Seamless and stress free experience
Made a low value/safe item order for 100 diodes and about 40 various T0220 heatsinks that qualified for free delivery. Placed the order on 06/04 and they made it all the way to Northern England by 08/04, via FedEx. FedEx were FedEx once items got to Lancashire, but didn't have to worry about cutoms/duties/VAT as collected from basket. Only issues; it's a bit of a PIA trying to use their website unless you know 99.999% of what you're after, but if you have specs or a part# it's golden, and (as a European) I was *horrified* at the volume of plastic packaging. Most of the order could have been slung in one bag or wanged straight in the box and forgotten about (if you've ever ordered small items from Screwfix you'll get it). Other than that (oh, and FedEx, but i didn't *have* to use them, there were other options), everything was tip-top!
Shipment delays for months
used digikey for a while but now there are always delays to the shipments. they hide behind excessive orders causing delays. for months they have been delays. Just use Mouser they are quicker and cheaper.
They Use the awful delivery company UPS - neither company cares
Pretty poor, items ordered, needed and advised they would turn up Monday, didn't arrive, then tuesday, then wednesday, each day you could see that the item hadn't moved, digikey not interested, today wednesday it now says they don't know when it will arrive, these two companies will ruin your business, be aware there are better elsewhere.
Inappropriate bot detection
Painful to order as multiple times, sometimes with as many times as 10 in a tight sequence, I needed to confirm I was not a bot.
Maybe overall I confirmed 30 or so times.

I am in UK and ordered a new power supply from DigiKey as my laptop said it had to be either of two specific ones. I ordered the exact model, but the jack was the wrong one.
Contacted them and talked to an awesomely helpful guy (his name begin with B. Sorry I forgot your name, B) and a full refund was issued after they received my return.
Totally recommend.

WOW!!! What can I say? Placed an order on Friday lunchtime and was delivered on Monday morning. Item came from US so was unsure about ordering. No worries with ordering again from Digi key.

Can't even get on the site - it asks me to press and hold on the captcha but never gives me access - I'll try Mouser or RS instead.

I can't rate Digikey highly enough. Firstly they stocked some very specialist CNC machine cable at a great price and then they shipped it from the USA to the UK in 2 days via UPS. Fantastic service and will definately use them again for my wiring needs. Bravo.

No issues and happy with everything
I read the reviews left by others and even though I'm very careful with who I buy from there were enough good reviews to outweigh the bad.
I should add that this is for the .co.uk site and was for delivery to the UK too. Just to get one thing out of the way, the website (on a phone at least) is awful and more work needs to be done on this or for an app to be created. My review is on the overall price and delivery time and on both they can't be faulted.
I ordered a Dremel accessory set, which is rarely available in the UK, for a decent price and because it was over £33 (plus Vat), I qualified for free delivery. 3 options were given for couriers but only one includes duty being paid. I was skeptical at this point because I thought it would be like Aliexpress and take weeks to arrive but to my surprise, from order to door, it took 3 days, fully tracked using UPS from the USA (Thief Rivers Falls,MN to be exact).
I realise that this is just one experience but it was quick and efficient and I'm happy to recommend Digikey UK.

I placed an order from Mouser, but the experience wasn’t great. Then I tried DigiKey, hoping for better service, but it still didn’t meet expectations. Decent selection, but both need improvements in quality and delivery.
Superb service
I can't praise these guys highly enough. This was the only place where I could purchase all the PCB components I needed in the one shop. I placed my order on a Friday evening, here in the UK, and it was dispatched same-day from Minnesota (time difference helps!) and arrived in my letter box the following Monday afternoon. Also, it was better and more securely packed than any UK package I've had recently. Communications and tracking was great as well. Top marks.

Reliable, technical and wide range of products
I am surprised by the mitigated reviews about DigiKey in UK because I used them several times and was always very satisfied. The range of products and brands offered is (much !) wider than other similar big UK distributors, meaning wider choice but also, often, lower starting prices. The technical details of the product are given, the website allows filtering on all of them for product selection, the technical documentation is there and can be downloaded. They proved very reliable in delivering the order (shipped from USA) in 2 days. I received once the wrong item ; the return and replacement was solved easily and rapidly through the website.

