They tricked me again, I did not remember I used them in past and for only 1 photo they robbed me of 49,90 €, nowhere is mentioned the monthly subscription. They should not be allowed to operate. 😖

Ich bin hier beinahe in eine Abo-Falle getappt, habe es aber zum Glück rechtzeitig bemerkt. Das 0,10 € Angebot führt automatisch in ein Abonnement.

Wichtig für andere Betroffene:

Beendet sofort die "Zahlung im Einzugsverfahren" direkt in eurem PayPal-Konto.

Schickt zeitgleich eine Kündigungsmail an den Support.

Besonders perfide: Selbst wenn man versucht zu kündigen, wird man auf der Webseite durch irreführende Klicks geleitet. Man hat das Gefühl, die Kündigung wird erst wirksam, wenn man weitere Optionen bestätigt, wodurch man Gefahr läuft, das nächste Abo abzuschließen. Lasst euch davon nicht verunsichern – die Kündigung via PayPal und E-Mail ist rechtlich bindend und ausreichend.

Eindeutig Betrug. Ich habe nur den Fotohintergrund eines Bildes für 10 Cent freigestellt und anscheinend gleichzeitig ein regelmäßiges Abo von 49,90 Euro abgeschlossen (sog. Abo-Falle). Nach Auskunft von PayPal geschieht dies als Lastschrift, so dass ich das Geld nicht mehr zurückbekomme, trotz rechtzeitigen Widerrufs.

been lured into their trap with a 0,1€ text picture whcih I authorized to pay via paypal and 24h later I got charged 49,9€ for a pro plan as apparently I have used my free trial period and therefore automatically signd up for the pro plan, whcih I did not conciously do nor did I need any pro plan
my advice:
stay away from them and purvchase your service elsewhere

in data 7/12/2025 ho utilizzato un servizio fornito dalla società ETOOL AI, per ridimensionare una foto, mi si chiedeva il pagamento di 1 centesimo per utilizzare gratuitamente il programma per cinque volte. Non ho autorizzato alcun pagamento oltre quello di un centesimo. Oggi mi è arrivata una mail in cui mi si dice che mi verrà addebitato un importo di 49,90 . Immagino che il pagamento di un centesimo servisse per avere i dati della carta di credito. Ho inviato delle mail per avere dei chiarimenti ed in risposta mi è stato offerto il compromesso di pagare il 50% dell’importo, per un abbonamento che non ho richiesto, giustificandolo con le spese sostenute da ETOOL ???? Perché allora offrire la possibilità di provare il servizio per un centesimo per ridimensionare 5 foto?
Ritengo che questo sito assolutamente non trasparente vada segnalato e bloccato.

Il pagamento di 49,90 EUR con una commissione di 0,10 EUR apparirà sull'estratto conto della tua carta di credito come: " pdfmate* " anziché con il nome del sito web da cui hai acquistato il prodotto menzionato. Viene utilizzato semplicemente come strumento per l'invio dell'estratto conto da parte del processore di pagamento del venditore.
Se desideri annullare l'iscrizione, non esitare a rispondere direttamente a questa email.

Hidden subscription sign up. Total scam based on hoping people won't have the tenacity to get their money back
But after 3 days of emails and resistance from ETOOL I have got the full £49.90 refunded to my bank account.

Massive con!!! Do not go near!
They say they are going to bill you 10p but then charge you another £49.90!!! They supposedly changed the pixels on a photo that didn’t work anyway as the photo company didn’t like or want what stool produced. I completely got ripped off £50 for nothing. I just feel sick that I got conned by this rip off company.

Used the website to reduce an image size. They said it would cost .10 cents. Then the next day I got charged for a $50 a month subscription. I think it's a scam because they won't respond to me for a refund.

Basically I saw the advert on the internet search.
All I wanted was just 3 images reducing in size. I paid a small fee for them to be converted to jpeg.
Cancelled any membership requests but apparently automatically signed up to one (from the email I received saying so) as the very next day I got whacked with a subscription for £50.
Less than 24hours of wanting just three images downsized. Still have heard nothing. Two emails and just automated responses.
Useless and opportunistic service trap and to get your money.

Arnaque totale. Me demande de payer 0.10€ pour convertir un PDF. J’accepte, ils m’envoient le lendemain un mail pour confirmer un débit de 49,99€ sur mon compte. Ce paiement n’a jamais été autorisé, ni informé lors du paiement des 0.10€. Le tout pour un site par IA

Je ne sais même pas comment faire pour bloquer le paiement ou me faire rembourser …

Absolute con men. Had to stop a monthly subscription with Barclaycard. They know exactly what they are doing too as you get an instant email to cancel subscription. They draw you in with a 10p one of payment and subscribe you to a monthly thing without your knowledge.

I was just charged EUR 49.90, even though I was supposed to pay only EUR 0.10 for a one-time download of a compressed file. This feels misleading and unfair. After checking other reviews, I noticed that many customers had similar negative experiences, with unexpected charges and unwanted subscriptions. I strongly advise others to be cautious when using this service.

Mai acconsentito a nessuna iscrizione o abbonamento mi e’ stato chiesto solo 0.10€ il giorno dopo mi e’ stato addebitato €49.90 sono dei ladri… state attenti dovrebbero far chiudere questo sito!

This company is a total scam. I only paid 10 pence to remove a background from one photo, and without any clear warning, they secretly signed me up for a “subscription” and tried to charge me £29.90 the very next day.

Luckily, I never keep money on the card I use online — so their attempt failed.
They are nothing but thieves hiding behind fake “AI tools”. Be very careful – you think you’re paying a few pennies, but the next day they’ll try to take £30 or more!
Stay away from Ctool.ai – it’s a scammy, dishonest website that tricks people into automatic payments.

I put a file on this companies system to have it reduced to passport size. They charged me £0.10 (10pence) via Gpay and my bank. My bank immediately called as this is a common scam. It also happens to be the recognised way that most organisations check your card validity before suppying goods - eg petrol. I was sent e-mails from the company and did not action any of them, links, phone numbers etc. My bank tells me the company can change its name and use the details to make another demand without my knowledge. So it is a SCAM even the website hasn't got ant details. Do not touch with a barge pole.
