German Breakthrough teaches its students how to actually speak and understand German, rather than simply memorizing vocabulary and conjugating verbs like traditional language courses offer. I am traveling to Germany soon, and I’m looking forward to putting my new tools to use.

Over the past several years, I have tried all of the apps (i.e. the green bird, the stone, even AI), but nothing seemed to get me beyond the absolute basics. German Breakthrough has been a game changer. I have only been on it for a week, but the tools and techniques in this program are not your traditional vocabulary regurgitation.
I would give 5 stars but there are still items that are being developed that I would love to use. Once everything has been released, I'd be more than happy to update the rating.

I really enjoy the instruction style and am learning so much very quickly. I've been using apps and workbooks which I also enjoy, but this program feels like a personal tutor and I prefer it to all the other methods I've tried.

I have only just started this course but am hopeful that it is going to help more effectively because the 'sorting out the wood from the trees' approach means I can make discernable progress conversationally much more effectively than other approaches I have tried.

Easy to use and follow, quick to learn

Good introduction to the German language. Not as dull as some other methods. An interesting way to learn.

This was the supplement I needed after just slogging through vocabulary and trying to piece together sentences I *thought* were right.
German Breakthrough has been...a breakthrough. I'm not even a half dozen lessons in and the progress is great.
You are taught to "learn in chunks". Actual, commonly used phrases. Then, to listen for these phrases within conversations and using them as keystones to understanding. To predict what you may hear, based on situation.
Now, when I listen to my "German conversations for sleep" (which I already had been) - I suddenly am fully understanding. Not every word, but the truly important thing- the gist. Then, if I want, I can go back and pick out the words I glossed over and look just those up.
Know how when a sports player is "feeling it"? The game "slows down" for him/her. That's *exactly* what happened here. Listening to these now, it really does seem to magically slow down, I hear the spaces between phrases.
I actually understand.
This was money well spent.

I am fairly new to the program but so far I am very satisfied with the content. The only problem I had was for some reason when I tried to add the extra packages and the page wouldn't load but I am satisfied with the $37 package I received.

For the first time I felt I was using real German !
No text books, no conjugating BUT using verbs in a real life way.
Will definitely follow "herr professor" more !

Being skeptical at first and fighting with the interface I had my doubts but after a couple of days everything started to come together. I started practicing the everyday phrases and writing down the new words. I then noticed that I wasn’t freezing up while doing my other language program. I used the techniques of picking out the important words and suddenly my comprehension increased dramatically.i am only on lesson 4 but am excited to continue.

10-12 minute segments were easily digestible and got you speaking immediately, rather than studying vocab or grammar. Very practical!

German breakthrough add has been in my feed for a couple of weeks. I have been doing the little green owl for more than 600 days, but I wanted something more, so finally I clicked the link, it’s a real website, they supply you with support material and help. I am happy with the site

I’m just getting started but I really enjoy how different this resource is compared to the MANY other programs I have tried. It feels cohesive, not random and not silly. It has a solid core but also has supplemental materials that can be used (or ignored) as needed. I like the sequence and flexibility.
