Slow as humanly possibly checkin at gate 28A for the ba833 today. I’m surprised if everyone makes the flight. Dublin airport staff painfully slow. One guy on the phone whilst checking in. Complaining that he was supposed to be “on vueling this morning”. He then forgot the baggage receipt which we reminded him. Suffice to say. Pathetic performance by a major airport.

Then questioned by the fast track security lemming asking if we were fast track. As he is beeping the cards showing we are. I then also pointed out it’s written on the boarding card. All because we had our kids with us. Very anti family behaviour by security.

Dropped off at airport and waited two seconds so as to pick up passenger again and was suddenly surrounded by 3 men with high vis jackets to be told I had to wait until the police arrived, I asked where they police and they said to me “as good as”!
It turned out they were 3 airport staff that pick litter! I couldn’t believe their aggression and surrounded my car with my 92 year old passenger scared to death!
One of them was demanding the footage of my dash cam or he wouldn’t let me leave, absolute maniacs!
This was all because I was parked where I shouldn’t have apparently.

Very disappointed.

Place was quite scruffy looking tables not cleaned. Made the mistake of going to the MEZZ and was ripped off. Tried to get a coffee but almost all the eateries insist you order online! The qr code was unreadable. No real wait people. Definitely a moral issue at the airport. A shame because it could be so much better.

Dublin airport terminal 1 is the worst airport that I have visited in several years. From the moment you enter it’s chaotic, crowded and there is queues at every step. There is no self serve kiosk for baggage drop leading to long lines. Security is also a long line. Then the actual terminal dates quite a bit and was not upgraded, there is no seating, the restaurants offer low quality prepackaged food and all have long queues. Then restrooms are overflowing due to lack of them. Overall just a very unpleasant transit experience, Dublin airport needs to do better.

When boarding to the plane, yours staff took my small suitcase from me, (apparently plane was full) and they Check in my luggage to the flight to Budapest even though I was flying to Amsterdam????, this is the reason I did not get my luggage, and I am still waiting for it.

disorganized airport, flight postponed for 14 hours, spent the night at the airport. it sucks, how can you organize a European final in such a poorly organized and inefficient place. third World...

I can’t even rate this airport from the treatment I got it was shocking I was accused of stealing from Bobby Brown counter while my daughter spent 100 euros on makeup I had an eyelash in my eye and took out my own spoolie to correct my eyelash the staff member must of thought I put something in my bag which if I were in here shoe I would of done the same but before the gathering the proper evidence the in a very public spot accused me of taking the Product searched all our bags which I was happy to participate I get what I did might of made the lady think I did something but I did not I’ve been humiliated and will never fly back to my country through Dublin airport again I’ve spoke to my solicitors since I got back I’m sorry to Sat Dublin airport gets no stars from me

Disgraceful prices

The reality is Dublin airport is not fit for purpose, should have been moved years ago. Every time I travel through Dublin airport the experience gets worse. There always seems to be works going on with hoards of yellow vests rambling around toilets, restaurants etc. it’s dirty, inefficient and eventually people, who can will stop using it.

I travelled alone for the first time since my surgeries. A wonderful lady from air Lingus booked me in for assistance and my day just got better and better. The assistance staff were ever so friendly and helpful. They were
Very understaffed and overworked but not once did the smile leave their faces.

Security @ Dublin used to be efficient and polite.. last time there appeared to be a distinct change for the worse. I know that it is difficult to get good staff for this role, but staff can be trained and supervised. In this case, the supervision was clearly poor and the supervisor appeared more interested in backing up his staff than doing his job properly… get it back to how it was!

Don’t schedule flights at a time when basically the airport is shut!! No shops, restaurants, coffee shops, nothing - just an honestly bar for water - disgraceful

went through here last week on holiday. i have a hip replacement so the scanner keeps going off i was searched and frisked numerous time by rude and staff with no english and i had a letter to show this which they couldnt read. you need to replace the security with proper security staff with english or army personel. i would rate this airport the lowest in the world as an ex army man i rate it lower than beirut which i landed many times under shell fire ! away with that scots git running the daa he should resign.

Would give less than one star if I could. Total rip off. Took forever to leave and no signs for return. Even their site was wrong. Was it a lot of money.

They checked our passports 5 times!!. Why can't their objective be accomplished on 1st try. Are they THAT inept? Apparently they are. 5 times the people. 5 times the space. And RUDE. They have young high school dropouts working as security officals! What a shame. Air Dingus. That's what they are. And the coffee shops are inept as well. They can't make hot coffee. What's the use then? All they are good is at drinking Irish Whiskey.
So sad...a European country behaving like a third rate citizen. If I can bypass them next time I will.

