GFL is consistently late with pickups and often misses their pickups altogether. Ever since they bought out our local service a few years back it has been nothing but poor service. If you have other options I'd consider them.

Been almost a month and still haven’t picked up !! Takes over a week to get a response back from them. One excuse after another. I’m done !!!

This is not the first time the residents on the other side of our crescent have been overlooked. We are forced to use this oversized bin, and when we complain, they offer a smaller model, but it still takes up the same amount of space in our small garage. It is very difficult to contact GFL, and I believe they do not care about our concerns. I was informed by the previous company, Millar Waste, that GFL underbid them to secure the contract, and now we are stuck with their service.

Seniors like me, in our 80s, are expected to drag this large bin—especially when the wheels are frozen—to the driveway, clear away snow and ice to level it, and then drag it back because someone forgot or simply doesn't care. Additionally, every week, some garbage or recycling falls onto the street and is left there by your drivers. Having worked in customer service for 60 years, I can say that this is not an acceptable way to treat customers.

I have been dealing with GFL Environmental’s failure to pick up my trash on the scheduled weekly basis for over a year. When I finally canceled my service, they still sent me a bill for the following quarter—even though I had not received any service from them. They then went as far as sending the bill to a collection agency. In my opinion, this is an extortionist organization that preys on customers. If you’re reading this, stay far away from GFL Environmental.

It cracks me up that they can blow up your phone with messages about when they are closed, but they can't send you a message when they are delayed or otherwise not picking up the trash.

Thieves, too. I just cancelled service today and they cannot refund the remaining quarterly payment. Their costs are spread over customers waste and I'm stuck paying for a service that I won't use. Rude customer service that talks over you.

Update: I was contacted today and told they could, afterall, stop my service mid-quarter and send the appropriate refund. "Checks in the mail"

They claim they were following their normal schedule except where access was blocked. Our neighborhood was completely accessible following the storm and other trash services did come through but not GFL on last Tuesday. They showed up the next day to pick up the recycle trash right on schedule. Access was not the problem so what is their excuse?

They've skipped trash and recycle pickup maybe 50% of the time. Forcing us to call consistently to get them to come back or just let our trash pile up.
