We completely understand how frustrating it must have felt to miss your appointment and not be able to reschedule or receive a refund. Our cancellation and rescheduling policy is in place because once an appointment is booked, the doctor's time is exclusively reserved for that appointment. Unfortunately last minute cancellations mean we are unable to accommodate other patients and the doctor must be fairly compensated for their time.

With that being said, we completely appreciate your situation and we regret that further flexibility was not offered to you at the time. We strive to accommodate our patients as best as possible so we're really sorry to hear that this was not your experience.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We’re really sorry to hear that you felt misled or let down during your recent visit — that’s never the experience we want for any of our patients, and we completely understand how frustrating and disappointing this must have felt.

To clarify, our “STI Screen” packages include a standard set of tests taken from one anatomical site only, unless specifically stated otherwise. For most male patients, this is typically a urine sample, and for most female patients, it’s a swab. While can carry out tests on additional sites, these are not included as part of the standard screen and are charged separately, as each requires specific lab processing. Please know that we take all patient feedback very seriously and we’re currently reviewing our booking journey and patient communications to make sure this is as clear and accessible as possible. While we make every effort to be transparent about our services and pricing, we would like to apologise if any part of this was unclear to you when booking.

We are also sorry to hear that when you raised your concerns in person, you felt your concerns weren’t fully addressed. While our healthcare assistants are here to help as much as possible, I'm afraid they are unable to process refunds or handle formal complaints directly. All complaints and refund requests, are handled at support@doctap.co.uk. That said, your feedback has been shared with the wider team so we can continue to improve the way we support and guide patients, especially in situations where something needs to be escalated.

Our standard process for completing insurance forms does require patients to book an additional appointment. Insurance forms are often detailed and require significant time and attention from the doctor, which is why this process is in place. This ensures the doctor has the dedicated and adequate time to accurately fill out the form. Similarly, it is common practice across healthcare providers to charge a fee for completing such forms.

That being said, we completely understand your frustration and sincerely apologise if this process was not clearly communicated during your appointment. Please rest assured that your feedback will be shared with our team to improve communication regarding this process going forward.

We also want to address your concern about billing. Please rest assured that under no circumstances would we recommend anything fraudulent. Administrative fees for completing insurance forms are standard practice across the sector, and most insurance providers typically reimburse up to a certain amount for fees associated with the completion of these forms. For future reference, we encourage contacting your insurer directly to confirm their reimbursement policies.

Our Operational Manager has contacted you directly to organise the completion of your insurance forms. We sincerely hope this has provided some clarity on the process and helped alleviated some of your previous concerns.

Firstly, we would like to sincerely apologise if you felt uncomfortable at the start of your consultation. It is our protocol to verify patient identity at the beginning of each appointment to ensure the safety and security of your medical records. We understand that this may have felt impersonal, and we will take your feedback on board to explore ways we can make this process feel smoother and more comfortable for our patients.

We would like to sincerely apologise if any part of your consultation made you feel that your concerns were not taken seriously. We recognise that everyone has different preferences for how information is communicated, and we understand that dealing with health anxiety can make these situations especially overwhelming. The consulting GP recalls attempting to keep the tone light to help you feel at ease, but I appreciate that this may have come across differently. Your feedback has been shared with the consulting GP, who genuinely regrets if her communication style caused you any distress during your visit. She is reflecting on your comments to enhance her approach in future interactions.

Regarding the examination of your skin, it’s important to note that using a dermatoscope is typically performed by a GP with specialist training in dermatology or a dermatologist, rather than a general practitioner. As a result, our GP referred you to a skin specialist who has the appropriate expertise and equipment to examine you more thoroughly. With that being said, we would like to sincerely apologise if this was not clearly explained to you during the consultation.

Our Deputy Medical Director has personally reached out to discuss your concerns further, and we hope this has provided some reassurance on the situation.

On a positive note, we’re so glad to hear that our reception team made you feel welcome during your visit, and we'll be sure to pass along your kind words.
