One Word. Dishonest
My experience with Drivenbystyle was, without question, one of the most deceptive, evasive, and unprofessional transactions I have ever had with any business.
Drivenbystyle instructed me to call and speak directly with the owner. That sounds reasonable until you actually try. There is no way to reach a human being, no option to speak with customer service, and not even the ability to leave a voicemail. The only reason I discovered this wasn't unique to my situation was because I found an entire Facebook community of customers describing the exact same experience.
Drivenbystyle's communication system is a maze of broken processes and dead ends. The website messaging system is unreliable, emails go unanswered, phone calls lead nowhere, and legitimate customer concerns are met with silence or generic copy-and-paste responses that completely ignore the questions being asked. I made dozens upon dozens of documented attempts to resolve this matter through every communication method they provided. Those efforts were ignored.
The handling of the shipment was equally troubling. UPS attempted delivery multiple times. On the first attempt, Drivenbystyle reportedly claimed they were not the business in question. On the second attempt, they reportedly avoided UPS. On the third attempt, they refused delivery outright. The result was exactly what anyone would expect: the process was intentionally prolonged until the applicable return and dispute deadlines had passed.
What I found most disturbing occurred during the credit card dispute. Drivenbystyle represented to my credit card company that I had never attempted to contact them. That statement is categorically false. I possess extensive documentation showing repeated attempts through emails, website messages, text messages, and phone calls over an extended period. Rather than present the complete record, Drivenbystyle submitted selective information while omitting the overwhelming volume of communications that contradicted its claims.
A reputable business addresses problems. Drivenbystyle appears to avoid them. A reputable business communicates with its customers. Drivenbystyle made meaningful communication virtually impossible. A reputable business acts in good faith during a dispute. My experience was the opposite.
Consumers deserve honesty, accountability, and the ability to reach someone when something goes wrong. Based on my experience, Drivenbystyle failed on every one of those expectations. I would strongly encourage anyone considering doing business with Drivenbystyle to carefully research the company's customer service history and decide whether that is a risk they are willing to accept.
