I completed a 7-day Machame route trek in October 2022 with Climbing Kilimanjaro and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The Climbing Kilimanjaro team was extremely professional and gave me complete confidence in my ability to make it to the summit while having an incredible time along the way. Omar, Selim and Barnabas were very knowledgeable and provided great insight into the history of the mountain, as well as the various terrain and climate zones we traversed.

Our entire team of porters had an infectious energy that made all of the hikers feel right at home. Our cook, Godfrey, kept us well fed and fueled for the trip with robust and well-rounded meals (highlight of the trip). Juma, our waiter, boosted morale with many unexpected creature comforts. By the end of the trip, we felt like a tight knit family.

Can’t recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro highly enough for anyone hoping to summit The Roof of Africa!

These guys are just simply put very good at what they do. I really couldn't have asked for more. We successfully made it to the summit as well.

I recently did the 8 day Lemosho trek with Climbing Kilimanjaro and had such a great time I can’t stop thinking about it! I can’t recommend this route or this company enough!
Re: the route— you get to see every ecological zone on Kili and each is so different and beautiful it’s well worth the longer trip to weave your way through the amazing landscape.
Re: Climbing Kilimanjaro — Our lead guide, Tumaini, and assistant guides — Edward, Thomas, Samuel, and Sheve — were truly fantastic. They are funny & kind and made us all feel immediately welcome and at ease. They are also knowledgeable and happy to share information about the mountain, about Tanzania, about the various cultures and identities, the Swahili language, and whatever else you’re curious about!
Outside of the guides, our porters were rockstars — carrying our duffles and supporting us every step of the way up the mountain. And we had fabulous chefs who provided us warm, delicious, and nutritious meals throughout the journey. I wasn’t expecting the food to be so good given the difficulties of cooking and camping but CK delivered some damn good meals! They really go above and beyond in every respect to ensure you have a positive experience.
In short, the CK team is filled with wonderful people who you’ll befriend quickly and will miss dearly after your climb! Their friendliness and their fun-loving spirits are contagious and really take the experience to the next level.
Even before starting the trek, Justin was so accommodating and helpful, taking the time to thoughtfully answer all my questions (and there were many!).
Choosing to climb with CK was the best decision I’ve made in my travels. Not only are they a great company who guarantees a great time on the mountain, but they're an upstanding company (and I'm convinced the best operator on the mountain) — taking good care of their porters and staff which is not something that can be said for every climbing company. I was specifically moved by how much Tumaini cared about the well-being of his team.

I recently came back from Tanzania with my family, from doing the Lemosho Route summiting to Mount Kilimanjaro on September 4th - September 11th. It was a trans formative experience we all had that will not be forgotten. It was shared with so many special people who all helped make this trip possible to complete the climb.

From what I observed from the supporting staff (Guides / Porters/ Chefs / Servers), They do not have an easy job, and I found it quite moving how hard everyone worked to make our experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Not only was 8 days on the mountain not an easy task, along with the physical, mental, and environmental strain, all the support staff I interacted with had an AMAZING attitude, happy to help, grateful, and was truly touching by getting to interact with them on a personal level to learn and grow as people and learn from one another's way of life. I also must add that they baked a cake and sang Happy Birthday to me, which was so moving it brought me to tears, making it a birthday I will always remember.

This was quite an amazing experience with a very impressive company!! The guides and porters did everything they could to ensure that our trip was safe, successful, and even comfortable. Everything was well organized and thought out to the final detail. Staff attitude was fantastic, and we all bonded together, staff and climbers alike. As a vegan, the cooks took extra care to provide satisfying meals for me. I honestly cannot think of anything that needed improvement. Well, a few members of my group complained that the zippers of their sleeping bags didn’t work properly. Others said that they slept cold. My sleeping bag worked fine and I was warm and comfortable all night, every night. But you might want to take the sleeping bag complaints into consideration and even consider bringing your own sleeping bag from home.

There was a total of 13 climbers in my group, and we did the Lemosho 8-day route from Sept. 4 - 11.

I had an amazing experience with Climbing Kilimanjaro! Daniel, Jonas, and Salim were incredible guides. They were very knowledgeable, charismatic, fun, and reassuring. Lots of laughs and good times on the trail with these guys! If you can get them specifically I'd highly recommend you do :) We felt cared for and well attended to the whole way, and I never for a moment felt that safety was a concern. The songs the team sang going up to the summit kept morale high! Everyone on the team made us feel like part of the family. The whole experience by Climbing Kilimanjaro was beautifully engineered, from the amazing meals, to the songs, to the sunrise from the summit (the best sunrise of my life) - very happy I chose to climb with them!

If you are looking for someone to take you to the top of this amazing mountain, I give "Climbing Kilimanjaro" my sincerest recommendation! Me and my girlfriend had a great time with them on a Machame-route expedition in june 2022.

