Couldn't have chosen a better specialist if I tried. What a lovely honest man.
Knows his stuff. Saw him at Optegra Harley Street. Superb site. Technology and equpment there is so advanced.

Dr. Shortt took the time to asses my condition and the best way for me to proceed. I was very impressed with him as a person, his process and the results.

My sight has now changed as he predicted and my outlook is literally brighter.

The best decision I ever made was to use him. (I'm sure he should pay me for this kind of review!)

Alex has really been a rock through a very complex and difficult illness and helped put me to the path to recovery. I would really highly recommend Alex for ophthalmological issues whether simple or complicated. His overall understanding of the complexities of the eye and the interplay with other aspects of our health is really very helpful. He also really stays with the patient through the journey.

I had smile surgery with Dr.Shortt. I was a little anxious about the whole surgery, but Alex made me feel at ease from start to finish. I had many questions and he was very paitent with me! His calming, friendly and professional manor really did make my whole expierence an enjoyable one. My vision is now perfect, and I couldn't recommend him any more highly!

I found the whole experience of cataract surgery much less daunting than I was expecting. Alex was reassuring yet totally professional at all times.
My only (very minor) grumble is that when he was running a bit late for the second op, the nurse was not able to give me the tranquilliser I had had for the first operation and so that was only administered when Alex arrived. It did not take effect as quickly as I would have liked so I was more conscious of the work being done on the second eye. Alex apologised for this afterwards. This did not hurt at all but it was a little disquieting.
I have still given 5 stars because the overall experience was so positive. I would unhesitatingly recommend Alex Shortt for any eye surgery.

I have been treated with professionalism and kindness right from my first visit attending an information evening. I am totally happy with the result of my surgery and found the procedure much easier than I was expecting.

Very un professional and rude response from admin. Dr Alex was very good but it seems admin is doing unproffessional work . I have send thr enquairy for my company HR and inusurance provider .

As per instrucation from my indurance provider i was simply asking for quote and admin was unabel to provide and when i connected them directly to Customer service admin called me and said i cant be treated in optegra and also could not explain uplift defination which admin was defining . I was not expecting a admin call me and tell because i enquierd in depth and connected to isuerer is wrong precident for prodession instituation and it seems my surgery is delayed all because of this.

Absolutely brilliant surgeon, no complaints at all. Made the whole process as relaxing and amusing as possible. Thoroughly recommend!

Dr. Shortt was extremely professional and efficient, my issue was solved straight away without needing a second appointment. He also suggested a follow-up visit which was very reassuring for him to see the progress of the healing.
I am definitely very happy with the treatment I received at the clinic and by Dr. Shortt in particular.

I had a very rare cornea infection and I feel like Mr Shortt saved my left eye.
This infection is so rare that it went undetected in 7 NHS Hospitals, until I went to see Mr Alex Shortt....

I was fairly impressed by Dr Shortt himself at consultation. However, the customer service I received from his secretary was consistently very poor (for example, my name was still incorrectly spelt in the invitation to carry out this review which I have had to correct!) I was not given sufficient time to ask questions during my consultation, I was pressured into booking the surgery immediately post consultation despite various of my questions still awaiting responses (no doubt so his secretary to reach her monthly target), my name was consistently misspelt in correspondence despite many requests for correction, my letter from Dr Shortt post consultation had not been written so I had to request it late, I was misquoted the price for the surgery... the list could go on sadly. I therefore moved to Moorfields where I have received excellent customer service and made to feel comfortable and in trusted hands.

I had bilateral (both eyes) RLE procedure. I had high level Myopia and Presbyopia. Could see without glasses immediately after operation and vision steadily improved in the first week. I do not require glasses any more. Had no pain after surgery.
Very happy with the procedure and Mr Shortt was very good in explaining the whole process.
Have personally recommended him and Optegra, London to a number of friends.

I have had partial cornea transplants and cataract removals on both of my eyes performed by Mr Shortt due to having Fuchs and I cannot recommend him enough. My sight is ridiculously improved and Mr Shortt kept me fully informed about every step of the process and has been reassuring and helpful when any minor problems arose.

Mr Shortt operated on both of my eyes on the same day. The results are outstanding and beyond my expectations. He ensured I had the advice, support and treatment that most suited my circumstances. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Shortt.

i would highly recommend Mr Shortt. The attention he gave to every aspect of my surgery was outstanding and the results are well beyond what I expected. I was not too confident a patient but his reassurance and expertise soon put me at ease. I had cataracts removed and multi focal lenses inserted in both eyes at the same time. The procedure was quick and painless and I am delighted I went ahead and had this done.

I recently had an eye test done by Alex as part of a clinical trial I am doing for a cancer drug. The attention, kindness, friendliness I received made my experience a very pleasant one. Thank you Alex, you have a lovely manner with your patients.
