A refreshingly human banking experience
The bank supported us in putting an ABL facility in place, and the experience was genuinely different from what we had come to expect from a traditional bank.
The team were human, approachable, understanding and supportive throughout the process. They took the time to understand our business, our needs and our growth plans, then adapted their approach accordingly. The team we worked with was David Green, Mark Simpson, David Pelham and Martin Wong. David Pelham was always on the end of the phone (even outside working hours!)
It was clear that they genuinely wanted to help us find the right solution and support the business in achieving its ambitions. A refreshingly collaborative and positive experience, and quite unusual in the banking world.

Life doesn’t always go to plan and challenges come up that are extremely hard to navigate. I had some personal challenges mainly with my dad’s health but also my daughter and was finding life real hard at the time. The MI was due and my balance sheet wasn’t balancing so it was back and forth between myself and my accountants for some time. I found this stressful and it was waking me at night worrying about it. I reached out and shared this with Sam who orchestrated for me to submit the information still needed but on a quarterly rather than monthly basis. I can’t express how helpful at that time that was. She took the time to listen to my challenges and did everything she could to help and for that I am extremely grateful. I am currently using the confidential invoice financing facility and, after being previously apprehensive about using services such as these, I am having a very positive experience. From the set-up of the facility by Maxine Hennessy, to the running of the account by Imogen Clowes, the team were very professional and easy to deal with, explaining the terms clearly and making sure that our team understood how the processes worked. Access to funds was quick once everything was set up, which is really helping us navigate through the 'leaner' period in our year. There were a couple of confusing instances at first but mainly down to us being very new to the service and nothing major enough to outweigh the benefits of the facility. All in all, a reliable option for any business needing to improve cash flow, which I would recommend to anyone looking to do so.

What marks this as 4 star (more 4.5) is with the length of time it took between stages due to the other parties such as underwriters, where they asked questions that should be on record from the start about our trading style and customers.

Since moving to Cynergy Business Finance, the personalised support from Alex English, Nicole Wadmore, Nathaniel Higgins and the team has been exemplary, and a breath of fresh air in an industry such as finance where complexity often raises concerns and anxieties.
