Worse part you can't even get hold of a customer representative.

They denied damn near anything. From teeth cleaning, fluoride, x-rays, crowns, feelings. They just like to say no

My son is in pain for crying out loud we canât control how our teeth come in my son wisdom tooth is scrapping his check causing abscess where he can hardly open his mouth nor eat show us you care for crying out loud uncontrollable things should be pad for by you guyâs especially if itâs causing the patient pain .

Absolutely horrible dental insurance company. Had a crown put in in 2022. The crown fell out in January 2026. My dentist submitted a claim that was denied, so I appealed. They turned down the appeal, saying that a crown is only authorized every 5 years. So for the next year and a half I have a gap in my teeth and the jagged remains of the part of the tooth that could be saved when the original crown was put in. Would highly recommend finding other dental insurance.
AVOID THIS PROVIDER AT ALL COSTS
Do yourself a favor and either choose another provider, use your dentist provider's care plan, or pay out of pocket. You might as well, as you'll end up paying out of pocket anyway. This company is fraudulent, unethical, dishonest, and will breach the contact you have with them without batting an eye. They refused to cover a procedure that I was eligible for, claiming that the period of coverage was still in the introductory phase. Meanwhile, I had documentation proving otherwise. I followed ALL of their procedures to submit/file an appeal and they denied receiving USPS Cerified mail. They did not email nor communicate with me about the matter until I forced the issue by continuing to call and follow-up on the matter. They bounced me around from agent to agent...none of their departments could communicate with one another and they refused to acknowledge my complaint/appeal. I had already paid my portion of the bill out of pocket. I was left holding the bag for THEIR portion as well. They should NOT be in business! There were even employees of the company that saw and admitted to the error being on their side...and still no resolution. It was difficult to fight this "entity," for the several months that I did. I literally had to give the whole situation up and over to God Almighty so that I could maintain my peace. DO NOT CHOOSE THIS PROVIDER. YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY REGRET IT if you have anything major come up.
Horrible from the beginning
From the very beginning, they gave conflicting information. I went to my primary care dentist for what shouldâve been covered. Services. I had an emergency of filling cracked, and the tooth became infected. My dentist had to give me an injection of pain medication to even get into my mouth enough to assess the tooth and take x-rays. They denied cover coverage on the injection stating that it was unnecessary. They also required me to make a co-pay on the anabiotic.
I needed to see an endodontist. The tooth was complex and needed a root canal. I called DentaQuest. They stated that the root canal would be covered and that they had in network providers. They provided me with the name of and Endodontist 45 minutes minutes from my home.
Upon calling the Endodontist office, they stated that they did not have a provider and did not take that insurance and had not for over three years.
When I called back, I learned that there was not one Endodontist in the state of Oregon that would take this insurance that was in network.
I knew I would come out of pocket for an out of network provider, but sought to find one that would take the insurance and there were none.
Then I decided perhaps removing the tooth would be necessary primary care dentist stated that it could not be done by a regular dentist that I would need oral surgery because complex route. Same problem not one Oral Surgeon in the state of Oregon would take the insurance in network. They had one provider out of state in California. I would have to commute either by flying and taking two different flights to get there or by driving close to eight hours paying for a hotel and then driving back it would be doing it twice because they would not do the assessment visit and the actual visit in the same day. They also would want me to come back a third time for follow up.
Wellcare was my health insurance dental quest was the ðŠ·Dental they offered through the Senior Advantage plan, stay away from both. Wellcare is a nightmare too.
Denials
Dentaquest is horrible. All they do is deny all your claims. Also, to get through to speak with someone is unbelievably long. I think they want you to hangup. I do not even want to deal with them anymore, I would rather pay out of my own pocket.
Unprofessional and no response
Got two separate letters in the mail from them claiming the exact opposite decisions about a dental procedure that is already scheduled. Both dated the exact same day, one claiming I'm covered entirely though 6/13/26 for everything I have scheduled Is approved, and one saying I'm denied for all of the same procedures. With no explanation besides two conflicting pieces of mail received during the holidays and no way to contact them until the weekdays start. Not a great look for a third party insurance company that isn't even in my state and has not responded at all to my inquisition. Would love a resolution but it remains to be seen. DO NOT GO THROUGH DENTAQUEST
The Worst Dental Coverage
Ever since my Insurance plan switched to DentaQuest for dental, I have had nothing but problems. I have received denial of coverage notices for EVERYTHING, and when I speak to customer service reps, they are always very friendly, but blissfully ignorant of why my claims are being denied. Having this coverage is more stressful than not having coverage at all. Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. I may change my Insurance company just so I don't have to deal with this company for dental.

It almost impossible to make a payment
It almost impossible to make a payment! Their online portal is trash! They cancelled me the day after I received the insurance and I had to call Marketplace to dispute. They gave my coverage back then I was locked out of the portal and couldnât get anyone OTP. When I finally did speak with someone, come to find out the prior agent that I spoke with never reset my account. Once my account was reset after days of waiting for an email, they would only accept 1 payment at a time. The next month I was locked out of my acct. again. I had to literally mail in payment, which I sent 3 months worth of payments ahead to avoid the same headache. Then, when it was time to pay again my online acct.was locked again! THEY ARE HORRIBLE!
No providers and refuse to pay claims.
I was told by their associate that my dentist was covered after trouble finding any provider. Than I get billed without proper payment. Now they claim out of network. I wasted my money on this company. My kids couldn't even find a provider.

I asked for a list of providers in my area. I was sent a email with the providers in my area. The Dentist I was going to see was on that list. When given my insurance card. I was told that she was out of network. I called again and spoke with some one and again was told she was out of network. I ask why she on the list of approved providers. I was told they didn't know. I asked when she took herself off the approved providers. Again no answer. And I would have to call Clover Health Insurance to get the answers I needed.

Dentaquest has denied my claim for 7 months
I got my annual dental cleaning. xrays, and exam in October, 2024, it is May 2025 and Dentaquest has given the dental office several excuses as to why the claim is denied. The latest reason given is that my other insurance should receive this claim. Even though i have no other insurance and have told them so, they keep using this as the reason to deny the claim.
So far it's HORRIBLE
I was not told by my insurance company they were switching to Dentaquest. I am trying to find a new dentist from the list I just requested to be emailed to Mr. So far they offices I have called are either permanently closed or it's a completely different dentist office than what's listed and they don't take the insurance.
