I subscribed to GitHub Copilot Pro with a $100 annual plan in June, expecting reliable service and support. Instead, my account was disabled due to a billing error, and I’ve been locked out of Copilot ever since.

I submitted my first support ticket on September 5th (Ticket #3782531), and then a second one later—but GitHub never responded to either. No acknowledgment, no resolution. It’s unacceptable for a paid service to treat its customers this way.

GitHub’s silence is frustrating and unprofessional. If they can’t manage basic support, they shouldn’t offer paid subscriptions. I either want the service I paid for or a refund for the time I’ve lost.

Until GitHub fixes its support system, I strongly advise others to think twice before paying for Copilot Pro.

I hope GitHub improves its customer support, because right now, it feels like paying users are being ignored.

I’ve been using GitHub Copilot for about 15 days.
It’s amazing—almost like a mind that executes and then explains each step after it.
I recommend everyone use the GPT-5 model only, because it’s the only one that reviews the conversation history before executing any request, ensuring it doesn’t repeat commands or create unnecessary files.
Just keep a bit of oversight on every file or piece of code it adds—understand what it does, then accept the change.

GitHub Copilot on Visual Studio - I paid for the Pro service after using it for a few weeks, £10 a month seemed fair. Very shortly after paying for the service it stopped working and hangs when ever I give it a request. I tried to fix it myself but with no luck, I went to the support desk and they dont care that it does not work and will not help me. They even had the cheek to tell me to upgrade to a more expensive package and only then might they help make their product work. This is unacceptable, I am a paying customer and basic tek support is something I expect as a customer regardless of how much I pay.

Sorry but who in their right mind thinks it is acceptable to have an AI to be a paid service. it should be free to EVERYONE and not be gatekeeped by greedy pigs like you.

These guys are terible and immoral. Please dont buy this service when claude sonnet and other apps exist

Absolute Disaster — GitHub Support is Nonexistent

I’ve been a hardcore Microsoft and GitHub supporter for years. That loyalty just cost me a month of wasted time.

Here’s what happened: I updated my GitHub profile name. Their system let me save it with illegal characters (a period in my real name, C. E. Hirschauer). The second I hit save, my account completely broke — locked out, email marked as “not in use,” usernames taken, and all my repos/Gists/Pages stuck in limbo.

I filed a support ticket immediately. That was over a month ago. Not a single response. Not even an acknowledgment. My account is dead because of a GitHub bug, and their support just ghosted me.

This isn’t some free hobby tool — GitHub is where people run businesses, publish projects, and launch companies. To be left stranded like this with zero support is unacceptable.

Bottom line: If you value your work, back everything up and don’t trust GitHub to have your back. Their support is a black hole.

Seemless integration with my local repos and nifty GitHub actions which automates certain run checks.

The Free Plan offers a wide range of perks but keep in mind they’re metered so don’t forgot to send your budget cut-offs.

Thank you for offering a free copilot pro to students! not just computer science students in US, UK, etc.. I’m studying econ, in EU, yet I still got approved for github pro, and I can’t tell you how useful it is!

Github banned my account without any reason and I lost access to all the source codes I had developed so far.
Github should compensate for the losses caused by this, but I can't ask the support team for help.
There is no clear explanation for banning my account and I can't contact the support team. This is the biggest nightmare and completely illegal.

Anyone picking up support tickets?

I raised a request in relation to a payment that I made. It has been 2 weeks, and I have not heard back from them. I also replied to their e-mail about an enterprise trial where they wanted to organise a call, and that was ignored as well.

If I new what a joke they were, I would have never signed up. I will kiss goodbye to my $42.00 and use a different service. I definitely do not want to entrust my source code to them.

No support at all and always failing responses. The code that produces is almost always vague, malformed, without following instructions, erasing unrelated working code and almost all docstrings. Usually gives always the same bad response after explicittly specifying that that response is wrong. I am ripped off with the subscription.

Unübersichtlich, unnötige Unterverzeichnisse in Unterverzeichnissen. Bevor man irgendwas hosten kann, wie eine html Datei, muss man schon fast einen IT Kurs buchen.

Wie wär's wenn ich einen Code uploade, ein Link wird generiert, zu Weitergabe bereit gestellt!? Wo ist das Problem? Andere können es besser.

Scam service with no support, I cannot access my account even though I have all the primary credentials (username, email, password). I have never seen a service this outrageous that can't help at all, never store any data at here it is at great risk for permanent massive data loss

I contacted GitHub Support to cancel my Copilot subscription due to serious privacy concerns. Instead of assisting, they instructed me to use Copilot itself to solve the issue — the very product I was trying to cancel.

Despite my clear request, they refused to cancel the plan directly, forcing me to navigate it on my own.

GitHub should provide a transparent, intuitive, & centralized subscription management interface — where canceling Copilot or any plan is smooth, visible, & requires only a few clicks.

The current process is frustrating, opaque, & feels intentionally unethical — undermining user trust.

I really love Github. What they grant me as a free user is more than generous and I also happily paid for 2 years of Copilot, because it made my life so much easier. Now I am really heavy into LLMs so i use lots of other tools, that are more specialised, but the copilot is still the tool I tell everyone to use, who is not knee deep into that stuff. I will also recommend the Github git hosting to everybody who needs version controlled files.

I read a LOT of bullshit 1-star-reviews here. What do people expect from a 10-20 bucks / month abo? Immediate support for everybody?
