I had an absolutely brilliant day with Scott.

He has an excellent way of explaining how to exploit the car for maximum benefit and to remain smooth and totally in control whilst working up to the limit. He is also patient and clear.

I could not believe the improvements to my driving in such a short space of time, and although the advanced techniques are initially challenging to grasp, the environment Scott has created for learning ensures minimal distraction and as much repetition as is needed to see that you master them.

I cannot wait to get back on track and begin using the refined skills I have learned from Scott, I have absolutely no doubt it will make me much faster, smoother, safer and more consistent.

If you are serious about taking your driving to the next level, then you should definitely give Scott a call.

He even throws in lunch!

I came across Scott on YouTube, his approach to race coaching was very detailed and each step was broken down into small parts. I was completely new to track driving and did not own a race car but my view was to learn the basics so when I purchased a car I would have a base to work from. Scott teaches at your pace, some of the exercises took me 2-3 laps to understand and others much longer.
I had a fantastic day and learned so much, I will definitely be working with Scott again in the future.

Spent the day with Scott a couple of months ago and learnt a lot in a very interesting and intensive day .
In my first season of racing I’ve gone from back marker to podium finisher in two outings !

After various training sessions with different trainers, i say Scott helped me get the best progression so far. Easy to understand. So helpful.

A excellent day of race driver coaching. Scott Mansell tailored his teaching to my needs but also explained car dynamics when driving fast at the limit. During the course of the day, there was plenty of opportunity to practice what I learned. I am looking forward to incorporating Scott's teaching in to my next race.

I would highly recommend the Driver61 Masterclass to drivers of all ages and experience. Scott has developed this intensive one on one course to cover the most important areas of track driving, which results in the ability to both reset and advance your learned techniques. This is so much more that a track day with an instructor, the facility provides more time to focus on technique and improvement and Scotts ability to understand and teach race craft and the natural psychology that holds drivers back is the most advanced that I have seen. A must for anyone wanting to become safer and faster on track, whether for just pure enjoyment or for competition.

Unpicked some bad habits that made me feel like I was in the limit but wasn’t. Very useful and pointed out stuff that I knew somewhere I wasn’t doing quite right but needed it demonstrated clearly. I like the way Scott breaks everything down into elements that can be worked on individually.

Learnt more in one day than I could have done by myself, Scott showed me techniques that I can’t wait to put into practice in my own car.it was raining hard all day but it made no difference to the instruction or speed, (if you can ,do it)

Scott Is a fantastic coach. And i mean really fantastic. You can look at all the videos you want, you can pound around the track and hope to shave a tenth.....or you can go on a MasterClass with Scott, and save lots of track time, and thousands of euros/dollars/pounds, wondering where you are going wrong.

Scott has the answer and the commitment and capability to teach you - regardless how you good you think you are.

Scott has an incredible way of breaking down a driver’s technique using just a few drills. He does this on the track to determine if the fundamentals are solid, and if not, he quickly explains why the next few drills will help the driver develop muscle memory in the right way. I had high hopes of improving, but the speed at which the improvement happened was astounding. Well worth the long flight here. Truly astonishing!!

Terrific on-Track Day at Blyton with Scott. Analyses are excellent, detailed, comprehensive, with acute observation of detail.
Coaching by observation, explanation, and example, and with a calm and settling patience, that’s how Scott does it. I will certainly recommend this course to anyone who seeks to improve his or her on-track performance. Worth the time and worth the money.

