Non inguaiatevi la vacanza. Scegliete un'altra compagnia

L'esperienza con la compagnia di noleggio auto DRIVE è stata problematica fin dall'inizio. Già dal primo controllo dell'auto apparivano una serie di piccoli graffi che non erano stati mai diagnosticati dalla responsabile e da noi fatti rilevare attraverso foto. Il cruscotto dell'auto fin dall'accensione segnalava la necessità di manutenzione è così è stato durante tutta la settimana. Avendo prontamente fatto osservare il segnale, la responsabile mi invitava a gonfiare le ruote per risolverlo, cosa che avrebbero dovuto fare già loro. Il suo capo - chiamato per verificare il problema - mi tranquillizzava dicendo invece che la spia era accesa perché la revisione dell'auto era stata fatta ma non ancora registrata. E questa cosa non dimostra certo serietà. Come mi aveva segnalato la responsabile la ruota anteriore destra fin dall'inizio del viaggio segnalava la necessità di essere gonfiata (cosa fatta più volte nella settimana di utilizzo) anche se non risultava bucata. Ma il bello è arrivato alla riconsegna dell'auto. Avendo rilevato la presenza di un graffio di circa 5 cm x 3 sul telaio sotto la porta posteriore destra (colpa mia) e la ruota anteriore destra sgonfia, il direttore mi impone il pagamento di euro 612 per il danno causato. In particolare più di €400 per ripristinare il graffio e circa 150 x la ruota. Un prezzo fisso e non proporzionale al reale danno. Una cosa allucinante! Ho richiesto a questo punto al direttore più volte di poter visionare il listino dei prezzi in caso di danneggiamento dell'auto e ho ricevuto soltanto rifiuti. Il direttore si è dimostrato incapace di gestire le legittime richieste del cliente addirittura invitandomi a portare io stesso l'auto dal meccanico e risolverlo in autonomia, sapendo benissimo che il mio aereo era in partenza e che quindi mai avrei potuto gestire questa cosa. Mi ha riferito che dopo il pagamento avrei ricevuto una distinta con i diversi interventi fatti sull'auto con la possibilità di vedere ridotta la cifra dei 611euro già pagati a seguito di loro indagine meccanica (ma non il graffio che è standard!!!). Questa distinta - con i famosi costi previsti dal listino prezzi -ad oggi non è ancora arrivata. Un'esperienza da non ripetere. Un atteggiamento aggressivo, maleducato, contrario a qualsiasi concetto di attenzione al cliente e apparentemente molto vicino alla truffa. Pessimo! La prossima volta sceglierò una compagnia che abbia un listino prezzi dei possibili danni immediatamente a disposizione del cliente su richiesta e che valuti il costo in modo proporzionale al danno.

DA EVITARE!!!! COMPAGNIA TRUFFA

Noleggiamo l'auto presso l'aeroporto di Creta-Heraklion tramite un noto sito intermediario.
Al ritiro ci consegnano un'auto nuova, addirittura con un upgrade rispetto alla classe di veicoli da noi originariamente noleggiata. Abbiamo l'opportunità di fare foto al veicolo, che facciamo meticolosamente. Al ritiro consegnamo l'auto da noi mantenuta con estrema cura, con più carburante di quando la abbiamo ricevuta (d'altronde non la consegnano col pieno quindi è dura riconsegnarla allo stesso livello! Altro "trucchetto" della compagnia...) e lavata sia all'interno che all’esterno. L’addetta al ritiro, stranamente, identifica subito un presunto “danno”, un graffio sul bordo della porta del passeggero che definire minimo, anzi microscopico sarebbe una esagerazione, in quanto nemmeno con il massimo zoom dell’iPhone 15 si riesce a catturare in foto. Siamo sicuri di non essere stati noi ma non abbiamo potuto dimostrarlo in quanto le foto da noi prese non hanno potuto dimostrare la presenza di questo "danno" microscopico...
Ci estorcono 322 euro senza possibilità di replicare, in quanto eravamo già in ritardo con il volo. La fattura che da noi è stata pagata indica 3 ore di lavoro per riparare il danno... Ci siamo sentiti truffati e umiliati.
L’impressione, come dalle recensioni precedenti, è che gli addetti di questa compagnia vengano addestrati per estorcere denaro ai malcapitati clienti usando queste strategie.
EVITATE ASSOLUTAMENTE QUESTA COMPAGNIA!!!

