Worse Experience Ever

WARNING ! I am sharing my experience to help other patients make an informed decision. I contacted Dr. Ashraf Abolfotooh khalil after a video consultation regarding filler removal. I clearly informed him that I am highly allergic to hyaluronidase. I also provided him with written confirmation from my allergist in France stating that I could not undergo hyaluronidase injections. During our consultation, I specifically asked whether he had experience removing thick, integrated filler through cannula extraction (without using hyaluronidase). He told me that he had experience with cases like mine and could remove the filler by suctioning it out. Based on these assurances, I traveled to Egypt for surgery. However, on the day of the procedure, despite already knowing about my allergy, he again proposed using hyaluronidase. This confused me, as he had previously confirmed he could remove the filler mechanically. During the surgery, his assistant recorded videos (I have a video of my surgery that was given to me by his assistant) In the footage, he used very large cannulas (approximately 14G–10G) in the periorbital region, which is too big and is one of the most delicate areas of the face. Instead of simple extraction, he performed aggressive manipulation and what appeared to be subcision in the under-eye area. At one point, significant pressure was applied directly on my eye. It is important to understand that filler integrated into tissue is not liquid and cannot simply be “drained.” Several surgeons who have since reviewed the surgical video told me that what was done does not align with standard medical norms for this area. Before the procedure, when I asked about the risks, I was told “not really” in response to whether there were significant risks. As a result of this surgery, my tissues were severely damaged. I had deformity, sagging, and significant structural changes in the treated area...I have filed an official complaint with the Egyptian Ministry of Health, and the case is currently under investigation. I have also submitted a formal complaint to the prosecutor. I am sharing this to raise awareness, especially for patients with medical contraindications such as allergies. We are a group of women that were botched by him, WhatClinic has also officialy banned him for writing fake reviews. Please thoroughly verify experience, technique, and risk disclosure before proceeding with any surgical act.
