Please note that Crowdfunder is not an app, but a website.

I can see you've tried to make 2 donations today on the website that have failed or been cancelled. Can you please let us know what has happened so we can help you further, you can email us directly at support@crowdfunder.co.uk

Please note we use Stripe for processing all of our payments. Stripe has robust security measures, including compliance with the highest industry standards like PCI DSS Level 1, encryption of data, and tokenisation to protect financial information.

Rewards and Incentives: For the majority of business campaigns, your contribution is often an early-stage purchase or a pledge that unlocks a tangible benefit. Funders typically receive unique rewards, such as pre-ordered products, exclusive merchandise, behind-the-scenes experiences, or significant discounts. It’s a transaction where you support a business you love and get something valuable back in return, regardless of future profit.

Community: Most project supporters are motivated by a social or emotional investment and return. They are supporting a neighbour, helping a local charity, or enabling a brilliant new idea that will benefit their local community. By backing a campaign, you are actively choosing to support the growth of the regional economy and giving individuals a chance to launch projects that traditional bank funding might overlook.

While we appreciate your focus on financial returns, Crowdfunder’s success is primarily measured by the number of community projects, start-ups, and social enterprises we help bring to life through our platform and the Extra+ funding they can unlock.

Any fees will depend on the type of page you have set up (for example, a standard rewards project, charity profile or personal fundraiser etc.).

Before you set your page live, your fee structure will have been displayed with our Terms & Conditions and information about our fee structures can be found here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/fees

Any tip is used by Crowdfunder so that we can help more projects. We do not charge any platform fees for projects that are charitable causes, not for profit and personal fundraisers. We therefore rely on the generosity of those that can afford it, to tip the platform. It's through voluntary tips that we can break even and can cover our staff costs.

I've just checked your project and can confirm you were charged 0% Crowdfunder platform fees. There will be a deduction of our payment processors transactions fees though which is 2.4% + £0.20 +VAT (per transaction).

The person that donated to your project also left a tip of £24.00 for Crowdfunder, which you have included in the total amount mentioned.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, I'm sorry to hear your project has not been as successful as you'd hoped.

Please be aware that when you crowdfund, especially if it's for a personal project, only friends/people that you know in your community and friends of friends are likely to pledge.

I'm sorry if you know this already, however people can sometimes be under the misconception that when they put a project on Crowdfunder, strangers will come along and pledge lots of money on it. This unfortunately is not often the case in reality.

If you wanted to change the target amount or project closing date then it is simple to do, please just get in contact with the support team via email or through the platform for us to help you with this.

Please be assured that tipping is completely optional on Crowdfunder during the checkout process. You can either use the slider to adjust the amount or click 'Enter custom amount' to type in your chosen tip amount, including £0.

The tip is used by Crowdfunder so that we can help more projects. We do not charge platform fees for projects that are charitable causes, not for profit and personal fundraisers. We therefore rely on the generosity of those that can afford it, to tip the platform. It's through voluntary tips that we can break even and can cover our staff costs.
