Support staff was very quick to respond (about 8 hours) and their response was very helpful. They answered my question with no round-about links and my question was resolved after the first reply

Best site to develop, exchange and learn... the community is very open very helpful and reactive everybody's politely interacting with everybody else such a big contrast with other sites such as the hateful losers on that site horrible site StackOverflow ( to avoid at all cost).

A good website for hosting repos but could be more open and I am not a big fan of it being owned by Microsoft but overall it has some great code hosting services.

Has consistently worked for years and since the Microsoft acquisition has only improved. The built-in CI and editors are great, a huge convenience upgrade having migrated from old-school Jenkins.

The UI, CLI and API are convenient and well thought-out. Competing platforms are substantially more confusing by comparison.

My only real complaint is service uptime. Pushes and CI have periods of not working for a few hours a few times per year.

I use github to host a few of my websites and everything has been smooth so far! I would recommend them is you are looking for a simple and free place to host a small website will a little traffic.

Github was advertising that it had a program to unbloat windows, I tried to get the program, suddenly all was nonsense but for 40$ it would be revealed, I finally found the program, winaero tweaker elsewhere, github had tried to sell me an existing program that it pirated, youtube of some schmuck that was demonstrating his unbloatware program and none of it was viable, but for 40$ it was going to work, schmuck kept saying MIT, pirates come in all shapes and sizes.

Eine der besten und nützlichsten Seiten im Web überhaupt. Auch in der günstigen Pro Version zu empfehlen, wenn sie denn überhaupt gebraucht wird. Was bei den meisten Fällen nicht notwendig sein wird. In der Handhabung deutlich besser als ähnliche Anbieter.

With no warning and no apparent reason Github suspended my account. This was over a week ago. Last weekend I opened a ticket and tried to call in ...as we have Premium Support plan it says they have 24x7 phone support..guess what..the phone number goes to a recording which says ...open a ticket on the website ! WTH. Ok...ticket opened and no response. Since they locked me out I needed to create the ticket with a diff email. 1 day, 2days > 1 week no response. I created 6 different tickets during the week, tried to call every number I could find. Even tried to open a ticket with Microsoft since they own GH.. NO #$#$#$# Response and I'm still locked out. What a total rip off and useless support. Their Community forum has many similar complaints including mine.

Half the things on here just don't make sense. I thought the whole idea of this was so you can use other people codes but you practically have to do half of it yourself. And its as if they are telling you to download this and do that and they don't even give the file that you need.

Let's put it this way: you buy a car online, you are very excited, and when it arrives you discover that it is not assembled: it's just the pieces, screw by screw, and you have to assemble them. I think you'd be pissed off too

I want to store my source code safely (transferring from SVN) but this is a really steep learning curve. It might well be great eventually, but they could do more to support newcomers.

Github is the best site for programmers!
