Training with Gemma has been brilliant. The training classes were easy to follow and the tasks were varied in difficulty based on how your dog was progressing. The online training videos were also very useful in the time before and between classes. Gemma's classes set up great behaviours in my dog that I can continue to build on today.

We started working with Gemma at the beginning of 2023; we were having reactive problems with our Border Collie. Gemma has been amazing, over the last three months working with Gemma we have started to understand our dog and are able to read his cues, so we can tell when he is feeling anxious and not happy with the situation. We are learning so much, there is no magic wand, but Gemma provides real insight that is simply explained, practical help, honest feedback and lots of tools, and always provides encouragement when you need it most.
She has been so accommodating of our needs and flexed her program so the whole family can get involved.
We are still working with Gemma to make us the best owners we can be and have a happy, calm and resilient dog.

We went to Gemma after two bad experiences, 12 years ago, with my assistance dog in training. Gemma’s ability to assess how each dog learns and adjust her teaching to not only take this into account but us, as owners, flabbergasted us. My assistance dog passed her exams with flying colours and with compliments about Gemma’s training help from the assistance dog charity. My dog has been the most wonderful assistant all these years and has recently retired, although she is still living with and loved by us, of course. Naturally we returned with the new pup to take advantage of the skills of the best trainer in the west!

Gemma very much focuses on the dog ( and owner) infront of her rather than follow a set training plan. Training, even in a group feels tailor made.
Gemma has a skill of focusing on the positive in the dog which builds confidence.
She has extensive knowledge in dog behaviour and is really able to unpick what dogs are trying to communicate.
She is creative in her training and encourages purposeful practice rather than hours of training which can lead to disengagement of the dog and owner.
Above everything Gemma is kind which shines through in her training and is clear when all of her dog students see her.

Gemma is a brilliant trainer. My husband and I have been training with our two challenging dogs for a couple of years and are members of the Academy She is extremely knowledgeable, motivating and always thinking outside the box. She is fantastic with both dogs and owners and also has a great sense of humour. I leave every lesson with new ideas, filled with confidence and looking forward to doing our homework. I can truly say that Gemma turned our life around a bit over a year ago when she brought some much needed sound advice about how to manage a busy and demanding dog but especially also how to manage ourselves. We haven't looked back. We have joined the Academy and found it immensely helpful. We have travelled a fair distance to attend workshops (though stopped short of moving house to be nearer) and I really enjoy the Q&A sessions and the 'focus groups'. I love her humour, her no nonsense approach which is based on real understanding, her humanity and her ability to see the best in our dogs. She is just great. My dog and I are so much happier in each other's company. Thank you Gemma!

I’ve learnt so much through Gemma and her boot camps and online group. I wish I lived closer so I could do in person training with her as she would definitely be my first choice! I found her and her group through other recommendations when I was looking for tips on training my somewhat difficult rescue dog and have not been disappointed. Gemma offers really great, practical and grounded advice. I am finding her tips and techniques super helpful and wish I had started when my dog was a brand new pup! Gemma is just so enthusiastic, you can’t help but feel you are in the best possible hands. I avoided the idea of using a dog trainer for years but I’m so pleased to have found Gemma. No judgement, just good solid advice and guidance. She has a wealth of knowledge and training videos. We are online academy users so get access to all these training video aids as well as Gemma herself 3 times a week, (which means we can go at our pace as well because life does have a habit of getting in the way!) she has made training achievable for us which I never really thought as a family we had time for. She’s amazing. Highly recommend

Gemma is patient and empathetic with dogs and their owners. Billy and I enjoy our agility sessions. Neither of us are youngsters (Billy is 12) but Gemma encouraged us to enter competitions and we have quite a few wins, thanks to her solid training and advice. Even in a group she gives individual dog-specific advice. She also has a useful library of guidance videos available online.

I have 2 blind dogs and Gemma was totally honest with me about her experience with them. I am very impressed with Gemma’s online and in person training methods and her wealth of knowledge. She has a lovely manner with both dogs and people alike. Totally recommend her to anyone who wants genuine help and support.

Gemma has helped me to understand my pup Lola and shown us how to love and trust each other as we learn together. I've used the online resources and in-person/dog ones too. Gemma enjoys what she does and it shows through in the passion she brings to our sessions.
