It's great to see FontBase improving every time I open it, the new features are very helpful to manage thousands of fonts!

The supersearch is not very good, the tags don't work that well. But it serves its purpose overall.

I've been relatively satisfied with the program and although it is not FontBase's fault that so many font creators have no imagination when naming their fonts, it would be nice to have the program accept multiple same-named fonts separately. I don't even know if that's a possibility; it's just something I would like to see.

Easy to use, works well, makes my workflow unbothered by font installations.

Simple, effective, clean, easy, nice UI.

As a graphic designer, I am constantly using different fonts on my projects. With FontBase, I can easily create folders by project and activate (or deactivate) when needed. When sharing my files with colleagues or Printers, I know exactly which fonts are being used and can provide copies if necessary.

Why isnt there any new features any updates?

Using FontBase quite a while now on both Linux and (soon leaving) Windows10 I noticed that it grew into my main typeface manager.
Main graphical used applications: Inkscape **), GIMP, Corel Draw*), PaintShopPro*), FontForge, LO Draw.
Text apps: LibreOffice, Scribus

FontBase's true advantages over other fontmanagers:
- activation of a font when you need it, not stored with hundreds in the installation setup.
- clear view with examples of the specific typeface as a family and individual fonts.
- finding duplicates, thus helping clear disk space
- collections: organize by general features and/or organize and (de-)activate by project.
- tags: combine specific tags to find the fonts that cover them all.
It takes some time to organize and tag, but then you have in FontBase a tool that helps you and your customer to select the desired font.
Editing one of the preinstalled overview texts helps a lot in tagging: mine shows e.g. latin, IPA, arab and hebrew type + some letters I added to some existing fonts.
- pairing: one of the most tedious tasks, but FontBase has a preview page that permits you to combine and select.

On my 15 y/o laptop I have only the system fonts and few general purpose typefaces installed. Thus saving memory and no need to dig and find between hundreds of preinstalled fonts, showing 3 letters only, when something different is needed.

On questions or remarks I had so far, the replies came as fast as time zone differences allow.
FontBase is not perfect (yet) but I would not consider and miss it.

*) Windows only
**) Inkscape for Windows demands installation in windows\fonts. Through the Preview pairing window you at least know beforehand which few fonts to install.

It's just a wonderful little app that helps me through the hectic day as a Graphic Designer. Very easy to install and use.

It is a suitable replacement for my previous font manager.

Un très bon logiciel d'activation de fichiers de police de caractères. De rares conflits avec l'activation automatique de chez Adobe, mais une fois réglés ils n'apparaissent plus.

It does what it's supposed to do. Very reasonably priced.
