Pet Friendly PIR Motion Sensor
The PIR sensor or Passive InfraRed sensor is an electronic device that detects motion by receiving infrared radiation. If an object emits heat it will be detected by the lighting system and will trigger a signal. Simply said, thanks to temperature sensitivity the motion sensor can distinguish a moving branch from an actual living person and save you many false alarms.
When a motion is detected, the ERA Protect security system will send a notification to your compatible smartphone. The PIR motion detector has a built-in tamper protection, so you will get an alert when someone is trying to remove or destroy the device as well. To ensure you do not receive multiple notifications for the same event the sensor will stop detecting motion for the next 5 minutes. During this time the motion detector will be put into sleep mode and the LED indication light won’t flash. All this to preserve the life of the battery and save you time and money.
The motion detector is pet friendly. The sensor works smoothly with pets up to 25 kgs. That means your furry friends can roam freely around the property and you can activate your alarm without worrying about them triggering a false alarm.
The PIR Motion Sensor detects motion up to 12m away with a detection zone of 90 degrees. We recommend fixing the sensor in the corner of the room at a height of 2.3m from the ground with a clear field of view. It is a simple DIY set-up, and the fixing kit is included in the box. You can simply fix the sensor to the wall by using either mounting tape or screws provided.
Compatibility
All alarm accessories pair to the hub with the touch of a button via the IOS and Android App and you can choose from up to 96 accessories. We know that each home is unique, that’s why all the security systems are expandable and you can customise them up to your preference. Every alarm system integrates smoothly with indoor and outdoor ERA Protect security cameras. You can keep an eye on your home, see what happens at the property when the alarm is triggered and exclude the possibility of false alarms.

This unit doesn't work properly. It can be disarmed and the alarm still goes off at random. Not impressed.

Build quality not so good, when fixing on wall using the mounting bracket the back part of the case containing the screw threads came away from the sensor. Have now fitted it together and secured with tape. Have three of these units and all seem slow to detect movement and sound the alarm siren.

Time will tell, do not feel as robust as my old system. Minimal instructions on fitting. One alarm would not register turns out it was not registered on ERA database although quickly fixed by customer support.

The PIR is not really pet friendly, we have a very small dog around 8kg,I set the PIRs at ceiling height and pointed them horizontally. The dog still sets of the alarm

Remember to have the 'sensor tamper switch' turned off during installation. There is a swivel attachment at the back for mounting so it can be pointed in different directions, but was really stiff to move on some of the sensors I had - I was afraid to force it in case it broke off. Finally realised there are 4 really small screws on it that can slacken it off. Would really have liked to have positioned one of mine in the corner of a room, but had to make my own mitred block of wood to attach it to. Don't use the sticky pads to fix -there not strong enough

Does the job but not a great fan. The ball joint used to angle the PIR can be very stiff, I would prefer a bracket which can be fixed in the corner between two walls as with my previous system, and I have also had a problem in one room where the PIR does not always flash when it should do. The flash you get every five minutes or so when the alarm is disarmed and you enter the PIR zone must surely significantly reduce battery life and is very annoying if you install one in a bedroom as it flashes when you move in bed!