Ordered some Klein tools which weren’t available for me to buy in the UK. I was rather skeptical at the start as it was a website unfamiliar to me. I couldn’t be happier. I ordered on a Monday night and expected the delivery to take a few weeks with Brexit etc. much to my surprise my order was here today. A grand total of only 4 days. Great service.
Truly shocking
Truly shocking. Needed these parts urgently and noticed they hadn't shipped so contacted live chat, who said there was no issue and would be shipped today. Following day still not despatched so called up. Then it got really weird. The woman on customer support told me she needed my website address, which I gave her, so she googles us and starts asking my what I need the products for (we are a UK company, Digi-key are US only despite what their website suggests). She then starting trying to find out who our customer is that will be using the product, and my assurances that our customer is a UK company weren't enough. Tried to make out it was something to do with US government export controls. Ended up having an argument with her over whether we were a distributor or a manufacturer (we do both) - totally surreal!
She wasn't able to tell me why customer support had told me the previous day there was no problem with the website

I've only had one transaction with DigiKey so far and it was a bit of a mixed bag. I was after a couple of DE-10 Nano's which have been a nightmare to get for over a year now. I had one on order with Mouser but I cancelled it after waiting 10 months, finally being given a shipping date, and then that being cancelled.
Anyway, I thought I'd try DigiKey, who also had no stock, but I thought it was worth a try, and after only a few weeks I got notification that my order had shipped! I was pretty gobsmacked and keenly awaited my DE-10s arrival. That is unfortunately when I had the worst experience I've ever had with UPS. For some reason they had my order held up in customs for a couple of weeks. Now, I wouldn't have minded the wait, but it was their behaviour that infuriated me. They texted me on a Sunday to tell me delivery was going to be next day. So I waited. And nothing happened. I checked the tracking for a few days and it seemed like the parcel was going back and forth between 2 locations in Stanstead. Long story short what followed was a nightmare of phone calls between me and UPS where they outright lied to me on every single occasion. They kept telling me they would phone me back with a confirmed delivery date but never did. After the 3rd phone call where I told them I could see what was going on via the tracking on the website the parcel tracking suddenly stopped working! I literally couldn't access my parcel and then when the info came back the only entry was that it had left the US! They had either deleted the tracking info or hidden it from customer view. Quite unbelievable!
In the end they claimed to have delivered it after a couple of weeks, and it WAS showing up on the website as delivered...except I never got it. Turns out the idiot delivery driver had left it outside the door and not even rung the bell. We're not under COVID restrictions any more so there was no excuse for just leaving the parcel, and even less for not making sure that someone was home to actually take delivery.
So what does any of this have to do with DigiKey? Well, in the beginning I was getting very cheesed off because I complained to them about what was going on with the delivery and I thought they could have helped me more and should have been more proactive in going after UPS and finding out what was going on. I got quite 'cold' responses by email which left me with the impression that they really couldn't be bothered and that it was down to me to chase UPS. Except that's what I'd already been doing! And then when the parcel went missing they sent me the 'proof' of delivery from UPS which of course was just a picture of a box outside my door. So this is what got me angry at DigiKey. I felt they didn't do enough in respect of UPS and I thought they would try and cop out of giving me a refund.
But regardless of this 'cold' feeling I had from their communications, to their credit every time I complained they did escalate my issue to a more senior person until I was dealing with a Supervisor who saw the thing through to completion. And she didn't argue about a refund, she just asked me if I wanted a refund or if I wanted the order shipped again. Honestly, I just wanted a refund at that point, but because the DE-10s were so hard to get, that would just have been cutting my nose to spite my face, so I asked for another delivery and the supervisor took care of it. It turned out they actually only shipped one because they were out of stock again, but were expecting more the next day, and she tracked the whole thing and made sure that I got both units shipped without any issues.
On this occasion everything arrive in 3 days I think it was, and the UPS driver rang the bell and waited, like he should have done the first time. So even though it was a bit of a saga, DigiKey did take care of me in the end, and although I was being quite aggressive because I was pretty angry, at no point was the supervisor rude, she was just professional and polite and got everything sorted.
So yes, they could have been a bit better dealing with UPS but in the end they sorted everything out and in that respect I'd have to say that the customer service was good.
In summary, I would use them again. Their website is good and fairly easy to search. I guess if UPS hadn't been so bad the first time I would have had no complaints.