We arrived today on a flight from Paris and changed planes in Dublin. After walking up and down and over and under we came to a fairly lengthy line for a security screening. Mind you, we just went through this in Paris. There were two security lanes with equipment, but the six or seven people were only operating one lane, and they seemed like amateurs as we had plenty of time to stand and watch them. All of a sudden here comes a group of a dozen or so people with a guide holding a red sign. This group marched right in front of all of us in line and my wife called attention to it. Then I called attention to it more forcefully as everyone else in line acted like sheep and said nothing. Of course, the security personnel focused on me and made the rest of their procedures extra special. They brought out the explosives wand and went over my sports coat after subjecting everyone to a belabored screening process that bordered on the extreme. Oh, your phone and tablet had to be in a separate tray. Shoes off, which I still find ridiculous, especially when you have to go through a scanner. Because one idiot had a shoe explosive device one time all of us are subjected to this nonsense. No one checked trousers or under dresses which would seem to me to be a more likely place to conceal something of that nature. Scanners would pick that up, just as they should anything concealed in shoes on your feet. My wife had two barrettes in her hair which they insisted she remove so they could inspect them. Then they patted down her head. Everyone in line was heading to connecting flights, but no consideration was given for that circumstance.
So, I finish with these clowns and take an escalator upstairs where I am picked out and informed that I have been selected for advanced security screening. No one else was selected causing me to come to the conclusion that the clowns downstairs had them pull me out. Real professional security staff when vindictive security personnel harass people simply for questioning their procedures. I told them that I know that they selected me because I mouthed off downstairs and had the audacity to question their preferential treatment of the group who butted the line. The people upstairs, although they patted me down and ran the explosive detecting wand all over me were very polite about it. I told them all they would find were croissant crumbs. Our two and a half hour layover was now thirty minutes because of the unprofessional behavior of people with a badge.
I will never allow myself to be bullied by anyone, least of all amateurs wearing a badge and the day that everyone simply takes what they give without question is the day we lose our freedom.
I did not appreciate the poorly supervised security personnel. They had no right to put me through the wringer because I dared to question them. Compared to my experiences with TSA personnel in the US, these people didn’t seem to have a clue about proper security procedures. It looked like they were making it up as they went along.

Horrible experience going through security. Staff shouting at passengers, making people rush like mad to get to the checking area, like herding cattle. Then a short balding man barking orders at passengers in a very rude aggressive manner. ( I actually remember him from a previous trip, and his behaviour was the same). He called my husband back because he said his belt and buttons on his shirt showed up on the scan, (even though they were not made of metal), and told him he couldn't wear them in future! He ran his hands around the inside of the front of his trousers, even though he could see the belt wasn't metal. Since when were plastic buttons and belt buckles a problem? Also, he said the passport in his pocket showed up on the scan, even though he had taken it out 2 minutes before to show him what it was in his pocket. The staff at the scanning machine also, very rude. A bald young man with a foreign accent very rude manner, as was the young woman with him, who just said to me, 'stand there', while all this was going on. A horrible rushed, intimidating and stressful, experience, which made for a very unpleasant start to our holiday. There seems to be an issue with hoodies now as well...soon we won't know what we can wear to travel to the airport, as there seems to be a problem with everything. I've never experienced such rude and aggressive security staff as I have in my own country. This is no way to treat people just going about their business. There's absolutely no need for it. I would hate to think how an elderly passenger would cope with this treatment. It would honestly put me off travelling altogether.

I travelled in and out of Dublin for over 17years very regularly. At least once every 3months I travelled within Europe and other continents.
But on leaving Dublin this time April 1st 2024 I was in a state of shock .

Airport security prior to that day was always fine .

Yesterday, the usual,no hassle experience, changed dramatically.

It started from "no hoodies allowed "announcements and the bald headed, short man, yelling at people at the security check. In an army fashion..

When putting my things on the tray, I asked since when it got so strict? As another bald headed young man had aggressive remarks about my ziplock bag . He also commented rudely that ziplock bags were required for 20years now and he doesn't know which airports I was going through before..
I said this one..but I didn't continue the argument, as I was worried that I would have been held back or refused the flight as he was sounding quite aggressive, I didn't want to chance it. Even the girl working beside him was surprised how rude he was.My ziplock bag packed at home, with almost empty 50ml face cream and a mascara,and a perfume pen 10ml, was a little bigger ziplock bag than the one he threw towards me. Mine was 2l. I never had issues like this before, I often didn't even have a plastic bag... The liquids usually stayed loose on the tray or in the suitcase , lipsticks, mascaras usually were in my jacket pocket.
It was always very reasonable and nice until now. Often I'd have nail scissors in my 10kg hand luggage and there was never any issues.
In fact on this day some of the liquid lipstick stayed in my jacket pocket, (jacket I have put in the tray),I only realised later.. and it was grand. But the bald young guy at the security clearly had a problem.

There were announcements given regarding no hoodies, right before the security check (first time I heard about it, as I always travel in one, for comfort) so I went in, as had only a bra under, but I was thoroughly searched for minutes on end.They even checked my socks. My hoodie was lifted up to my bra. Both sides. The search was in front of everyone and it took ages.It was very intimidating and humiliating. Another young man, security member had a good laugh in front of me when the girl was lifting my hoodie.

The girl that did the search, advised it was due to new machines which don't read through the thick fabric , but I see those at every airport and never was treated like this anywhere. Between Spain and The Netherlands I didn't get any checks,we just walked through the airport. Not even a passport check.

Males are treated different to women at this security check as I also noticed many foreign men just after me being requested to pass through. "All males please pass through" the woman shouted.
Without any checks. Women on the other hand queued in 2 lines (and it was at every security check.) Not every woman had a hoodie. The lady in front of me had a white shirt.

I don't know what is happening with Dublin airport.
It was all good before, but now it puts me off from visiting home.

I couldn't shake off the terrible feeling and I was in bits afterwards. I cried on the way to the gate. It was all very intimidating and it destroyed my trip home.
These people, often young and inexperienced, should not be able to carry out security checks.
I treat airport security authority with respect and the same I expect in return.

It followed by being boarded early by Irish competitive airline but we spent most of the time on the stairs awaiting a plane (which wasn't even there yet) with constant requests from the crew upstairs to move . Resulting in crowd squashed together. Which is a fire hazard at least.
Early boarding and awaiting a plane we experienced on both sides by this airline this time, and both flights still were slightly delayed. In Netherlands we at least got to wait outside after boarding.. Not on the staircase. But they charged us twice for the seats. Once in the deal they offer with seats and the second time when it said no seats together and we had to pay extra also both ways.

The workers are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo kind and food is nice and hot i would like to go back to it again.
