Feel defrauded after trying to downsize

Shipping to me was super-fast. Product was way too large, largest XL I've ever seen. So had to do an RMA/return.

Retur shipping was a hassle - no retur label or form was included in the shipment, so had to print my own.

Worst part was that they deducted a return fee of EUR 60 instead of the EUR 15 stated on the website/terms.

Given all of the above, I feel a bit defrauded after this experience - simply downsizing a garment should not cost me 60 euros.

It seems there may have been some confusion, as at the time of purchase you applied a discount code on the jacket.

Steer clear of this scam company

Steer clear of this scam company. The returns portal doesn’t work and the client service team say they will arrange one for you then blank you - we have been trying to do so since January (3 months). We have lost over £100 to these criminals.

I have now seen Filson’s reply – an ignorant and insulting response. We have emailed over 10 times already with no response. The returns portal malfunctioned when we initially logged the return so now it won’t process the order at all.

[Solved!] These guys owe me a pair of shorts

The issue in the following review has been solved, Filson finally processed my return! I have adjusted the rating (from 1 to 4 stars) accordingly, but I’m gonna leave the original review below for anyone in the future who may end up in a similar situation to see.

Had Filson.eu only dealt with issues like this faster (like say, within a week, instead of within months), they would without a doubt deserve a 5-star rating from me. At this price point they need to have customer service up to par with the quality of the brand. But they did solve it, and I am very grateful!

Original review:
First of all, I’m a huge Filson fan. They make some of the best quality garments money can buy. I live in northern Sweden, on a small farm, and Filson is ideal for doing chores around the property, in any weather. This review is NOT meant to put shade on Filson’s product line. However, it is about a raging lack of communication from the customer support team when an issue out of the ordinary arises.

I made an order in early January, which among other things included a pair of Dry Tin Shorts. They turned out to be a little big, so I decided to return them. No biggie. I did my RMA request, got a return label, and went to my local DHL drop off point - but the shipping label didn’t work. I don’t know why, the guy working there seemed new and a bit confused, so it could be the label’s fault, or the guy’s fault, either way I thought it best to just ask Filson for a new label and try again. Mike, the friendly guy at Filson’s customer support is quick to reply (he always is), saying something along the lines of ”I’ll send this to the appropriate team and they will get back to you”. But here’s what I’ve learned: They never do.

Meanwhile, I’ve made another order (yes, I’m a big fan of the brand) which I had received, and also ended up needing to return an item from. I contact Filson again, asking if I can just send the shorts from the previous return together with the new return. Dead silence. It has now been three weeks since first getting in touch, and still nothing.

So that’s what I do. I send both returns in the same package (the shipping label works!) together with all the paperwork of both returns, and a written letter explaining the whole timeline up to this point. Fast forward three days and I get an automatic email saying the return has been processed, but only the new item, not the shorts.

I email Filson again (this is now the fifth time I try to contact them in the matter), saying that they now have my shorts, but I haven’t gotten a refund. My boy Mike over there immediately responds, saying it is now past the 30 day return period (no shit) so they need to look at the situation more closely, and someone will get back to me. And guess what? No one does.

So here I am, now a full two months later, the return still not having been processed, and Filson hangin on to my €160 shorts. This could all have been avoided had they only responded to my emails.

Mike, if you or anyone else at Filson.eu is reading this: Please just SEND ME BACK MY SHORTS or PROCESS MY RETURN, and I will happily remove this review.
