Im very happy with the street legal kit . 4 weeks 520km no problems I love riding my bike again. Riding to work riding home again no problems . Happy days. Riding weekends love it . Thank you DILLINGER.

Very easy to fit the kit. So far have completed about 500km on the bike up some pretty steep terrain. Battery and motor have performed great.
Overall very happy and would be happy to recommend

I had some issues with the communication (which I think they did not solve yet), but other than that, the kit that I've purchased from Dillenger is perfect. I am commuting to work almost every day and I've already biked 900 miles in less than one year. I never had any problems with it in all this time. It was pretty easy to install, although it is a bit annoying that one needs to sand the fork, but I was expecting that (it was specified in the manual). If installed on an old bike with one-piece pedals, one might need to add a seam of fiberglass on it to create a shaft where you can add the array of magnets for the pedal-assist (I'm not sure they are aware of that). At least I had to. I ride on Speed 6 (out of 9) - pedal assist - almost all the time and the battery lasts for 21.6 miles with a full charge, which is great, considering that there are hills and in the summer the temperature is very high. In the specs, it is reported a maximum range of 62 miles. I don't think that 62 is a real number. Maybe if you ride only on Speed 1 (which is extremely low), but this number is too unrealistic for higher speeds. Anyways, overall, I'm very happy with the 350 kit purchased in the US and I would recommend this kit to anyone who is planning to electrify their bike. It's a great experience and you would love it.

I have a Dillenger 12v-800 an need a top lcd control board an called QLD Dillenger e bikes an they were nothing but rude unprofessional an had no idea what l was talking about an tried to explain what looked like an was told no don’t make that any more old model an hanged up so rang back an was answered the same an then told no won’t have parts so asked what to do an was told buy a different one ore bike an hung up on me again so if you do buy anything off them l hope it never brakes cause you are on your own you will not receive any help from them

It really upsets me to give this company, Dillenger Pty one star, because they don't deserve any, in fact minus 5 stars would be more appropriate!
Of all the many hundreds of Companies I've dealt with over many decades, this one is the worst, that has been my sad displeasure to deal with.... by a mile!

I bought a simple item, a throttle for an e-bike. I found lots of them on the Web, all around £14, but the connector wasn't what I needed for my loom.
Dillenger, however showed a nice clear picture of exactly what I needed, so I paid them a well over the odds £24.99.

This arrived by carrier in a big, well beaten up box, with a smaller box within. This was quite big too, about an A4 size 4 inches deep, but no protective packaging, so the item (half throttle with cable, hand grips and spacer), were well rattled and scuffed on delivery. However the all important connector was ENTIRELY different from the one advertised ... and therefore impossible for me to use.
I contacted Dillenger immediately with a respectful email, saying either their picture was wrong, or they had sent me the wrong item.... which was it?
Got a quick pre-formatted reply saying... "You have received the throttle you ordered".

I emailed them back to explain that I needed a Julet connector, EXACTLY LIKE the one shown on their web page for the item I ordered, and that although they did mention FEMALE connector in the description, (but showed the male), sometimes the gender of these connectors is confusing, as they have both male and female parts, so I didn't take the "female plug" description too seriously, as the picture showed exactly what I wanted.
When you are buying mail order, the picture is pretty much the defining thing the purchaser has to go by, so it has to be accurate, and is legally an integral part of the sale.
As they had obviously made a mistake somewhere, I asked them to advise about refund and/or free return postage.
Got a very unfriendly curt reply saying .. I could ..."return for a CREDIT", and that return postage would NOT be refunded.

Just got abuse after that, I didnt want a "credit", I wanted a refund and post paid return, and an apology would have been nice, but they merely reiterated that return post would not be refunded. No apology, not even a "regards" at the end of any email, no info on return address, nothing, but they did eventually arrogantly concede to a refund, so I asked them for a return address..... no reply.
Emailed them again after another week of no reply, saying... 'please can I have your return mailing address"... About 4 days later got a very abrupt, cold reply, with some scrappy information ... yet again saying my postage costs would NOT be covered.

Not happy at this point but I packaged it up beautifully, and posted it back with full documentation inside, and waited ......... and waited.
About 7 days later I emailed them to say I had returned it, and what was the position regarding refund? ...... no reply!
Then about another week later I got PayPal involved. They looked at my case and quickly made a decision in my favour. ...but they too never got any reply from Dillenger.

I got my initial outlay refunded by PayPal, but will NEVER EVER buy anything from Dillenger Pty ever again. The company is an absolute disgrace, overpriced, poor packaging, appalling customer support, no apology, cold, curt emails with no semblance of courtesy or customer empathy, .... no anything really, and I note, now many weeks after I bought this item, they STILL SHOW the wrong item for this listing. Quality company eh .... they just don't care!