Do not book with Drive Hellas

After renting hire cars for almost thirty years around the world having positive and negative experiences, the one place i thought i would never be scammed is the beautiful country of Greece. Greek car hire has always been such a positive experience until until we made a poor judgement call with Drive Hellas.( wish i checked trust pilot) At the airport at Preveza we had to pay for extra for the Road Assistance. Never had to pay before, but ok we went ahead. At no point was a cleaning package offered. This is where the scam starts. We had treated the car perfectly. Always parked safely in paid car parks on the island of Lefkada. Kept it clean, even though we were on a beach holiday and sometimes it gets a bit dusty and sandy. On our return we filled up the tank and the car attendant did his inspection. At this point he said we would have to pay a cleaning charge of 25 euros for a tiny salt mark where my sixteen year old daughter was sitting. He then asked if i had taken out the cleaning package which i i formed him that it was not offered. He said it needed biologically cleaning which is absolute nonsense. A bit of soap or lemon juice would have got it out. The attendant was quite aggressive( i have now read reviews which collaborate this) The attendant at the airport desk was not interested. I can only believe that they are on commission to charge you extra. What they want you to do is a full valet service on the car before returning. We pay enough for car hire for the business to clean the car unless its extremely dirty, then i understand. DO NOT USE DRIVE HELLAS FROM PREVEZA AIRPORT. SCAMMERS

Our worst ever experience with a car…

Our worst ever experience with a car rental company (over 30 plus years) that sadly spoiled the beginning and end of our Greece holiday.

The rental car, a Mazda 2, broke down soon after we drove it back from the airport. Fortunately my family was safe in the villa, I had gone back out to a supermarket where the car shut down completely when I came back to it. None of the emergency numbers answered except one that went through to a Greek person who spoke no English at all. I rented a bike to get home, the €140 (food) shopping was mostly spoiled.
The following morning at 0900 I was able to make contact with their call centre. The first person said that this was a “flat battery which is very normal” and someone would call back. Nobody did. I called again, another person said this was very unusual and asked if I knew that it was a hybrid that might not start up with the engine. I did know this. He said someone would call back, nobody did. I e mailed the company marked urgent asking for a refund and for the car to be collected, there was no response then or subsequently. I called again over the course of the morning, eventually at 1pm a mechanic came out and found a loose connection under the rear floor. No apology, no compensation for time or costs incurred. He said only that they were very busy.

We returned the car after a week with less than 200km use, clean inside but not washed outside as instructed. There was 3/4 of a tank of fuel, it was provided empty. The desk was unmanned, the number to call went to a Greek answerphone message. Eventually a young person arrived, she said there was a scratch in the bumper that we would be charged for. This was a dust mark that I wiped off with the airport cleaner’s cloth. The Hellas person was by then serving another customer and my flight was being called, she said only that we would be charged and then ignored me and my wife who tried also to talk to her. There was no damage at all to the car.

I have e mailed the company setting out all the above, a response is unlikely based on experience last week when the vehicle was broken down. Fortunately the deposit was paid by credit card so we have recourse against the company but I would strongly advise against using this company.

Scammers

Scammers. They charged us 100€ for car wash. We wanted to go and wash by ourselves but they just stole the key. We paid for car till 12am they took the key at 10 and didn’t want to give us back. Rude manager robbing people for nothing. Karma will find you don’t worry

Thank you for sharing your experience. Our company policy states that the vehicle must be returned in the same condition as it was delivered to the customer. However, in cases where the vehicle is returned in poor condition and requires cleaning, especially biological cleaning, the corresponding charges apply. The vehicle was returned in very poor condition, with white stains that require biological cleaning. There are relevant photos to prove this.

