose to disappear. Two spent our assigned date in line waiting for a drink. Another chose that moment to "stretch her legs", though only for my round. At one event, five of my six assigned dates were no-shows. Again, no refund.

If you draw attention to disrespectful behaviour, CitySwoon will label YOU the problem and revoke your membership.

Give this company a VERY WIDE BERTH. They take your money, cancel events on the day and then tell you that you are not entitled to a refund but only a credit voucher. Outrageous, how can they refuse to refund you for a service not provided?! They also hoodwink you into signing up to their dating site to match with people at the event, then cancel the event. I politely asked for my money back. I told them that I felt they had mis-sold the dating service but they clearly only care about the money. They reluctantly refunded the event cost (they were obliged to do that by law) but not the £78 for the dating website as they said this is separate. It isn't! An absolute rip-off. If you want to try a really good face to face dating service events company then “It’s a Date” is excellent. I've attended an event which was excellent. DO NOT SIGN up to anything for City Swoon.

I have yet to go to an event but signed up to go next month. I noticed a $117 charge on my card which does not line up with the membership cost. Be aware!

I've been to five events and only to be told by women they're looking for friendship not sure what they're looking for or just passing through town and trying the event a lot of women show up only to get drunk for the night or to sleep around with the last guy at the very end of the night and catch an STD would not recommend going here it is 2 hour event women here don't respect men you're going to waste your time and night.

I came to one of their events with my backpack because I went from work to the gym, and from there to the event. I was informed that there wasn't a cost check and I would have to walk around the pub for 2h to find my matches with my heavy backpack, then I left.
Oh, they also emailed asking us to be there by 7:15, but when I got there, they said the event would start at 7:40. Had I known that, I would have gone home to shower and avoid the whole backpack situation.
The subscription also sucks. I paid for 3 months so I could.send and reply to messages but I never get any. Men my own age won't reply. It's extremely frustrating.

Watch out for their monthly account gouging.

$49 per month from 2nd month, unbeknown to me until the debit hit, where I then need to spend to MORE to attend an event...in other words no actual dates for my $49 and a single event would then be something approach $100.

If i could give 0 stars i would very easily !!!!!! Absolutely terrible company !!! They will not give you a refund if your not interested in attending and if you don't go your charged even more . So your basically forcing . They make it damn near impossible to get ahold of them to dispute anything and when you do it's through emails , so you have to argue over emails over YOUR MONEY which shouldn't even be up for discussion. They keep saying it's part of our policy and that it helps pay for venues . You are a customer service company that isn't for your customers and pretty much saying you have to go and hopefully you'll enjoy enjoy or dont go and we charge you more money. It's just a horrible way to run a customer service business. Which I see why they have terrible reviews and are so pressed to keep your money which isn't theirs to begin with. It's not right or fair to do this to anyone . You don't know people's circumstances or what they are going through . I truly hope they get a class action lawsuit against them for this and end up going under . How can you expect anyone to want to come back to you after you say you cant have YOUR MONEY back ? They said this is normal for businesses to run like this and event companies . Which is dont know of any company that doesn't offer a refund or at the worst charge a refund fee which is very rare . Something needs to be done about this immediately. They have no contact number which is ridiculous as well . I hope whoever reads this is able to to do something to them and get this fixed . Whoever arianne and Chris are from city swoon you both have no understanding of life and business ethics because you have completely and utterly have no regard for the next person and the fact that you said I'm not being forced when your policy says it's either go or be charged extra . Thats being forced and your stealing because I asked for my money more than 7 days in advance as stated in my emails and you won't give it back to me and are putting me in a situation where I pretty much have to go or try and give it to a friend which no acquaintance I know whould even attend something like this. They also use false advertisement which was confirmed when I actually went to an event and talked with the women there .

First time going to one of these and never again. I was offended with my matches. They don’t vet the men. One of them was absolutely plastered an hour into it. The organisers knew this as she brought him over to me. A bit lack of duty of care. He was belligerent and rude. He was actually cut off at the bar.
I bought a ticket and one month membership and they took another $49 the month after. After I disputed it they showed me screenshots but when I tried to look for it I couldn’t. They refused a refund even though I won’t be going back so all I’m getting for it is matches of men that are not my type. They brag about a high success rate but that is totally inflated and basically lies

Terribly structured dating events. It’s as if their events are designed to keep you single so you’ll come back and spend more money with them. Poor value, full of technical issues, don’t bother!

I have attended 3x, and here are the reasons why i rated it 2 stars:
1, Hosts often being late, and we don't have enough time to have "a conversation" already.
2, They dont have enough people to pair up. On some turns, someone has to sit alone. They have been doing this for a long while, it should be more organized.
3, Participants don't know the details of who you will be "dating" until "very last minute", and often don't even have time to look at the profiles.
4, The website is not user-friendly.
I love the idea of meeting in person though.

These idiots don't even show up to host the events. It's mostly unattractive people that no one wants to date anyway. One of the 2 hosts didn't bother to show up so none of the phone tech could be used. The other host announced that "we are gonna do it old school". I walked out. Garbage company. They're denying giving me a full refund but I'll get it, believe me.

I used City Swoon 3 times. The first two times were enjoyable. And reasonably priced. The second time was a little chaotic as there was an imbalance of numbers. I had to wait around after a few dates with little explanation before I asked why I had no date. It was explained to me I had a break due to uneven numbers. OK I thought. The third time was meant to be Tuesday 9th December 2025. After receiving text messages advertising a reduced ticket price due to more women booking than men!! I thought why not. Unfortunately due to unplanned emergency work I couldn't make it. I wasn't expecting a refund. But I did text to say I couldn't make it. I then received a no show fee of £10 for not attending!? I complained as I received no warning. My response from City Swoon was to tell me by email that is our policy. And basically it was because they needed balanced numbers. And it does mention the penalty when purchasing the ticket!! There was no empathy for my situation. And no understanding I am a returning customer with potential to tell my single friends about this alternative to speed dating! And also I might have booked many future events for far more than the £10 penalty because of policy!! So the numbers must balance when it suits!! I will never use City Swoon again!! Happy Christmas

I enjoyed my experience but the customer service is terrible!

I bought a ticket for a friend and he has to buy another ticket. They said it would be adjusted when we got there but this didn’t happen. I then was hoodwinked into a subscription. Dodged! I complained and they said- buyer be aware.

It’s not worth your time as a guy. Literally I was there for only one hour and 20 minutes because of a couple girl no shows.. and then they marched me with two dudes for a “friend” zone. Total waste of time and money

I would not use CitySwoon again. They are to expensive, charge a no show fee and I was not impressed with the set up, extremely poorly arranged and very negative vibe. The hosts acted as though they wanted to be somewhere else and had better things to do.

Cityswoon has continued to charge me $49 per month after I signed up for one event last year. I have only just noticed the withdrawal on my account yesterday. I emailed them and they responded with a screenshot of some details regarding membership and the print is so small you can't read it. So, this is clearly their business model, hide the on-going extra fees in the small print. I have contacted my bank and they are raising a dispute with Ezi debit to recoup this sneaking over charging.
