Tours - Saint Nazaire not with Eurotrek!
Booked the trip from Tours to Saint Nazaire (4 people).
The person to give us information about the trip on day 1 arrived more than 1 h late. We had our own bikes and decided to leave without instuctions, people who rented bikes left late for the 55 km stretch...no word of apology and 0 help from the emergency person on call. It is the first summer heat up to 35 degrees Celsius and 4 out of 5 hotels have no air conditioning with very hot rooms. Eurotrek goes out of their way to choose the cheapest 3-star hotels, which makes it hard to recover from the day. In all fairness, the Marriott in Nantes was a 4* hotel, the people of all hotels with one exemption were super friendly and the breakfasts good. The worst hotel was in Angers (Hotel le Progres) with old rooms and a toilet so small that it was difficult to sit down.
The App was also disappointing. It took us to silly places far away from a castle to be visited, recommended places which were closed or only open in the afternoon without any prior warning and closed parts of the route weren't displayed nor were deviations.
So you are on your own; also when it comes to cross the long and high bridge to Saint Nazaire by the way, where we would have preferred a taxi, which turned out impossible to organise wirhout prior reservation. There was no wind and we eventually crossed it with the bikes. You wouldn't expect from a specialized organisation to be so unprofessional even for a self-drive.
Our tip: Try an other company or
pack less, book your own hotels and use Garmin or Komoot to enjoy the actually wonderful journey!