My wife and I selected Climbing Kilimanjaro after tons of reviews and recommendations. We wanted to find a company that engaged in ethical employment and pay practices for their guides and porters and were happy to see that Climbing Kilimanjaro belonged to the appropriate organizations. From the initial scheduling and correspondence over email I was already impressed with the company. Upon arrival our guide George met us at the airport and took us to our hotel where we had an initial briefing on the climb the following day. George and our assistant guides Raymond and Johnathon were very knowledgeable, pleasant, and skilled in leading our group of 6. The porters are absolute mountain goats and it was impressive watching them scale the mountain with all manner of gear and backpacks while smiling and engaging with us. Kennedy our cook and Adolf the assistant prepared wonderful healthy meals to keep us energized for the climb.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend our crew and the company to any trekkers. My wife and I are both very fit (I an ultramarthoner) and live at altitude in Colorado so we did not find the trek that physically challenging. Aside from my wife having a bit of altitude sickness at the highest camp for a short spell, we did not have anything of note. Others in our group came from sea level with minimal trekking experience and definitely struggled a bit more. For those less experienced trekkers I would recommend following the company's posted training plan and putting some time on the trails in your area. George, Johnathon, and Raymond took care of the less experienced trekkers with great care, compassion, and leadership and were able to help the entire group summit with a 100% success rate for the group. A testament to the quality of human being you get to climb with!

If you are planning on going to trek Mount Kilimanjaro, then there is NO better crew than Climbing Kilimanjaro. The staff is thorough, well-trained, and the best guides on the mountain. I cannot say enough great things about George, our leader, and his two assistant guides Raymond and Jonathon. They made me feel safe, even on the more difficult parts of the trek, prepared for all challenges one endures while climbing, and mostly we had so much fun with them during this life-changing experience.

My dad is 68 and had trouble at some parts of the climb. George literally held his hand at times, Raymond and Jonathon held his daypack, and all encouraged him and told him they would not let him quit until he reached the top. They are SO passionate about what they do, SO well-prepared, and THE BEST Tanzania has to offer. If there were more than 5 stars, I would give it because they are part of what made the trip so memorable.

Lastly, I cannot say enough about how impressed we all were with the porters. They carried our bags and camping equipment every day with the biggest smiles on their face. They would greet us after the days climb with high-fives, hugs, and a positive attitude that was contagious. They would help us put on our gear in the morning, help pack us up, and even assisted us climbing down the mountain after we summited. I have the utmost respect for them and all they did to make our adventure as simple as possible for us.

If you are planning on climbing Mount Kilimanjaro you will face a lot of hardships. It is a mountain after-all. However, the Climbing Kilimanjaro group will make your journey efficient and organized, make you fall in love with the people of Tanzania as much as the scenery, and help you accomplish your bucket-list goal of reaching the top. This company made the experience worth it, I cannot express that enough. Choose them, and you won't regret it.

Barnabas and his team took us on the 7-day Lemosho route up to Uhuru Peak. The route took us through lush rainforest with monkeys, moss, and birds; a light (almost Mediterranean) pine forest; a carpet of wildflowers on a plateau with sweeping views; and a barren moonscape. The hikes were all manageable—pole,pole (slowly,slowly) for the uphill and steady on the downhill. Only the final ascent was a real challenge, as was the altitude sickness on days 2 and 3. The 19-person team pampered the four of us with cooked multi-course meals three times a day in a dedicated mess tent, the luxury of a bathroom tent, and steady encouragement when we faded during a hike. Barnabas’ experience and calm was a big plus. Overall, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for anyone with even just moderate fitness!

I just wanted to personally reach out to thank the whole Climbing Kilimanjaro team for one of the greatest experiences of my life. Literally every single person from start to finish was extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable. I wanted to highly acknowledge Isaack Munuo for literally being just the best guide possible. Without Isaack I would not have made it. He was wise by educating us not only on what to expect next but he educated us on different tribes and the history of Kilimanjaro. Also, Raymond Twati and Razaack for being extremely personable and helping me learn Swahili. (Quizzed me every night on anything they taught me during breakfast). Without those two I also would have never made it. Ali and Adolf and the two porters (Samwells) were some of the others who I would like to recognize for their excellence in working so hard, having amazing temperaments and also being so personable through the entire trek. I could go on and on about the experience I had but it would have never happened without all of these guys' help. So again, thank you so much for everything. I will pass on my experience to others and tell them about your company. If there is anyone in the future who would like to talk to someone who used Climbing-Kilimanjaro I would be happy to speak with them as a reference.

Highly recommend this company to climb Kilimanjaro. During arranging the trip, the team responds quickly to questions and provides a lot of information on preparing the trip. Everything is arranged with attention to details such as pick-ups, briefing on the climb, gear check, great hotel (for before and after the climb) and drop off at the airport. During the climb itself, all the guides, cooks and porters work really hard and they have a great energy on the mountain (always smiling and singing). The guides are very knowledgeable and share insights on the nature and tips on how to make it up the mountain. The cooks make great meals every day with variety in them (didn’t expect this upfront). The porters do a great job in organizing the camp and making sure that is completely set up when arriving there, e.g. water supplies or toilet (even in rainy and windy conditions). The value that the company provides for the price range is absolutely great. Barnabus and his team made it an unforgettable trip. So overall, I highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro for a great Kili trip!

