Hi Treena, we're really sorry to hear that. The site does get muddy at this time of year, and I've sent a message to our team to make sure drivers are more mindful of this.

In the meantime, if you bring the car back to us we will valet it again for you, simply contact us on leicester@fixauto.co.uk if you'd like us to do this. Again, please accept our apologies, as there shouldn't ever be this amount of mud inside a car that we've repaired.

Hi Tammy, a lot of those 'working days' fell over the Christmas holidays - we were closed on the 25th, 26th Dec and 1st Jan as they're public holidays. We're sorry your car took longer than expected, but we are always really transparent about our working hours during the Christmas holidays and how we only have skeleton staff working between Xmas and New Year. We communicate this online and in our reception.

Your vehicle had already been estimated when it was recovered to us on 19/12, and parts were delivered on 23/12. Once repairs were completed, we identified an issue with the cooling fans. We checked with you to establish whether this was a pre-existing issue and were advised that it was not, so we carried out further investigations. This doesn't mean that we 'broke the fan' – sometimes unexpected issues crop up during a repair, and we always have to check whether it was pre-existing, or caused by the accident, or would have naturally happened due to the lifespan on some parts.

The vehicle was subsequently returned on 13/01. We apologise for the muddy pedals, but as for the rest of your complaint, we could not have fixed the car any faster and are always transparent with customers about timescales.

Edited reply: We'll have to agree to disagree here Tammy, as I end up with a completely different calculation – 15 working days if you include Friday 19th Dec when we'd only just received the car. We closed early at 2pm on the 24th and 31st Dec too. The 9 working days you were booked in for is always an estimate only, and is subject to change if parts are delayed, or we discover something isn't working along the way, as happened in your case.

Hi Gareth,

I've spoken to the front office about what happened here, and without passing the buck, it sounds like the issue was mostly with your insurance company due to their lack of response with authorising repairs.

I can assure you it's very unusual for a repair to take this long, usually they are completed within days (although any parts delays add on time), so we can only apologise that you didn't have the best experience with us. We have completed all work to the best of our ability and any further issue now rests with VW and your insurer unfortunately.

For context, your vehicle was recovered into site on the 26/6/25. It was estimated on 30/6/25, and needed an inspection so we had to chase insurers to authorise repairs on several occasions.

Authority was finally received 15/9/25 (11 weeks later), it was this that caused such a massive delay.

The vehicle then had to go to a VW dealership to determine the issues as it was a nonstarter. It came back on site 31/10 and all mechanical work completed. We had to await further parts, which arrived on 21/11 (a further 3 week delay).

Extra work was then completed on the near side of the vehicle that was not part of the accident. Repairs were completed on 27/11 and we delivered the vehicle back, however you rejected it, and the drivers had to bring it back on site.

We understand your complaint was with the door trim not being attached, and the door skin not welded correctly. Our Bodyshop manager discussed with you how the door was provided from the dealership and that is how they come, and that the next steps were to take the vehicle yourself to VW.

We informed the insurance company, and they informed you that we had done the work, and no further work was going to be completed. We returned the vehicle back to you again on Wednesday.
