It had been a good experience until their last invoice came... and - just to know. They send a request to review the experience BEFORE that last invoice so I thought there wouldn't be one. We had the car for four years and they want us to pay two VERY little scratches and put real high pressure with a one day invoice and don't react to a prompt email. If it is not possible for someone to talk on the phone, you are not able to solve the issues by yourself on time. The returning procedure is what matters most. And here, Clyde is totally disappointing.
Well, very mixed bag of experience.
+ online procedures of hiring etc. is pretty straigth forward and highly digitized.
- Once the car is returned. Please be ready to pay exorbitantly high costs for "defect" fixing, e.g., a piece of plastic accounts for CHF 500.--. A touch to the wheel rim will cost you 300.-- (!). Add this sort of calculation in, before ordering with Clyde.
- They offer "free charging" of electric cars with the options to get money back if the car is chared in non-public spaces, e.g. at home. Well, think twice if you really want to have this: They embed the public charging of (let's say) 90 cents/kW in the overall price and give back 30 cents/kW for home charging. Hence, you just overpaid 60 cents/kW. Furthermore, they grant "vouchers" for the reclaim BUT they never do not automatically deduct and do not even mention that a voucher can be seen in the account for manual (!) redemption. And to make things worse, if your in the last month of your rental, you're cannot redeem vouchers because "you'll have to do it with the next rental". Therefore, do NOT opt for the "free charging" - you'll be better off without it.
While Clyde looked well at the beginning. This was not a pleasant experience.