My 72-year old father and I recently returned from the trip of a lifetime, summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro together with Climbing Kilimanjaro! They were an absolutely fantastic company, and every detail of our trip was well organized, from the two-day safari we did with their guide Emmanuel to the 8-day Lemosho route trek with head guide Barnabas. All the staff, from the guides, cook, porters and others were friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely efficient and organized. Everyone worked so hard and as a team to make our trip run smoothly. The meals were fantastic, the tent sites were carefully selected, and the guides were very good at keeping our group on just the right pace to acclimate to the altitude. I highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro to anyone!

10/10 would recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro. Justin was helpful with organizing transfer to and from Nairobi and even organized a private transfer on short notice when my flight was delayed. Traveling solo was no problem as there's a big group of guides and porters around you, as well as other potential clients.

The team on the mountain was utterly professional and knowledgable of the surroundings. They made all the difference when it came to comfort and facilitating for summiting. Special mentions to our lead guide Barnabas, and also to Frank and Adolf who impressed with their supportive mindset and hard working attitude. The rest of the porters were also thouroghly friendly and helpful, and the chef really dished up some fantastic meals along the way!

This was a trip of a lifetime and was in no small way this was because of Climbing Kilimanjaro. They are the best value you can find for safe and reliable. Also, they made the trip from the airport and lodging outside of the mountain an absolute breeze. I highly recommend their company if you're considering a trip to Tanzania.

I recommend their tour to you. They are very kind and friendly. And I enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner all deliciously. I had a birthday during the tour. Then they surprised and pleased me. I suddenly received a birthday cake and was impressed. A tour of Kilimanjaro is by no means easy. But you will be worth the participation.

I booked a trip with a friend to travel the Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro in the summer of 2021. From the moment we arrived, we were well taken care of. We were met at the airport with a shuttle to the hotel, which was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff there was attendant and it was the perfect place to spend the night before and after the hike. We were met by our guide and someone from the office to go over our trip. Our guide, Tumaini, went over our supplies and told us what we still needed. While avid day hikers, neither one of us had done multi-day treks like this. They made sure we were well equipped for a successful hike. The next day we went on a short safari which was a nice way to adjust to the climate after a long journey from New York. The following day we began our journey up to the summit. We were well taken care of all along with the way with two guides, many porters and a chef. The tent was comfortable (although I recommend a thicker pad or even an air mattress, if possible), the dining tent a great bonus and the meals were delicious. The guides were encouraging without being overbearing and kept us informed of our progress each day and made sure we were well fed and hydrated as well as healthy- checking our vitals each evening. I highly recommend this company as they made the journey so much easier having thought of everything to make the trip as comfortable and doable as possible on our budget (low to middle tier by our estimate).

From the time I got off the plane and walked out the airport, I was greeted by the driver , Jackson. He was polite, professional, and courteous. I was taken to the hotel where I had a nice dinner, shower , then went ti sleep in a very nice bed.
The guide and porters met me in the morning. and off we went up to the Umbwe gate. From there, Rayson was an excellent guide and was extremely helpful. He always checked on me showing me how to GO SLOW.. "Pole Pole" were his words..... Nimefika Uhuru!

Our experience was beyond our expectations.
Since day one Nikki always replied to all my emails asap and answered all my questions.
I changed several things and he never complained.
The whole crew was very polite and hard working. We really made a bond with all of them. Specially Rayson, he is a very well educated guide, he always gave the best advice, was always worried about us and always o top of the situation, leading the whole crew. We wouldn’t have made it without him. He was out guardian angel :)

It was once in a lifetime experience - climbing Kilimanjaro.
My husband and I decided to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and we went with climbing Kilimanjaro.com after reading numerous positive reviews. So glad we did because from the first enquiry with Nikki to the last drop off at Kilimanjaro Airport the service was exceptional. Nikki answered all our questions and put our minds to rest with any doubts we had. Jackson was waiting for us at the airport when we landed. The following day Mannesah came to the hotel to debrief us. We met our guide Roger at the Machame gate and knew straight away that we were in good hands and there started our incredible trek of Mount Kilimanjaro. Roger, his assistant guide Fredi and his team which he called the dream team were incredible. Primi cooked a variety of incredible meals for us. Muhamedi served them with a big smile. Our tent was always made by Emmanuel before we got to the camp and the port a loo which was a god send was set up at lunch stops and night stops by Kijiko. The other porters - Faraji, Ramadhani, Prosper, Juma, Faraji and Abduli were amazing carrying our duffel bags and other supplies daily, nothing was too much trouble and always smiling and giving encouragement every step of the way. Roger and Fredi were phenomenal and played a huge role in our summit success.
Their dedication and attention to ensuring our welcome, safety, security and satisfaction for the whole week of our hike up Kilimanjaro, was second to none. They are a formidable team and we could not have achieved our goal nor had such a memorable experience if it had not been for all of them.
We would highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro to our friends who want to undertake this adventure! Thank you all for a wonderful experience.
