Ignore all of the 1 star reviews
Ignore all of the 1 star reviews. The quality is great, stainless steel pans ALWAYS stick if you use it wrong, and the handles? well they are steel, what did you expect? Having it oven safe far exceeds the downside of having hot handles, which can just be avoided by using towels or oven mitts like any normal human being. And as for the aluminium, does that mean everyone who has used aluminium foil and drank from an aluminium can is risking cancer?? And besides, the packaging clearly sates it is a 3-ply pan, with the middle layer being aluminium. Now onto the honest review. I have the tri-ply series riveted handle 12 inch stainless steel frying pan. I bought this at TK maxx, so it was at a crazy price for its quality at 24.99 pounds. It has ALL the features I look for in a pan, which are usually exclusive for the incredibly overpriced premium brands, like hestan, made-in, allclad, etc. It would be more efficient to list them all (and why) in order.
1. Ergonomic handle design
The handle has a triangular shape to it to make gripping it, even with oven mitts, easier. The alternatives include flat, round, or indented handles. Perfectly shaped indented handles would technically be superior, but this handle design is a close 2nd. The other two have their own problems as you can imagine. Aside from the shape, it also has a thinned connection to the main pan, allowing for reduced heat transfer. This does not mean the durability of the handle is decreased, it is incredibly sturdy.
2. All clad
I don't know why on earth they won't market this (so maybe the "fake makeketing" review was true, just in a different way), but essentially this means that the aluminium (heat transfer unit) is padded not just on the bottom like most pans that cut costs, but throughout the whole body of the pan, including the walls. While you don't cook with the walls, it significantly increases heat retention. As a side effect, this also means there there isnt a ridge at the bottom of the pan to trap all of the ugly burnt oil grease that forms a black line around the bottom of the pan.
The SOLE downside of the pan is that the rims are not fully sealed, which is a thing in most fully clad 3-ply pans, the only pans that don't have this problem are super high-end brands like hestan, and even then some premium brands have this too. and the fix is easy, just don't use too harsh of a detergent.
3. Matte exterior
Simple, less noticable scratches unlike a mirror finish.
4. Rims that don't curve in on itself
They trap grease. This rim doesn't.
5. Oven-safe
This should be a given in any stainless steel pan, but some companies, for whatever reason, decide they need a plastic/silicone handle and disable that feature.
6. Rivets sticking out on the inside of the pan
This isnt a feature, but more of a thing that every stainless steel pan has, except for only one brand that I know of that has flush rivets (Hestan), this does trap grease but your other option is literally 6 times the price.
And that's pretty much all the premium pan features on this mid-range pan. These might sound like, "why doesn't every pan have these?" and honestly, I don't know why too, but if you've ever taken a look around the pan section you'll see that 99.99% of the pans out there don't have all of these features combined into one, they will be lacking in one way or another. I don't know how long this pan will last because I haven't been using it for 10 years, but as a stainless steel pan, I don't see why it can't given proper care. This is truly a good pan that is so worth the price it feels like I'm scamming the company instead. (But of course I know I'm not, these are mass produced in a factory in China which costs basically nothing.) 10/5 stars, wouldn't recommend trying to find this brand specifically, but rather any good pan for a good price, it just so happens that david burke has all of these in one.
TL:DR
premium pan features all for a great price, only downsides are ones that come with the majority of stainless pans, the 1 star reviews are a load of bs, no factual claims
