You've made the console worse

You've made the console worse. On the day before I gave the console in it was working and all the games worked. It didn't turn off in the half an hour I played the games. A few months prior it used to. Now you've charged 50 pounds and it doesn't turn on at all and has a YLOD.

Hello Sukdev,

Our minimum inspection fee is £34.99 of which is non refundable, you also opted for the upgrade on our courier service. As you used this service this is also non-refundable as per our terms and conditions you agreed to upon placing your order.

To try offer some understanding as to the outcome of the repair, the device was booked in under a YLOD repair, which is the fault it presented itself with when we tested it in our pre-repair checks. We would not have treated it for this repair if it did not present itself with this fault.

Unfortunately, due to the heat damage on the board we tried to reflow of the solder connections under the chip rather than re-ball them, this did not resolve the fault so there wasn’t anything else we could do to get this up and running.

This is listed as a service recovery option only on our website. As the reflow did not work and we cannot replace the APU, this is the reason we declared it BER (beyond economical repair).

Whilst we appreciate your disappointment in the outcome of the repair, sadly not every device is repairable.

We are sorry we were unable to get this up and running for you.

So thought I’d broken my sons PS4

So thought I’d broken my sons PS4, pulled out the HDMI cable too hard, it wouldn’t reconnect, major panic, our local repair company in Brighton were useless.
Amazingly, I then found by chance, Gamer Tech, spoke to Charlie who immediately knew what I had done, and what was needed to put right, before I knew it the PS4 was heading back for repair, we had email updates from the start and within 24 hours it was repaired and serviced and was on its way back to us. Honestly I would not go anywhere else, efficient , reliable , friendly and completely honest from the start, no drama.
Apart from my son not having his ps4 for 24 hours 😂.. thank you again for all your help .. the ps4 lives on 👍

A Swift, Communicative, Thoughtful Repair

The whole process of getting my PS5 repaired was seamless. Swift quote; excellent communication throughout; a prompt home pickup and faster repair than I had expected.
I was worried that I wasn't going to be at home when it was shipped back, but they had the forethought to check with me before they dispatched it: double confirming the address and holding off sending it back so that they knew it would arrive at a time when I would be home; very thoughtful. Whilst I was just after an HDMI port replacement, they also gave it a general service and a spring cleaning so it came home looking pristine. Absolutely thrilled.

Friendly, accessible, helpful; Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Friendly, helpful, never charge more than they need to.

Very knowledgeable.

Accessible - take the time to listen and understand.

I've used them for three products:
> iPod Classic: a few years ago, but really good work and explained everything clearly.
> iPhone: Understood my needs and worked hard to make things work for me. As someone with health issues, the idea of being without a phone was scary. They took time to listen, understand, and then worked hard to turn it around at super-speed so that I wouldn't be phone-less overnight. Kept me updated every step of the process. They were honest that it would cost more to fix than to buy a new one.
> iPad: Fixed within about 30 seconds! I was expecting a large bill and there absolutely wasn't. (I offered to pay more but they didn't take it).

I genuinely can't recommend them enough. I often get nervous about services as my health bits and bobs can mean that I worry about communicating or getting taken advantage of. But they help me to feel at ease, informed, comfortable, and I always leave with a smile.

The only place to go for tech support!!

I had an issue transferring data and apps from an ancient android phone to an iPhone and no other shop in York was able to do this! When I found Gamer -Tech, Charlie could not have been more helpful and managed to get everything done for me smoothly. If I ever need tech support I will be returning to Gamer Tech and I would strongly recommend anybody in the York area to do the same. Experts in their field and very supportive and helpful. Simply the place to go if you need tech support!!!

Hidden Gem

Perfect service.
I sent my PS4 Pro for repair after tearing the PSU connector off the motherboard whilst replacing the thermal paste.
Note: Local shops couldn't fix.

After placing the order for the repair it was collected by DPD, repaired and sent back within 4 working days.

The customer service was also top notch with regular updates on the status.

Item arrived repaired, cleaned, fully serviced and as good as new. Works perfectly with no fan noise at all.

A gem of a company who I will be using again for sure.

Fixed iPhone 13 Pro Max rear glass

Fixed my iPhone 13 pro max rear glass & camera lens. 2 day turnaround. Very good price below £100 for both.

Was quoted £570 by EE, staff at Gamer Tech explained that EE wouldnt repair the phone they would swap it with a like for like refurb which EE didnt say anything about.

Very grateful and happy with the service. Definitely recommend.

Excellent service

Excellent service. IPad. Pro. Had charging problems. Was quoted £640 at one place, the other couldn’t do the job. This Company after a phone call to them. No problem getting through by the way. Collection was arranged , excellent again. Photos taken the whole way through. E.Mails, keeping me up to date. Even a phone call from a lovely lady telling me, It would be delivered the next day. Arrived as promised, again photos taken, also had a photo to show problem sorted. I shall definitely keep there details to hand.

Excellent customer service

Great communication from start to finish. Kept up to date on every step of the way. No problem calling them ie no 20 minute wait to get through to a human being. Customer service is outstanding, along with delivery. A great family business who have pulled it out the bag in my opinion! I’m all up for supporting small/family businesses, and this one deserves a 5 star rating, hands down 😍

6 Months later, they've still got my console

The picture went on my PS5 and I sent it to them, they've now had it for SIX MONTHS and are now avoiding my emails asking for an update. They sent it back around 3 months ago STILL BROKEN, and I was forced to send it straight back to them. I don't know the best course of action to take but I would highly recommend to STEER CLEAR of this company.

Terrible

Terrible, go elsewhere. My Nintendo Switch had a minor dent in the screen and I sent it off to be replaced. 2 weeks later I receive my switch with its new screen. Works well, however behind the screen is full of dust and smudge marks. I complain and they charge me £15 to send it back to them and get a passive aggressive excuse that they aren’t a factory and can’t vacuum seal the screen. I don’t think you need a vacuum seal to remove the smudge mark covering half of the screen. After they clean the device and send it back to me, I still have a mark in the middle of my screen and the screen itself isn’t even attached properly! Half of it is fixed in place and the other half is raised up on one side. I don’t think it’s asking for much to have the screen clean and attached to the device properly.

Hello Liam,

All of our repairs come with a 90 day repair warranty to allow us to rectify any issues our customers have. You reported the issue to us 3 weeks after having the console back, unfortunately whilst the repair is covered under warranty we can only return devices for free for the first 7 days. If you had reported the issues sooner we would have been able to return this free of charge. We charged the return courier as per our terms and conditions.

You initially reported dead pixels to the LCD of which there weren't any. We agreed a smudge mark had been missed under the screen when fitting this for you initially. We rectified this and sent pictures to which you highlighted a pin prick of dust under the screen.

Only manufacturers have dust free rooms, so whilst we strive to achieve 100% attention to detail we cannot factory seal the device. We tried to explain this to you that whilst we use antistatic matts and cloths we would find it very difficult to achieve the "factory seal" look you were seeking. It is at this stage we offered to provide you with a refund if you were dissatisfied to which you declined and advised it was fine to send back.

We have photos of the device prior to dispatch, which we sent you and your reports of the screen not being attached properly are incorrect as this left us in good condition.

As always our main objective is to provide all of our customers with an excellent service. Therefore if you have received it in this state something may have happened in transit, to which we would be happy to review as a good will gesture free of charge.

We would advise you Liam to email us at customerservices@gamer-tech.co.uk with photos in order for us to rectify your complaint for you.
