The worst solicitors we've ever dealt with in our over 15 years of property purchase business.
They made us loose purchase of two properties and money.
Two staff there Chloe and Sophie not helpful at all. We will send documents to them and they will claim documents not received and keep asking for explanation and explanation even though the documents are with are with them.
Kept delaying until two mortgage offers expired, both extended and expired and we lost out.
Our mortgage adviser even complained and got fed up.
We can never recommend this solicitors for property purchase to even our enemy.

We were first time buyers and the mortgage process seemed extremely complicated at first. we instructed Glover Priest through Lloyds and Chloe and Sophie were assigned our case. from that point on it was pretty much smooth sailing. Chloe and Sophie were both very professional and explained everything in laymen terms so that would could understand it. they kept in constant contact with us and answered any questions we had throughout the process. An excellent firm with excellent staff who we will definitely be using again in the future. i would recommend Glover Priest for anyone starting a first time house purchase.

My purchase completion was done very quickly, with the minimum of fuss and great communication thoughout. Chloe was excellent all the way through and the final bonus was completing a week earlier than expected. Thank you Chloe, highly recommend!

Communication was non-existent, I had to constantly chase updates through email and phone, all of which were simply ignored. Lost count of the amount of times messages had been left with reception agreeing someone would call me back for this to never materialise.

Took over 4 months to complete a refinance of a property with no other party involved!!! Valuation report was allowed to expire twice and Asad needed to negotiate with the underwriters for further extension. When we eventually had someone respond to an email, the excuse for the delay at the time was we were waiting on searches to be returned - £50 was advanced to GloverPriest to allow searches to be procured 12 weeks prior to this email!!

Currently, my attempts at communication with the company have been ignored for the past few weeks as I try to query the fact I have been transferred £220 less than the completion statement I received and approved.

Absolutely shocking service from Julia, Asad and the team. Would not recommend to anyone. I chose this firm knowing their quote was on the cheaper end of the scale. I thought as long as a basic level of service is delivered, this will be fine for my situation since I have a very straightforward case (low value refinance with no other parties involved). Unfortunately, the service delivered has fallen very far short of the basic service level expected and has been a terrible experience. You get what you pay for, I guess (or not, in this case).

If I could give 0 stars then I would choose to. Whilst the work was being completed and the house sale was being progressed, the communication was awful.
I never spoke to the solicitor assigned to us directly until the completion day when she rang to tell us that the house was legally ours. Every other dealing on the phone was either an unsuccessful call to someone on reception or a conversation with the legal assistant. Emails were not answered until they had been chased multiple times, often via phone.
I work in financial services myself and if I were giving the level of service that Glover Priest were, we would have an awful lot of complaints and unhappy clients on our hands.
Glover Priest were recommended by a friend but they provided such terrible service. I would strongly advise against anyone that was thinking of using them.

GloverPriest Kings Heath branch dealt with our house purchase as first time buyers. It took longer than we expected (just under 5 months as first time buyers buying a no chain vacant property) however this was due to our original solicitor and the solicitor who took over them leaving the firm so in total we had 3 case handlers. Chloe and Sophie dealt with our case in the end and they were both helpful and responsive. I do believe if Chloe/Sophie had dealt with our case from the start, it would have been a quick and straight forward process. Thanks again Chloe and Sophie.

What a shambles from star to Finnish.. I definitely would not use this company ever again while I'm alive. And I have plenty resons not to.
Trust me on that.. !!!

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Glover Priests during a six-month conveyancing process marked by poor communication and incompetence. I frequently had to initiate contact, as they rarely kept me informed. In fact, there were entire months where I heard nothing from them. The only time they called me was days after I had already moved into the property.

Their online system was unreliable, with many tasks marked as complete long after they actually were, making it impossible to track progress. Communication was so poor that even the seller's solicitors couldn't get in touch with them, leading to threats of stopping the sale altogether.

The final straw was when they forgot to pay the stamp duty, which I only noticed hours before the contract exchange, an oversight that could have been disastrous. The unnecessary stress and anxiety caused by their lack of professionalism were unacceptable.

Lloyds TSB should seriously reconsider recommending Glover Priests. I certainly won't be using them again and would advise others to avoid them as well

Incredibly slow solicitors, correspondence is awful. Held up house sale significantly and then have just done the same on a transfer of equity. Do not use them.

As you can see below, they don’t even recognise me as a person involved in one of their matters.

What should have been a simpell purchase of my home with no chain as turned in to a nightmare if this gets finished when they say. It will have taken 5 months and all of this will have been down too the total incompetence of Chole Trueman and her secretary that have blatantly lied to me on the phone This is a fact i can prove if they wish to challenge me Leeds building society and 3MC mortgage brokers have been excellent in there help trying to deal with this matter Please do not uses this branch they are not qualified enough to deal with anything that is important Disgraceful is the best i could say Mr R Corr

Engaged this company March - July 2023 to deal with conveyancing purchase. Service ponderous throughout, they had to be repeatedly chased up at every stage. Twelve weeks have elapsed since completion and they have yet to provide basic information concerning Deed retention or a receipt for services. I even had to speak to the vendors solicitor to ascertain information!
I'm fed up with chasing them up and being ignored and have made a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman.
Reply to Glover Priest - Thankyou for finally contacting me. You ignore emails and even a message within your own messaging portal so there is no point in me using either to recap the reasons for my dissatisfaction. Check your messaging system for 5/10/23 and for emails dated 25/07, 15/08, 22/08 and 19/10. Your ref is 3068488.

Avoid this firm!!! Zero commitment to the service they render. They still have my LISA funds after several weeks of cancelling my conveyancing process with them. All efforts to get my money back have proved abortive!

Jack Howell and Ann Merrick handled my case they was both very professional,proactive and always responded in a timely manner

To this date we are still finding stupid mistakes failure to register property, incorrect spelling of surnames the list is endless , my advice is avoid and go elsewhere

I recently had a BTL purchase and Shaid was recommended by my mortgage broker. Initially, I was tempted to use my local ones who are far more expensive and not negotiable. I had done several transactions in the past with my local ones but just to realise that you can find a lot better one outside. Shaid was the one I found eventually, who was always there when you need to talk (often unheard of from solicitors as you only get a chance to talk to their secretary).
Very polite, helpful and he keeps you updated frequently. Transaction went really smoothly and the best experience I had in many years. Thank you Shaid and Julia for the best and almost stress free experience. I used the latter word since house purchasing is often very stressful where big money is often involved.
I have already recommended Shaid and GloverPriest to my friend who is also purchasing a BTL property. All the best Shaid and your team for a fab job.
