I gave the company another chance, and they cancelled my trip 30 minutes before and the support was zero. I missed my trip and everything.
I recently rented a car from GoCar…
I recently rented a car from GoCar Ireland and, unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The vehicle would not start when I needed it, which caused a significant delay and a lot of inconvenience. While these issues can happen, I expected the car to be in reliable working condition before it was made available for rental.
I hope GoCar improves its vehicle maintenance and inspection process to prevent similar situations for other customers. I also appreciate responsive customer support when problems arise, as this makes a big difference during unexpected situations.

First time using their service and last one.
I've booked a medium car for a day trip for home visiting in Dublin because I thought it would be convenient getting the rental car so close to my house. I was very wrong. When I got to the place, the car was very dirty and wouldn't turn on the engine, because the battery was off.
Then, after a few minutes with their support, they told me to BOOK ANOTHER CAR!! I complaint and they booked another car that was in the parking space, which was SO DIRTY, even more than the car that I had booked.
The car tires were not good and it felt unbalanced and unsafe all the way. They were not sorry, they didn't issue any credit and charged me the initial price for a worse car!
TERRIBLE SERVICE. Thankfully I blocked my future charges on my revolut app and just deleted that shit!

First time user of Gocar and last
First time user of Gocar and last. We hired a cargo van. The absolute state of it. Bangs and scratches all over it and filthy dirty inside and out. It looked like it was a builders van. Whatever about the back being grubby but the cabin area was vile. Dirty and smelly with stains all over the seats.
We'd made arrangements to pick up furniture so couldn't cancel it but reported it straight away with photos.
I got a generic email back and that they will let the fleet team know. I sent on further information and photos and was told that the previous user would be penalised.
No gesture of refund or partial refund or % off next use offered to us.
They haven't even bothered replying to my last email sent over a month ago.

This company is beyond a joke and I don't trust the so called customers service staff..I have told them on 3 different occasions spread over 5 weeks that the car does not lock so if you were out shopping and putting stuff in the boot but its an invite for a burgler and I also forgot my jacket in the back seat with a sentimental chain in the pocket and when i went back it was gone but I send them 12 emails yes 12 emails to see who rented after me and they just ignore me to try get my jacket and chain back..they are disgusting and vile and someone has to step in on this joke of a company and if your car breaks down after 6pm your stuffed because your left to deal with it yourself while the so called customer staff who are working from home but probably out suth friends get paid for what customer service..there vile really vile and if this post is taken down we'll then they must be told hush hush wink wink
Brilliant service
Brilliant service, so easy to use, all done on the app. And not overly expensive. Collect the van at 6.30am i was a little late.... and dropped back when i was done at 9pm... i was confused with the refueling. I messaged them and they got back to me straight away, you can fill at any garage and send a reciept
2nd time booking was cancelled just before collection
I rented a van for the third time with this company and for the second time the van was cancelled on me last minute. The first time the van was cancelled on the day of collection. This time it was the afternoon before. No back up van supplied and no recourse. Van was badly needed on the day and due to it being cancelled so late it was very difficult to arrange another company.
This company is great in that it is so cheap and when it works it works. However not reliable and this experience will definitely make me reconsider in the future.
Very bad customer service
Very bad customer service, waiting for over 2 weeks now to get business account openend with no luck. Had a different issue before that and took weeks to get a reply with no resolution.

Rented a van. Arrived to collect it and it was clamped! I will never use this service again, waste of time! Literally no consideration to people's time!
Hopefully you never need help
I have used GoCar a number of times now, and the last few times have all gad issues...the car would not unlock for me either at the start or during the day. I would have have to use the app to lock and unlock repeatedly to open the door. Tried to call support, no one ever answers. Last rental was smashed in the rear, the front, the hood, broken headlight, safety measures defective and warning lights on dash...again, no one to answer the phone or the support request. GoCar is the only close option for me, otherwise I would never use them again.

I am really unhappy with this service. We booked 2 times and had a problem both times. The car was parked in a payed parking and we had to pay 30 euros to get it out, we asked for a refund but 0 answer, we call and same.
The second time I booked one car to bring my boyfriend to the airport because this country public transport are baad but the moment we try to open the car, it says on the app it's unlocked but in relality the car won't open. It was early in the morning so they were not available. We gave up and didn't use the car and missed the flight !! And they charge us anyway around 60-80 euros even though we didn't even use te car and we send proof that it won't open. But they don't answer our multiple requests. This company is a SCAM. Sorry for the language i am not english speaker.

My experience was extremely disappointing. I had not rented from GoCar for some time, and compared to my previous experience, this was unacceptable.
The van was extremely dirty both inside and outside. The vehicle was heavily scratched and dented, and one of the front headlights was not working. I am honestly relieved that I was not stopped by Garda and that no accident occurred, as the technical condition of the vehicle did not meet basic safety standards. I should not have been driving a vehicle in such condition.
Vehicle safety must be a priority. This experience left me stressed and concerned, and it has significantly affected my trust in this service.
Filthy and unsanitary
Absolutely disgusting experience with GoCar. On collection, the inside of the car was filthy - scattered litter, dirt ground into the floors, and food remains left behind by the previous users. To make matters worse, there was a significant amount of dog hair throughout the car, which is a genuine health risk for someone with allergies. This is completely unacceptable for a car rental service.
When contacting support, we were told that GoCar relies on users to maintain the vehicles because it’s a car-sharing company. That is not an excuse. Clearly, GoCar is not enforcing prior warnings or penalties for users who leave cars in this state, nor are they blacklisting those who do offend. Either way, the behaviour of a previous driver should never be my concern - users have a right to a sanitary environment when using a service like this - and GoCar failed to provide that basic service.
To make things worse, support told us to take the car for a valet ourselves and then request a refund. Do they honestly think customers factor cleaning GoCar cars into their schedule? This is a joke. As a last resort, they offered a 25% credit to our GoCar wallet - completely pointless if you have no intention of ever using GoCar again. Poor hygiene standards, weak enforcement, and tone-deaf options for resolution. An all-round failure of service.

Before I even booked their site isn't great. I'm in Galway and ended up booking in Tuam as GoCar site wouldn't show me van availability.
The van was dirty inside and out. 2 of the tyres needed to be pumped. The Adblue light was flashing. The engine management light was on and the side of the van was damaged.
I paid for Adblue and tried to submit the receipt. The GoCar site wouldn't accept a pic from my phone and I had to go through emails to find the necessary info.
Based on today's experience I would never use them again but I have used them for vans in the past and never had issues.

If you rent a car from them and return it late, they will issue an additional penalty, on top of the payment for the overdue time and the extra kilometers driven.
Their logic is that if you drive more kilometers and keep the car longer, you get fined for that even though you have already paid for all the delays.

I've had mixed experience with GoCar
I've had mixed experience with GoCar. The idea convenient and it can be really useful when you need a car or van for a short time. However, the execution often lets it down. issues with vehicle condition 1. dirty interiors 2. Visible damage 3.serious tire problem , which made the whole trip fell unsafe.
GoCar works when everything goes smoothly, but safety checks, cleanliness, and support definitely need improvement.