This was only £25, and I was quite prepared to write it off, but God forbid, if you spent a lot of money on a bike kit or anything else that requires a bit of tech or customer support, they are just horrible to deal with. They come over as agressive, arrogant, angry, and uncommunicative, ... not friendly understanding or helpful, so my advice with this disgracefully company is ....
AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!

I feel the need to write this review for 2 reasons, 1. any would be buyers and 2. to balance out some of the negative reviews ive read recently when i was looking at dillenger kits. Firstly the kit i finally chose from dillenger was Street Legal Electric Bike Kit - Samsung Power 2.0 with 13Amp battery. This kit came pretty quckly after ordering, about 5days for the darkest depths of south wales( not new south wales i would like to add but the wet n winder one in uk lol), opened the very well packed box and everything was in good order , i had read that the kit came with little instructions but every manual you need for every kit and controller is on the web site and very easy to understand if you take abit of time to read them and also watch a few vids on youtube , yes my downtube slots needed abit of filing for the hub to fit but as i said watching a few vids had this covered and i had already ordered a small tin of modeling red enamel to re-paint what i filed off , anyway the fitting of the kit went well until it was time for the battery cradle, PLEASE ALL WOULD BE BUYERS READ THIS PART, because althouth i read good reviews about the kit, i also read quite a few bad reviews all over the www about dillengers customer service and almost put me off from buying it, ok the battery cradle i had recieved was NOT the one as advertised with the kit i had bought, that one had a metal alloy inner piece for strength, i am presuming and alas mine was just plastic, looked to me like the metal was just left off and not bolted in, "dam and blast" i said to myself because now i was forced to try out the bad uk to australia customer services i had read about and shared with you further up this post, in Dillengers defence i was NOT kept waiting for days and days like others had said becuse of the ozzy time difference or lack of support , Iris got back to me withing 24hrs, actually once i converted the time difference on the emails, it turns out iris had got in contact with me withing a few hours of her starting work(if she started at 9am lol ), ok now as buyers we have got 2 choices, be nice and polite but share our problem firmly to get what we want, or be dam right rude n abusive, demand the world and hope then that their respectful and understanding(doubtful), trust me the later never works and then makes up for 80% of the bad reviews we read, i tried the former and Iris was fair and clear but i thought we were either confused with my problem or i was not understanding what they wanted from me(pics issue that i now understnad they needed but at the time did not), so i decided to do abit of research and found the email of Sam Sewell Founder of Dillenger, so i also shared the problem with him(not really expecting any responce), being the founder and the engineer of said company i thought he would understand my issue.
Now i dont know why the other bad reviewers had such a bad time communicating with Dillenger but i can honestly say that iris and Sam himself answered every email i sent and even though there was abit of confusion at the start(on my part as it happens,after a few emails was cleared up and a few pics sent) the problem was solved and a new battery cradle with the metal inner was sent to my house in 3days, add a few days for the emails and call it a week my problem was sorted, i dont know about you guys or girls but i call that pretty amazing customer services by any standards and in any industry, i work in Aerospace and i would be happy with that service in my field, i just needed and wanted to re address the balance abit for any would be buyers , that not only was i happy with Dillengers australian to uk customer services , but i was amazed considering what i was expecting after reading a few bad reviews and almost changing my mind and not buying this great kit, many thanks to Sam Sewell and to Iris for everything you did and some really lovely emails asking how i was doing with the build, this was over and beyond what i was expecting and the 2nd reason for writing this email, thank you from me.
Quick note for the would be buyer and why this review was written , they have a warehouse in the uk(england) i ordered a 2nd pas sensor as i just wanted a spare(and again to check their delivery times) and it came in 3days, dont be put off by no uk phone numbers, emails were answered as soon as ozzy land awoke lol, remember be polite and respectful it will get you what you want and deserve as a buyer, worked for me......

This is the best bit of kit I've bought in years! Makes cycling a really enjoyable activity, I know use my bike for all those short trips rather than the car.

After spending some time on the internet trying to decide on which conversion kit and who's to purchase I decided on the Dillinger 250w/50mile samsung 2.0 kit and I am glad I did.

The kit was trouble free to install and works a treat. The Samsung battery is proving to be excellent with plenty of range.
All of the parts seem to be of very good quality, the leads are very robust and it all came extremely well packaged in a very, very strong cardboard box.
So all in all nothing to complain about .

