In my honest opinion, this is a scam.
I had my car inspected by an independent specialist, and they concluded that the work billed for was not the work that was done, and the vehicle had been returned in an unsafe state.
Neither Expert Reconditioners or their agents, Piston Pros have answered my email, messages or letters.

I strong advice people to go elsewhere.

Update to my review of 22-12-2025.
I still do not have my car back! Please, please do not use this company or Piston Pros, Barking. Expert Reconditioners is just a middle-man service, with my car being taken to Piston Pros in November, where it has remained ever since. No one has answered a call, message etc for about 8 weeks now, leaving no option but to contact Citizens Advice etc. PLEASE DO NOT USE EITHER COMPANY.

Lucky to get one star. Car didnt feel right straight off the bat after getting it back. Engine rattling and struggling to get the car to 40mph. Called to get fixed and they told me its not covered under warranty. Stay away from this lot!

have been waiting nearly 2 years for my car to be repaired, they do not call text or email me had to get police to track them down as they never let me know that they were moving, when finaly some mechanic contacted me just gave me lie after lie why it was not repaired, so not happy, getting solicisters involved as seems no otherway to get this sorted

Very bad experience with Expert Reconditions.

This service was unprofessional from the start to finish. They kept my car hostage and kept asking for more money without properly fixing the issue. The workman ship was poor, and my car is still broken after the repairs.

They claim there is a warranty, but that is not true. i have been calling and messaging them for over a month with no response, even though my messages have been read.

Bad services, bad workmanship, and no accountability. I would not recommend this place to no one not even my worst enemy.

I had the broker Andy contact me and a price seemed reasonable for a full engine rebuild taken to a garage that he specified in the advert, (A.A.M.G in Hull, who had decent reviews) with a turnaround time of 2-3 weeks, so i agreed.
The car left my house and turned up at a different garage to what we agreed!
The reviews for this new garage were not good and i wanted it going to the garage we agreed. Andy said he would get it sorted and ring me back. That was the last I heard of him... My car now left in Hull at a garage who didn't want to touch the car anyway (too much work on and didn't touch cars where they have started to be dismantled) and been held ransome by Approved Autocentre for my car until the bill was paid for the recovery company.
I spoke to the agreed garage and they had 16 in the queue and couldn't start it for months so Andy simply couldn't fulfil his promise.

Andy also promised prices on parts I knew were very costly and then couldn't deliver. Just another lie.

In the end I had to argue with the garage and tow company to see who was going to pay the bill for my car to get back. Car is back now and I'm out of pocket and no further with my vehicle.

Reported to the police, trading standards and action fraud. And i will also be posting on every Facebook engine building page I can find to call out this scum! No address, no full name (and different aliases) and therefore no way of getting your money back. The garage seemed to think that he was not even based in this country.

The reviews on here are probably his mates, don't trust him at all!!!

Lies after lies about when my vehicle would be ready. No updates and always having to chase.

False promises and underhanded tactics.

My car was sat in the garage for over 5 weeks.

Weekly would be told the vehicle will be repaired that week.

I then visited the garage to find they have in excess of 30 cars all sitting outside with 3 mechanics.

My vehicle was the 13th to be seen.

I made the decision to take my vehicle and have it repaired else where.

Save your self the agro pay a few extra quid and get it done else where. These guys will just waste your time.

NEVER EVER USE THESE PEOPLE, the person you will speak to is a complete scammer and will lie about the status of the vehicle, it had been over a month since I had heard from him so I drove to the garage and was informed that my car had been ready for around 2 weeks, the same day I received a message from him saying that the car needed an extra £1000 pound spending on it even though it was ready to be driven away. The garage were very helpful and saved me from getting scammed for extra money from expert reconditionors. Never ever even get in contact with these as they will try and get the most money out of you and will constantly lie about the status of the vehicle.

Great work done to my Transit Van in a very quick span on time in Hull. The guys were amazing. I got this booked in a short span of time with Andy and they got it ready in a week and van was good to go. Price did increase after diagnostics but I was informed of this before hand so it was understandable. Good communication and clear explanation of how work will be carried out and was done the exact way. Got detailed pictures and videos too to show all damages so saved me a trip and hassle to going to the garage. Top man Andy. Thanks

Would never let these people near my vehicle again took longer for the engien rebuild than was told then paid more than quote for gaskets and seals and rubber hoses witch I can see the silicone the gasket on manifold was the same I purchased from nissan 1 week before it went in where thw truck have not even driven on it my local garage can't see any new houses in so in talks with a solicitor after speaking to cabthey have done more damage to other components on my truck and not even clean main components that will make the engine runner longer when called Jeff the owner just argued with me as I didn't know what I was on about also trading standards and good garage I am speaking to and truck now got to go to a garage where the people know what they are doing

Made a HUGE mistake trusting them. I ended up paying 4050.00£ for nothing. The engine looks like a war engine, drained battery, diesel everywhere, starter broken and the engine did not work a single time. I am not in London so I could not go myself and had to put my trust in the name ...A better name would be Expert-non-RE-LIABLE.co.uk
I don't think they are expert ... maybe in lying for sure !

Reconditioned my Quashqai… it drives like new and they even cleaned it for me . Professional and thorough job with excellent comms all the way through .

They fully rebuilt the engine on my Ford Focus in a location in London. They did a quick job in 5 days to have the engine running perfectly. Price did change after diagnostics as there were more parts required which I was grateful for them to fully check. Thanks Andy and Team. Great work

No1 , I went to Toyota main dealership the price they gave me it was buying a new van then I went to so many garage no one couldn’t manage the job then I found barking garage & that guy is master engin specialist he totally rebuilt the whole entire engine it’s took 7 days & he saved me £3.500 from the main dealership strongly request any car job see Jafrey first.

Took my g wagon to the garage in barking and they looked after my baby like it was theirs. Would highly recommend, quick and efficient service and they look after the vehicles with care. Not to mention reasonable prices as well!

I recently had my engine refurbished by Expertreconditioners and I couldn't be happier with the service. From start to finish the team was professional keeping me informed throughout the process my car now runs like new!!!

Took my car to the Barking garage and had Jeffrey work on my cars engine. Had the best experience compared to other garages. Everything was clearly explained and I’ve not had any car issues since. Would definitely go back

Took my polo at the barking garage for an engine work, they had done a great job to the car. The staff were very nice, respectful, Jeffery helped me to understand what was wrong with my car, how it got in that state and what was gonna be done about it and also roughly how long it was gonna be at the garage. He also told me if there had been any changes he would let me know which he kept his word for. Happy with the service and the staff. I would definitely recommend.