Esperienza PESSIMA con Drive

Esperienza PESSIMA con Drive (Aeroporto Aktion Preveza) perché in tutti i modi cercano di addebitarmi costi! Al momento di ritirare l'auto sono molto frettolosi, non ti menzionano e non ti fanno vedere i danni gia' presenti sull'auto sia esterni che interni come il cordino che tiene il piano portabagagli. Noi abbiamo fatto foto di tutti i graffi presenti e visibili. Al ritorno, al momento di ritirare l'auto, i danni già presenti in foto, l'addetta neanche li ha calcolati o chiesto foto ma si è subito buttata con la testa sotto l'auto e ci ha fatto notare un graffio sotto il paraurti come se già sapesse dove andare a cercare. Un truffa di 372 euro e non siamo stati i soli! Abbiamo riconsegnato un auto perfetta, usata con la massima cura sia gli interni e la tappezzeria che la carrozzeria e tutti gli esterni. Il personale è ben addestrato !Da evitare, state alla larga!

Una vera truffa!!!

Se potessi dare meno di una stella

Prenotato e pagato con un mese di anticipo auto all’aeroporto di preveza tramite Ryanair.
Due ore al desk in attesa con i terminali che non passavano la transazione della carta di credito nonostante la banca italiana avesse confermato nessun blocco e disponibilità di plafond per il noleggio auto.
Alla fine avevano fatto overbooking quindi dopo due ore la macchina non c’era più. Nessuna collaborazione da parte del personale, nessuna flessibilità sul poter utilizzare altre carte di credito. Ci siamo trovati a piedi.
Con un’altra ora di rotture curiosamente è saltato fuori un veicolo di classe superiore a quello da noi noleggiato e pagato per un importo pari al doppio ma solo per 4 giorni anziché una settimana….
E guarda caso, effettuando il contatto direttamente in loco ai loro pos improvvisamente piaceva anche la nostra carta di credito. Vacanza disagio 3.0 tra Lefkada e l’aeroporto.
Professionalità inesistente, cortesia??? Queste sconosciute.

Be very careful, they are scammers!

I had a very bad experience with this car rental company in Greece. I returned the car in perfect condition, and they told me that the insurance deposit was refunded and that it would take 3–5 working days to show up in my bank account.

They even gave me a receipt that says the refund was processed, but weeks later — I still haven’t received my money. I paid with a debit card, and when I contacted them, they just blamed my bank.

The problem is definitely not my bank, since I’ve had many other transactions (incoming and outgoing) during the same period. So clearly, they are lying or never actually processed the refund.

This is a classic scam tactic, and I’ve seen other people report similar things.
👉 Avoid this company at all costs.

250 euros for a small scratch not done by me!

I picked up the car from a dark carpark at night and didn't spot a small scratch on the door. I got charged 250euros for it. Not happy.

Both at the start and end of the rental, the vehicle is inspected together with the customer to ensure full transparency. At your case, upon the vehicle’s return, our team identified a scratch that—although not extensive in size—was notably deep and exceeded.
To ensure a fair and objective assessment, we use a certified damage evaluation application that precisely measures the depth and severity of any damage. Based on this evaluation, the €250 charge was determined in accordance with standard repair costs for this type of scratch.

Prompt collection from the Airport

Prompt collection from the Airport, quick process through paperwork and a debit pending of approx 900 euros on a credit card (mandatory), I was invited to look over the vehicle and photograph any marks/ scratches I included plastic wheel covers but I feel it's expensive alloy wheels they are more concerned about, Drive beat all the competition on price and whilst it was an older Korean car with several minor marks and scratched wheel trims etc, it was very reliable for our 3 weeks hire and the much needed air conditioning was working flat out after our daily beach excursions, be aware it's inevitable your going to fill the footwells with sand so my advice is spend 30 minutes with a hoover getting the worst out (most garages in Greece have a hoover point) and avoid any cleaning charges. we are lucky to have been served by Thanassis on collection and return, he's command of English was exemplary, we found him polite, smiling and funny and it completed our holiday, Thank you Thanassis & " Drive " Thessaloniki Airport
Be aware I have been Hiring cars 4 times a year for the last 16 years from various Thessaloniki Airport car hire companies and NEVER incurred any excess charges.
But I'm aware if I damage it I must pay for it.

A fuir drive hellas, grental Heraklion

Client régulier de drive hellas ou grental, j'ai été piégé par celui d'heraklion , pour un minuscule impact rétroviseur , qu'on voyait à peine on m'a facturé 203 euros , ce sont des voleurs la technique est bonne et facile , on nous laisse regarder, faire des photos avant de partir mais on ne nous dit pas les impacts .. au retour, ils passent avec un chiffon mouillé pour repérer griffes superficielles ou mini coup de gravillon et hop on facture et toujours sans réparation des voleurs , escrocs, ils sont bien rodés pour piéger les clients , la police devrait s'en mêler et obliger les réparations après facturation, les touristes sont des pigeons et se font plumer et la personne qui parle français est méprisante, je lui ai dit que j'étais client et que je ne louerais plus chez eux elle a répondu c'est pas grave Fuyez

Prelevano soldi senza la possibilità di un contraddittorio.

