Hello Florencia, I can assure you that we did receive all of your slightly abusive and anger-fuelled messages over the last 24 hours. Sorry for not replying sooner - your tone and anger didn't prompt me to reply instantly on my rare Saturday off, and thought it best that there was a cooling off period but you've coaxed me into replying on my one Sunday off this month instead. I would kindly ask that all of your future communication with us is a little more respectful please.

I'm not sure where you've been sending your other emails, but we do not have a 'no reply' email address. I'll be replying to one of your many emails shortly. You've said "there is no way to contact them" but by your own admission and actions, you've contacted us via Facebook, email and our website's contact form. One could also opt for Instagram to complete the set.

Our 30 day refund policy is very clear at the point of buying tickets and is perfectly reasonable, not to mention an industry standard. We pay our tutors per ticket sold, plus they spend a lot of time preparing food for their events, so a last-minute cancellation (as your request was - literally the day before your chosen event) would be grossly unfair on them. Whilst you have left us a pretty unfair and clearly angry public review, you did agree to the very clear booking terms when buying your tickets.

If you had bought a ticket to a different live event, concert or gig, there is absolutely no way you would expect a refund if you made the same request the day before. To expect one from a tiny company by comparison is pretty unreasonable and exactly why we have a very clear cancellation policy displayed on the event listing, our website and at the checkout - whether someone chooses to read it is not our responsibility.

I will ensure that your refund is processed accordingly. I would also kindly ask that, should you maybe show some introspection and graciousness, that you offer me a private apology via email (or any other form of contacting the business) for the incredibly rude, aggressive and unfair way you have dealt with your complaint.

Finally, you are more than welcome to join us again and would love to invite you along with anyone you know who might wish to join one of our amazing workshops in the future. Foraging is amazing for the planet, the palate and our health - it's a lovely calming activity to do and I find it puts me more at peace with the world when I'm feeling tense, angry or stressed.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your daughter. That sounds like a horrendous ordeal so I hope that all involved are coping ok. It must be some comfort that things aren't so bad that you could take the time to provide this detailed and public review, so that's at least something to cling onto in these challenging circumstances. Foraging is indeed something we champion as a way of improving one's mental health and wellbeing, so it is lovely to hear that your daughter has a growing interest in it, which will hopefully help in the long-run.

Before I address your feedback, and speaking from personal experience, I would strongly urge you to reconsider detailing your daughter's episode in such a public forum, especially with your own surname attached to it. For her dignity's sake, I would suggest you remove, amend or anonymise your words. It is evident that you are frustrated, but for her sake I think a little discretion on this matter would certainly help her.

We pride ourselves on our personable customer service, our human-to-human interaction (e.g. no automated AI responses) and compassionate approach when dealing with bookings. However, it is not our job to distinguish between what one person's family emergency and another - we were not provided with any further details and instead have to therefore refer to our very clear and fair refund/transfer policy that was agreed to when making your booking. Your request was made less than 24 hours before your event booking and your tutor would already have prepared your food, not to mention them then having to take a hit on the fee for the event as they are paid per ticket sold. It is my least favourite part of this job, but we do have to take all parties' interest into consideration when making these difficult decisions. Just in the same way that a multi-millionaire musical artist or national train company would have a policy they stick to were you unable to use your ticket with them, we have to draw a line somewhere.

We do sometimes offer a more flexible solution if an appeal has been made with a kind and polite explanation, but I'm afraid that is rarely the case when a public lashing out has been issued, especially one which perhaps might be considered unreasonable or unfair once the initial frustration of the unfolding scenario has had a chance to calm down.

I am glad to hear that your husband and other daughter made it to our workshop. No doubt they had a wonderful time and that this poor review is no reflection on that front.

Finally, I sincerely hope that your daughter finds solace. Mental health struggles can be ghastly, lonely experiences and she will need all the support she can get from her closest loved ones. Sending my best wishes for her long- and short-term recovery.

I'm sorry to hear that you felt your day was wasted. It is a tricky one because we do not collect the phone numbers of our guests so whatsapp is not possible, so we rely entirely on the emails we send out via Eventbrite - there's not much more we can do on that front but will take the feedback on board for the future. It is perhaps an irony of this whole situation that we cannot find any trace of an email thread from you (and we check our junk folders daily for this purpose) so perhaps you could send that over to us so we can double-check what might be going on?
