Mike Coyne visited me ( Sue Bagley) in my house in June and sorted out my alarms and electrics . He was extremely pleasant, professional and helpful . It’s the 2nd time he has attended my property and he has provided fantastic customer service both times . He fitted me in to his schedule although he was really busy . Thank you so much ! I will definitely use your company and I will ask for you again next time . You were a star ! 🙏😀 You are a credit to your company !

We are very pleased with Gas-Elec's swift response to our need for a new boiler. Gary is a great guy - friendly, efficient and very clear in his explanations of how the new boiler functioned. His follow up call to make sure all was OK was much appreciated. From first to last Gary gave us every confidence in his his ability to deal with our need for a new boiler.

What a pleasure to have such a friendly caring Engineer to work in my house. Gary’s thoughtfulness/empathy is a very rare quality to find these days. I would have no reservations in recommending him and look forward to meeting him again when he has to return next year.

I felt completely ripped off after a recent gas safety inspection of a rental property I own. I was unaware there was a change in legislation which required carbon monoxide detectors.

Gas-Elec called me to say that carbon monoxide detectors were required and they could not issue a gas safety certificate without them. But they said there were £45 plus VAT each and I needed two of them. This seemed unreasonably expensive but I felt trapped because I would have to forfeit the £78 inspection fee if I didn't buy the CO detectors from them.

I told them to go ahead but was later shocked to discover that the Kidde K5CO they supplied were only £16.50 in Argos compared to £54.00 from Gas-Elec.

I doubt I'm going to use Gas-Elec again.

Had an engineer booked twice to carry out an EICR. First time postponed second time cancelled on the day! It's been a month now and we have to find another company that can help. Don't waste your time with them!

I keep receiving unsolicited marketing emails from Home Service Reports.

I emailed their privacy email address to ascertain where they obtained my details from. No response was received.

There is no obvious phone number on their website. Home Service Reports is part of the gas-elec Group - I have been on hold to them trying to sort this but no one answers the phone.

Useless. Stay well clear.

It was a good experience as Mike informed me about what the visit will entail at the start. He was able to identify issues on the Kitchen lamps that have persisted for 2.5 years and very kindly included this in the inspection report. It was a very pleasant experience. I had Kevin Crockford come out to perform an electrical safety, and he was friendly, helped me with an issue I was having with a light, and was incredibly useful. Would highly recommend!

They were helpful and approachable, worked together with my to find the best date that suited me, and the engineer, Mike Coyne that carried the EICR was very nice, proffesional and knowledgeable. He was punctual, tidy, respectful of our home and did the job great.

The Engineer was polite and helpful , did his service and answered my question.
Mr Crockford is a credit to his company

Workman arrived on time,very hard working,explained everything that was involved in the ongoing work,very cheerful,clean and tidy person,removed all rubbish after work finished. Highly recommended

Gary McGowan was extremely professional and explained everything perfectly. He bought to light an issue with our boiler and he was a genuinely nice guy to have in the house, polite and trustworthy. He also pointed out other work which has not been done in the past which will now be done.

Extremely expensive, £75 per hour +VAT for an electrician. It would be cheaper to hire a NASA trained astronaut than this company to do any work. Look around and avoid if you can.

After my previous review Gas-Elec were in contact straight away to rectify the situation. They could not have been more helpful and understanding and sent another engineer out immediately. He was very thorough and explained what he was doing, and the outcomes. This has restored my faith in that there are decent companies around, and that some of them read the reviews and act upon them.