Secondo il mio parere è una compagnia che addestra gli impiegati per prendere soldi ai clienti nei modi più impensabili. Premetto che ho noleggiato auto da oltre 25 anni in diverse parti del mondo e non ho mai avuto problemi.
All'arrivo ad Atene ci hanno prelevato 40 euro per cinque minuti di ritardo oltre le 21,00 a causa di ritardo aereo .Lo stesso dipendente molto maleducato e burbero ci ha consegnato la macchina mostrandocela con la luce di un cellulare, sempre lo stesso alla riconsegna della macchina ha guardato solo le tacche del carburante se erano 3 come alla consegna e poi è andato direttamente ad un graffio nascosto sotto il paraurti anteriore sinistro, noi siamo sicuri di non aver toccato da nessuna parte proprio perchè avevamo capito che avrebbero cercato il pelo nell'uovo per estorcere soldi. Alla fine ci ha prelevato dalla carta ulteriori 230 euro per un graffio già esistente ma che non potevamo dimostrare, non ha voluto sentire ragioni.Ti rimane l'amarezza che non puoi farci niente e ti fa concludere la vacanza con disappunto. Sicuramente quel graffio farà pagare tanti altri poveri turisti ignari. Fate molta attenzione con questa compagnia, scappate appena vedete il logo DRIVE.

Abzocke! Kaution von 900€ sollte vor Ort mit MasterCard oder Visa bezahlbar sein (wurde mir vom Anbieter versichert). Laut Mitarbeiter vor Ort sei dies nicht möglich, sodass ich 196€ zusätzlich (!) für eine extra Full Insurance zahlen musste (während der Buchung für den Mietwagen habe ich bereits eine Extra Versicherung bei Booking.com ausgewählt und alles vorab per MasterCard bezahlt, da waren es 161€). Mitarbeiter am Schalter wenig gesprächsbereit. Gleiche Mitarbeiterin bei Abholung und Rückgabe war sehr unfreundlich und meckerte über „Mackel“ und Kratzer, die bereits vor der Abholung da waren. Ich habe darauf hingewiesen, diese auf den Zetteln während der Übergabe zu vermerken, was aber Verneint wurde. Bei einigen Kratzern haben wir Fotos gemacht, definitiv sollte man jede absolute Kleinigkeit fotografieren, wenn nicht auch Videos machen. Anbieter ist definitiv nicht empfehlenswert.

Thank you for your review. We would like to inform you that third-party insurance is not connected to our own insurance coverage and does not offer the same protection in case of damage. However, purchasing our full insurance is optional and not mandatory. Additionally, we encourage all our customers to take photos and videos of the vehicle at the time of pickup for their own peace of mind. The vehicle inspection is always conducted in the presence of both the customer and our representative. We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced and remain at your disposal for any further clarification.

double insurance

Aldo we had booked full insurance at our traveling agency they talked me into takening another full insurance, by saying that the insurance of our traveling agency was not valid.

Warning

Warning – Unprofessional and Aggressive
Customer service was rude and even threatening. One employee yelled, refused to rent the car (“Because I don’t want to”) and left us stranded at night.

We were pressured into buying expensive extra insurance, based on the false claim that our debit card couldn’t hold the deposit. They never even tried. Final cost: 400€ instead of €100 – triple insured and clearly exploited.

At return: another scam attempt – a cleaning fee for a bit of sand. Ridiculous.

Avoid this company. Choose a reputable one instead.

Thank you for your review. We would like to point out that, as stated in our rental terms, our payment policy accepts only credit cards. For the convenience of our customers, we recommend full insurance coverage, which is optional and not mandatory. Additionally, regarding our cleanliness policy, all vehicles are delivered clean, both inside and out. Upon return, the vehicle must be returned with a clean interior. If the vehicle is returned with visible dirt, a cleaning fee will be applied. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future.