Completed product was as advertised. Works extremely well. Would give it 5 stars for performance, however, installation was extremely difficult. Had trouble mounting the front wheel with hardware given. Need several trips to hardware store. Double sided tape wasn't adequate to hold on brake sensors, used 3M 5300 to glue them on which worked. Pedal crank sensor was extremely difficult to install. Customer service was great however with shipping done quickly. Finished product was worth the effort as my wife loves it and it has kept her on her bike.

Never having put a electric bike motor onto a bike before, this was a unique challenge. Not only did I do my bike, a Day 6 model, but I did my wife's at the same time. Otherwise, how could we ride together. Mostly the install was straight forward if one is somewhat handy. The video's were a big help. Finished up and everything worked as it should from the get go. Once I started riding, don't know if I could ever go back. When you turn the corner and the head winds hit, just add a bit more assist. I didn't find it necessary to add the throttle. Doing just fine without it. Saving the power for my peddling which is the reason I ride. I give Dillenger a big plus for their set up. Would like it lighter though. Maybe next generation of motors and battery. Thank you.

I am a Kickstarter backer from 2015 and their "Cheetah" electric bike. This is how I and many others were treated by Dillenger.

The company now has enough money, evidently, to expand its operations to the United States, but they still haven't made good on their Kickstarter promises. I paid for a second battery and never received it even after contacting them in Australia several times. They didn't even have the courtesy to get back to me once. I also never received all the "Stretch Goals" they promised.

Now that they're in the United States I wrote them again this morning asking for my battery and stretch goals.

As far as I am concerned, this company is crooked. They took a beating from selling these too low on Kickstarter and cut their losses by stiffing us on the delivery of the goods. I received my bike. I like my bike. I don't like Dillenger. Let's see how they respond, if they respond, to my request today.

I have had the 2.0 street legal kit on my mountain bike for two years now. I ride it pretty much everyday. No problems, I love it. The front geared hub makes my bike AWD when my legs are fresh. Good for street and great for offroad. I get 20-25 miles per charge.

Bottomline: if something happened to this motor today I would be on the phone tomorrow ordering another one from Dillenger.

My only beef is I wish they would sell a front geared motor that would fit my fat bike. That would make it an AWESOME sand/snow bike.

Five star. Great service and 'more to come I hope'. I fitted two Street legal kits to our Tern Foldup bikes and to date they have proved most successful. I actually recommend the kits to strangers we meet. Each year for the past four years we have taken our bikes to Europe for five months at a time, however this year we have Dillenger kits on our bikes as being older the hills are getting harder to cross. Getting the Lithium ion batteries to Europe is a problem, it is easier and less costly to buy two new batteries from the UK warehouse. To date the Dillenger people have been more than helpful and they say the new batteries will fit the battery carriers on our bikes. That's why I said 'more to come I hope' we are hoping the batteries fit.

After doing a lot of research, I decided to purchase an e-bike kit from Dillenger. I measured my rim and ordered the 24" model. What showed up measures about 18". When I contacted the company for return directions, I was told that I received what I ordered and that "they don't do returns"! I'm out over $600, so I guess I will try to find a bike that it will fit. Very aggravating.

Just purchased the 350 watt front Hub motor/ kit from Dillenger and very satisfied!! It was super easy to connect and has provided a TON of fun!!! I've received so many compliments too!!! In fact, just posted great review on YOU TUBE....do a search! Thanks,

I purchased a Dillenger 1000W kit from there shop in Southport a few months ago, since then almost anyone that gives it a go has purchased one from them aswell :)
The kit has plenty of power for a big guy like myself to get up hills and get to work on time, and the battery last's me a few days worth of travel. Excellent value for money!
I shopped around for quite a while but Dillenger was one of the few retailers with a physical shop front, and they've been around for the longest. It was an easy choice.
I highly recommend purchasing from Dillenger, their sales process was fantastic with Iris knowing pretty well everything you can know about kits and ebikes, and aftersales help was just as great with may of my installation questions answered within an hour of emailing them. They do have a very detailed manual for this kit, but my bike is fairly unique - Dillenger were happy to help.

I ordered a battery from their website on 30th May 2018. It was listed as out of stock with a 6-8 week delivery timeframe. After 8 weeks & several enquiring emails, without any information, I emailed to say I would like a delivery date or a refund. I received an email just saying i had been refunded. This has not yet appeared on my credit card, and no explanation from Dillenger was forthcoming for the none existent battery. My bike is now dead as a Dodo, is only 3 years old. As far as I am concerned they never had any batteries for my model, just took my money & left me to rot. I am disgusted with their so called service & will never order anything from them again. AVOID THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE VERY POOR.

The battery control module short circuited due to leaving the charger cord attached while moving the bike which damaged the socket and caused a short circuit. The kit is only 14 months old.