A valuable day which takes you back to basics and fixes fundamental driving flaws. I spent a day with Luke at Bruntingthorpe and he took me through the whole range of car behaviour and control. Most of the morning was spent at low speeds understanding how the car behaved at and beyond the limit of traction, and how different inputs would do to that behaviour. In the afternoon things got much quicker and the lines and handling became progressively better as I got closer and closer to the limit. One of the most important lessons was vision, making sure every turn in, apex and exit were spotted, confirmed and hit precisely. Intense concentration but when you get it right it's just like hitting that perfect golf drive, you just feel it work perfectly. I would recommend this day to any budding or experienced racer. Now I'm looking forward to applying the techniques on track,

I completed my masterclass driver training and two weeks ago. What an enjoyable day. Not only that but Scott’s approach is the best I have experienced as it works both in practice and intellectually. The instruction was clear and straightforward, somewhat more difficult to do but that was my lack of ability.

I left the course feeling I was on the right road and went into a race weekend at Croft. Clearly my learning was very fresh and my performance in the fast sections were an improvement and very enjoyable. But, as predicted by Scott, I had not got trail braking, it needed more practice and so it proved.

Was it good value? Yes and I will be back for more. I have also recommended a few people to the course but non of my competitors!

An excellent day! Well paced to my needs which allowed me to grow hugely in confidence across the whole day. I ended with speeds and turns I never would have thought possible in the morning.

Scott has such a vast array of experience from his time as a F2 driver that he comes leaps and bounds above other coaches. If you want to improve your racing, Scott’s the coach for you.

I had a very enjoyable and constructive day. Scott is not only an excellent driver, he is also a great communicator and brings a wealth of experience to his coaching.

I decided to give the class a go after I've watched all the Driver61 YouTube videos that have already helped me improve my track driving. But of course, watching a YT video or having a pro analyse and give feedback on your driving are worlds apart.

I can say without a doubt, that Scott's MasterClass was the most eye-opening driving experience I've ever had. The way Scott approaches teaching the class is amazing - you have no other distractions, a wonderful coach and a nimble car. He's so good at analysing your driving and gives laser focused tips on how you can make it better.

That's also probably one of the best aspects of this class - you can drive the same corner 10, 20 times, practicing the same technique and get instant feedback from Scott on how to approach fixing your mistakes. That's similar to the "give a man a fish" saying - if he'd just show you the quickest line around the track and tell you to copy it, you'd probably improve your lap time at Bruntingthorpe by a huge margin. But that's not the point. The point is to practice different corners, get a step-by-step process on approaching the limit and of course a technique to squeeze the most out of a given car/corner combination. You can then take that knowledge and apply it on any track and any car!

PS: I flew in from Slovenia and drove a RHD car for the first time. If you're doing the course and have not driven on the left side of the road yet, I suggest renting a car and doing a little road trip the day before, just so you make it a bit easier for yourself on the actual training day. It definitely helped me!

I continue to be impressed with Scott as a coach. He's a great guy. A great communicator. A great motivator.

I completed my 2nd and 3rd training days with Scott. We booked a back-to-back session so we could do a deeper dive and refine what I had learned in our first session.

Scott's teaching approach helps the student build the necessary skills and self-confidence to drive safely on the edge and recognize when the driver can get even more out of the car. Scott constantly questioned me about how I negotiated a turn and then forced me to focus on what was happening in the car. What would I have to do to go faster? Where was the weight? Did the car understeer or oversteer? How smooth or abrupt were my control inputs and how did that impact the car's balance? I came away with a framework that helps me analyze my driving and use that analysis to seek more speed with confidence.

On day one, we agreed a skill development plan and then I had the track time and personal coaching to address all of the areas we had identified. Having two days available meant that we could identify my skill gaps, drill on closing the gaps, and then increase driving precision and speed on each section of the track. I had a lot of seat time as we had the track fully to ourselves.

Next step is moving into a race car and then starting in a series.

As a complete novice racer I can thoroughly recommend Scott's course. I knew I needed practice, but it was what to practice that was the issue. I learnt a load of stuff that I just would never have got from you tube or thundering around a track day on my own. The ability to just repeat the same technique over and over with no one else on the track is invaluable and Scott is eternally patient and insightful. I now have some building blocks, I just need to practice applying them. Stay locally the night before, you need to be well rested, it's a full day!
