Good service for share you code. But the history about they AI still information from repository with not only MIT licenses is terrible

This website deducted 44$ from my bank account during the trial period without my permission.

Microsoft ruins everything it touches. This includes GitHub. Ever since GitHub has been bought by Microsoft, customer support service and registering accounts have been an absolute joke. The reason why accounts are getting flagged is because people are protecting their online anonymity with disposable emails and V.P.Ns against Big Brother. I stopped downloading anything from GitHub since Microsoft gets funded by America's warmongering tyrants who attack human rights internationally. So, GitHub is just another expansion of America's tyrannical empire controlled by very wealthy oligarchs from the big tech industry. It shows how technology is being weaponized for Orwellian politics. So, I would recommend nerds who care about human rights and intellectual freedom to stop using GitHub. GitHub is now controlled by Microsoft that gets funded by warmongering totalitarians who are trying to get Julian Assange into American soil.

You can't contact Github, so it'll have to be a review here instead.

Earlier today, I created a repo with a bunch of demo files, some of them redacted ssh key files, that is to say, files with the names of ssh key files, but with the word "REDACTED" instead of an actual key. Because this is a demo repo.

After doing some gardening, I return to two emails from "GitGuardian" at getgitguardian.com, informing me that they've "detected RSA private key leaks in my repository" (cue ominous music).

Links in here point to my commit with the redacted files, or to a "GitGuardian" login page, that asks me to grant it a bunch of permissions to my data and my repo.

First of all, it's wrong. There are no leaks. Second of all, I have never granted access to this actor, nor have I allowed them to send me spam email (or scam if you consider your data as property, which I do, so yeah, scam email). Third of all, it seems Github already did share access to my data with them, without my consent.

So yeah, not happy.

GitHub is great for code collaboration and open source project management. I use it every day.

Its bittersweet, GIT is awesome but GITHUB is owned by Microsoft :(

Easy and streamlined development experience. Doesn't lock essential features behind a paywall (paywall is for more advanced enterprise features)

Bitter experience has proven that if it is painful to sign up you better off not doing it. I have spent an hour, no luck.

GitHub is a great git repository hosting service and makes collaboration with other developers so much easier. The GitHub support team also is very helpful whenever you need them.
The best of all is that the core features are completely free!

Tried to create a new account for a new startup - the account got flagged - what the hell? Customer service gives me useless guide that doesn't work after 2 days of waiting.

Terrible service, costing development time. Will move all my stuff to another provider.

After many email i explained that i am ordinary person and i don't have any third parties activities i have received below response :

Auf jeden Fall einer der besten Orte um hilfreiche Tools und guten Code zu bekommen. Über die Bezahlmodelle kann ich nichts sagen.

Downloaded a file they said included Sonic Studio 3 and Realtek audio and Soundblaster etc. After installation my settings were changed and lost permissions for files that werent even installed before and had no business being on my pc, also the files were not part of the download. Its like they installed a bunch of rubbish which I didnt need and the files they said were in the installation didnt even work. Have had to uninstall one by one but my security settings are greyed out and I dont have full permissions anymore. luckily no damage done to pc but basically messed up my pc. Will never use this site again.
