Company appear to have gone bust having taken £330 of mine and not refunded it. DO NOT USE. Shameful to not refund.

Do not even consider using this company. As per a previous review, I paid in advance for a survey to be undertaken only for both appointments to be cancelled and subsequent radio-silence from the company director Ashleigh Gray. The previous phone number used to contact them is now out of service and emails have not been responded to. Avoid these chancers at all costs.

I had a very disappointing experience with Damp & Timber Property Services Ltd.

I paid £300 in advance for a damp survey, as requested, to secure an appointment. The surveyor failed to attend on the scheduled date without any prior notice, which caused inconvenience to both myself and my tenant, as access had been carefully arranged.

I was in contact with Ashley Gray (founder of the company), who initially explained that the surveyor had a medical emergency and would follow up within three days. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances can happen, it has now been more than a week with no further communication despite multiple emails and attempts to get in touch.

I have also tried calling several times, but the calls are cut off after ringing. I was told to contact via email, yet my emails have received no response. This lack of communication across all channels is extremely concerning.

At this point, I have received neither a rescheduled appointment nor a refund, and my messages have gone unanswered, despite payment being taken upfront.

As the report is required for a time-sensitive remortgage process, this delay has caused significant stress. If this is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate the matter further.

I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

A great experience from Survey to work completed. Ashley and Dan were friendly and professional at all times and always willing to explain the work being undertaken in detail - with a quality finished product from Dan. Between them they made what could have been a very stressful experience a pleasant one. Will definitely be using them again for future works.

Ash was recommended to us by another tradesman and from the outset, he provided clear and efficient communication as well as a very competitive quote following a full survey. When an unexpected hurdle came up once the work had begun and our walls were stripped back, Ash and his team were transparent about additional work required (telescopic vents) and took the time to run through exactly why it was necessary - at no point did we feel like we were being ripped off, if anything we feel like we got a lot for our money!

Dan and Wayne, who carried out the work, were punctual, friendly and tidied/cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. They honestly made the experience so much less stressful than I anticipated it being, they were also super conscious of making sure the cat didn't escape! They worked to a high standard and at a fast pace, managing to finish the job within the original scope despite aforementioned additional work coming up midway. 

I would, and will, highly recommend this company for this sort of work, very pleased with the job!

After extensive research, we chose Damp & Timber Property Services LTD for a cellar survey during our house purchase—the best decision we made. Ashley and his incredible team handled the full tanking and restoration with absolute masterclass professionalism.

I had the team around to complete all of the second fix in my house and i am over the moon with the completed works, they were polite, tidy and most of all the communication was so clear which made the works run smoothly.

Would highly recommend and definitely will be having them back for extra works in the future.

From start to finish everything was explained, and at the end of every day the area was left swept and tidy.
Rubbish removed during the course of the works also.

I worked with Dan and Ashley to redo the damp-proofing on two of my walls, and I am very happy with the experience. They started with a damp survey and later carried out the recommended work.
Ashley was great from the start — he took the time to answer all my questions and was always available on WhatsApp with detailed explanations, which I really appreciated. His communication and customer service were great.
Dan completed the work over four days and was equally great to work with. He kept me updated throughout the process, explained each step clearly, and checked in with me whenever a decision needed to be made.
Overall, I would definitely recommend them — professional, friendly, reliable, and great at communication.

Working with Damp and Timber Property Services was a pleasure from start to finish. Ashley was always responsive, helpful and open in his communication. Our property was on the market for sale and we were pausing viewings for the work to be done. The contractor showed a real attention to detail and cleanliness to minimise disruption. The work started and finished on time. As the property was empty the contractor provided photographs of each days work and we were kept updated through out which provided much appreciated reassurance. The contractor noticed water coming through the ceiling of our kitchen and proactively intervened by talking to the owners of the upstairs flat and by sending us a video. This allowed the situation to be addressed quickly and avoid any damage for which we were very grateful. Given the poor reliability of many contractors these days I can't recommend them enough.

I initially didn't understand the point of a damp survey in addition to a full building survey - how wrong I was!

The sellers were concealing damp by painting over walls and piling up moving boxes. The surveyor went the extra mile to clear the moving boxes and found the issue was more extensive than reported in the full building survey. They also identified the root cause.

Ashley and the surveyor saved us a huge unexpected bill for remedial works we didn't anticipate, and we're thankful for their work.

Ashley was very prompt at booking a damp survey we needed for a house purchase. He organised a day and time with the Estate Agents and promptly sent us the survey report. He was easy to get in contact with and replied to all questions swiftly.

The report was very detailed and easy to understand.

We would highly recommend this company.
