Overall good experience. Not that it works right off the box. Once done then it works great. They certainly can improve there licensing model a bit more so that it can work off of network.

Great OCR and Compressor

They provided extra assistance in evaluating their product. Unfortunately it just wasn't what we needed.

they were very nice on the phone, the software was good, but we decided to go with another solution, but it was nice getting to know the company.

Awesome results, lower disk storage, great quality of conversion to a text searchable PDF.

I found the CVISION pdf compressor 8 years ago and have been using them ever since. Their compressor technology makes it so much easier to email and move large files that I've reduced the size using their program.

Excellent OCR engine.

I looked at 5 OCR/compression engines before settling on PDF Compressor. The licensing model is flexible, and provides excellent value. The capability of the software is excellent, the compression ratio provides up to 9:1 compression ratio with zero perceptible loss in quality. It is key to have the correct configuration to reach this though. There is also flexibility in integration with other applications, via API, command line, watch folders, or ad hoc

We have used Cvision to compress PDF files for many years. The product is highly stable having processed millions of PDF pages and the customer service is top-notch.

Excellent product and support of the products

CVISION provides great tools to efficiently process electronic documents. There software drastically reduces the overall size of PDF documents within our workflows.

We have been using CVision's PdfCompressor for our PDF compression needs and found this product to be very effective and robust. CVision's customer service is also very responsive in assisting with our development needs.

Pros: The compression works great and doesn't lose too much qulity. The OCR functionality allows us to search scanned documents, which we didn't have before PdfCompressor.

We set up two watch directories, one that's used twice a week and one that's use at the end of each month. The one at the end of the month gets older files, before 2010, pulled in that need to be compressed and OCR'd. This uses up our monthly allowance of pages.

Cons: Setting up the watch directories took a little bit to get right but that could be our fault for not reading enough documentation.

I have been using PDFCompressor since 2012. I first purchased it to get optimum size reduction of PDF files for my website which contains over four million pages of documents on the history of radio and its related fields of electronics and music.

I found the compression was better, cleaner and better controlled than alternatives such as Acrobat Pro. And processing was faster. I discovered from use that the OCR was much better than Adobe, Abbyy or other stand-alone products.

The ability to configure settings for different types to documents is invaluable since I work with both newer and up to 120-year-old materials.

A wonderful feature is the software's ability to use selectable numbers of multiple core CPUs. I recently upgraded to an i9 7980 based system and I can now run multiple instances of PDFCompressor, all using at least 6 cores, with no reduction of processing time.

The scaled pricing lets me pick the package that fits my needs, which are around 75,000 pages a month.

My only "wish list" is for the software to have the ability to set my own defaults such as start directory, combine into one document and not to move non-convertible pages. It would also be nice if the file selection window obeyed Windows conventions, such as shift-click, multiple file drag and drop, etc.

But my wishes are small compared to the vast benefits (and I have tried every competing product). I just renewed my service agreement for three more years and that is the best endorsement this very picky user can give.

I have been using PDF Compressor for more than 8 years now and I would recommend it to anyone. I am still impressed by the huge reduction in size without any quality loss. I find this application to be invaluable and plan on using it even more in the future. I have rarely ever called CVision for support but when I have the experience has been great.

It runs reliably without issues. It allows users to dump multiple files into the input directory for processing. Batch processing is quite convenient. There are so many adjustments, you can fine tune your output files to your exact specifications.
