This is the second kit I’ve bought from Dillenger. The first one got stolen after 350km. Must have been good to come back for a second one. Even the thieves must have thought it good. Kit is easy to install with all connectors different or colour coded so really can’t go wrong. Hardest part is getting started. Once started all else falls into place.

My bike is fantastic, hasn't missed a beat. It's been hard to keep my husband off!

Everything Dillenger says about this 500w off-road ebike kit is spot on. It's easy to install, its powerful and has great battery life.

A great and right priced product, taking only 2 hours to install on both bikes. The battery and unit is much more powerful than expected. Have been out several times since installing and unit consistently performs so well. Now we still have and use the bikes we have always enjoyed with these kits!

As an Australian company communication can be slower by email than you may expect due to the time difference, but delivery is quick as this is fulfilled in the UK.
The bike kit is easy to fit, works well and keeps you at the legal 15mph. It would be nice if the display was removable as when storing the bike in the van it is vulnerable to being broken off

A good kit for a great price.
On my install the biggest difficulty was trimming down the "vanes" on the pedalec disk sensor.

I love the kit. There was an item missing in the box but they sent it out quickly after i notified them. All up very happy

i couldn't really fault this bike , apart from being a little heavy to manhandle even though it was a lot lighter than some other brands. its power is fantastic , i struggle off the mark to keep up with my wife on her bike

After the motor suddenly failed for no visible reasons I waited 8 weeks for a replacement motor. They refuse to refund and then I was sent the wrong wheel for a replacement. 3 months later still no wheel replaced.

Bought a front wheel conversion kit. Pretty easy to fit and flattens hills right out

Good advice and knowledge of their product lead to me getting a conversion kit that fitted my budget and has made my commute to work a breeze.

After reading a few negative reviews about Dillenger here I thought I’d share my thoughts of the street legal kit I bought off them for my NZ order recently to give a positive take on things.

1. Customer service with my initial contact was great. They answered my questions quickly and to my satisfaction.
2. My order was received in a week which was amazing turnaround considering it came from Aussie.
3. Well packed and all bits present.
4. I’m no bike mechanic but pretty straight forward to assemble. There were a couple of installation problems but I was prepared for them after watching a couple of YouTube videos and reading their FAQ on their website. Namely that a couple of mm needed to be filed off my forks to fit the axle, and to use my disc brakes I had to space the front wheel over a little to one side with a couple of washers to line my rotor up.
5. Although the motor is not the most powerful around, I found it easily met my requirements and assists me going up hills and against headwinds as long as you put a bare minimum of pedalling in to help keep things moving.
6. The battery has plenty of capacity and should last a while at the lower levels of assist and with the occasional increase for hills and headwinds. I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t handle hills at that lower wattage but up to medium hills are a breeze and with even steep hills it takes 50% less effort than normal so very happy with that.
All in all a well balanced kit that is minimalistic and easy to install with a bit of common sense. I bought a torque arm separately to put my mind at ease, but before it arrived I used the kit without and it seemed ok but better safe than sorry. One other good thing about a front hub kit is it’s easy to swap back to the old wheel and take the battery off to get back to a lighter nimble bike when required. I may upgrade in the future but this is a reasonably priced, fun, and very capable start to my Ebike experience with no regrets so far. Cheers.

I bought the street legal electric bike kit around 2 years ago. I use it for my 13 mile commute allowing me to get to the office in a little under an hour with light to medium pedalling effort. This is faster, door to door, than I could achieve by car or train. I have moved the kit between bikes; my old bike was a 26" wheel and the new one is 28". I got a local bike maintenance guy to re-spoke the motor into the new bike front wheel.

I bought the same kit for my wife's bike after foolishly letting her have a try of mine while on holiday, I didn't get my bike back until the end of the week. My wife was a bit of a reluctant cyclist and would get off at the slightest hill. With the electric kit she's much happier and also more confident cycling in traffic as she set off away speedily and without wobbles.

I've had one issue with the kit where the pedal assist sensor stopped working. I received good support from Dillenger who provided a replacement under warranty.

I didn't fit the thumb throttle or brake sensors to either bike.