I contacted Dillinger and was instructed to send the battery to them for assessment. I sent a detailed letter with the battery and spent $30 on postage. One week later I received a sternly worded email from [name removed] stating “you are not to send a battery to us unless you contact us first”. They obviously do not communicate to each other as this is exactly what I did.
[name removed] simply stated that the mechanic assessed the battery and it cannot be fixed.

Considering the battery cells are the overwhelming expensive part of the battery I requested the following solutions and the answers from [name removed] are as follows :

Can you replace the BCM at my expense? [name removed] said NO.
Can you order a BCM from the manufacturer? [name removed] said NO.
Can you order a BCM and I will have it installed locally as your mechanic obviously does not have the skills to replace the BCM. [name removed] said NO.
Is the part currently available? [name removed] said NO.
Why is the part unavailable? [name removed] said I don’t know.
Is this part currently obsolete? [name removed] said NO it isn't, a pause, then Yes it is.
The last statement is surprising as Dilinger currently sell that kit on their website.

So frustrating it became comical.

The only option [name removed] reluctantly provided was to go online and find the BCM circuit board myself.
There are only two components to the battery pack, the BCM and Battery cells. Dillinger could have easily informed me that they do not repair or replace the BCM rather than experiencing all of the above and wasting $60 dollars total for postage sending the battery to them.

Dillinger have you send the battery to them at your expense, inform you it is not working by running a multimeter over the socket then state, “NO” we cannot help you. You are then forced to buy a new battery for $500 dollars off their website, what a scam!!! They could clearly state on their website that they do not do any repairs on their kits, they only replace. I would not have sent the battery to Dillinger in the first place or in the first instance not have purchased the product from Dillinger.

Dismayed with [name removed]’s rude and condescending customer service I requested to speak to her supervisor [name removed] and he was disinterested and uncooperative as [name removed] was. He proceeded to hang up the phone as a defeated person who knows their customer service is appalling and they have been exposed.

I managed to get the BCM repaired by an acquaintance with the cost in parts being negligible.

People, I am not here to bash any business that does not deserve it. Dillinger do not communicate with each other in the workplace and have extremely poor, actually appalling customer service. They have no care, do not answer the phone and divert their calls to message bank which in hindsight is a red flag. It takes several days to get a call back if at all as you have to continually call them back. That's the service you get from Dillinger. I should of taken heed to the product reviews I have read here as this is exactly the experience I have received. Once you buy their product you are on your own and if you live interstate forget it.

On their website they state they have an “ever improving after sales service”, that’s a joke, there is no after sales service!!!
I wish I had seen these reviews prior to purchasing their product. I have done my bit here, you have been warned. If you have an issue after purchase kiss your money goodbye!!!!

On the 8th of March I purchased an
electric bicycle kit from Dillenger, 13 Olmypic Circuit,
Southport, 4215 QLD Australia. The cost was £1137.

Upon arrival and assembly by a professional bike mechanic the equipment sent was found not to function. I also noted significant corrosion especially around the bolts.  I subsequently emailed Dillenger who
asked me to purchase a volt meter to test the battery. At my time and expense, I did this and the battery was functioning ok.
I advised Dillinger of this, Dillenger
then sent me replacement wires, controller and computer which arrived around the 5th of May. The replacement equipment was not compatible with the battery as the wire
loom was to short to fit from the intended assembly, under the battery, to the socket. Additionally, the bracket to attach the controller to the battery was different from the
original.

I complained to Dillenger who offered
to send me extension cables. This is not an acceptable solution as it creates additional wiring which is difficult to attach neatly to the bike and it does not solve the problem of the brackets being wrong.
I subsequently decided to test the equipment anyway which was still found to be faulty. Although the computer and display works
the motor will not drive. I have email Dillenger again, they have responded by asking me to do a test which involves holding down a button on the controller for 6 seconds. I did this test yesterday and nothing happened. I subsequently emailed Dillenger who did not respond.
Before you consider buying a kit from Dillenger consider the following;

1. The equipment provided was not has
described I.e it is corroded, does not work and the brackets and wiring loom are not the correct assembly
2. Some of the equipment sent to me was
damaged. I.e there is significant corrosion around the bolts of the and signs of corrosion on the wheel nipples.
3. I have spent a considerable amount
of time trying to work with Dillenger. This includes dozens of emails back and forth, purchasing a volt meter, collecting delivery's, assembling and dis-assembling
equipment.
4. I have incurred considerable costs
including petrol back and forth from the mechanic and purchasing a volt meter.
5. I have been now trying to resolve
this matter for over 2 months.
5 I have received no apology
